Just picked up my new Grand HiLander Hybrid. Tony Berger was great, set up everything, said to call anytime with questions/help. It was well worth the 2 hour drive from Des Moines to receive such customer service.

I was dealing on a new Tundra truck and Hosmer Toyota salesman gave me a price and terms over the phone. I requested in writing to move forward, and it came back $6,000 more. When I questioned why Hosmer came back and gave me multiple excuses from new employee, misunderstanding of incentives, pricing errors, and including they won’t stand behind advertised pricing on dealership website. Be cautious and don’t believe anything from this dealership until it’s in writing.

Purchasing a car from a dealer 2 hours away can be a real challenge. Hosmer removed that challenge and made it a simple buying experience. No hassle pricing (no "let me check with my manager"). Staff was super friendly. I highly recommend their dealerships.

Zach Doss was our Sales Rep and he did a tremendous job for us, helping my wife and I to purchase our 2018 F-150. He is a very personable and caring young man, who truly cares for his customers. If we had a question that he couldn't answer, he researched it and immediately found out for us. We highly recommend Hosmer due to Zach's honesty and hard work.

Bought a Tundra from Hosmer two days ago and it was probably one of the best experiences I had buying from a dealership. Guy named Tony took care of me and didn't oversell me or push me. I thought pricing was very competitive and no hidden fees, no nickel and dime BS like other places.

Rick Brunsvold recently helped us buy our new vehicle. Back in January, I made my first big girl purchase here with the help of Rick Brunsvold! I rolled out with a brand new 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XSE! I had reserved the car back in December while it was in transit, worked out most of the details over the phone with Rick, then took a trip to Iowa to test drive and sign! I had no experience walking into this process but Rick walked me through every step and was SO kind! I didn’t feel pressured to purchase at all, him and his team explained everything clearly which I appreciated! I was in and out of the dealership in an hour!

After extensive research of Toyota Dealers in Minn, Iowa and So. Dakota, I settled on Hosmer of Mason City, IA. Tony Berger answered the call and within 5 min I knew I chose the right dealer. From start to finish, Tony found me the exact RAV4 Hybrid SE I wanted. We set a time frame, about 2 months and the then it happened. I can't say enough about Tony, experienced, knowledgeable and professional. I was looking for a small town car dealer that would satisfy my needs and I found it. So what if I had to drive 100 miles to Mason City, it was worth the trip. On top of that, we did everything over the phone. These are real everyday people working at Hosmer not some corporate outfit. Hosmer Toyota is the exception in todays world.

My son was driving back to college when an error message came up on his Rav4. After seeing he was 10 miles from this dealership I called the service department for him to get some advice and referrals for tow companies. The service department told me what to do so I could talk my son through steps to get his car to this service department so they could help him without a tow.

When he got there they got him in quick and back on the road. I am nowhere near this Dealership, and all I did was talk to them by phone for my son, but the care they took to make sure he got to them and than taking care of him tells me this service department has amazing customer service and if I lived closer I would totally make use of Hosmer Toyota

I was looking for a RAV4 Hybrid Limited with particular specifications. Tony at Hosmer Toyota was very quick and helpful with his responses. He noted that the car best suited for my specifications was going to take a few weeks to arrive on the lot. He noticed I lived a few hours away from Mason City, IA and offered a loaner vehicle until the new vehicle arrived. I loved Tony's customer service and thoughtfulness and appreciated having the loaner vehicle. Tony ensured that the loaner was a RAV4 also so that I could get acquainted with RAV4. He kept me informed when the car arrived and scheduled a pickup. The pickup of the vehicle was super smooth. Shawn walked me through warranty options. Ananyo walked me through financial paperwork. There was no push to upsell. They were very educational and answered all questions thoroughly. Tony took time to get me acquainted with car's features and I was on my way. What a fantastic experience I've had with Hosmer Toyota! Thank you, Hosmer Toyota.

Everyone was so friendly. Our shopping experience was low pressure and straight forward. We got a great deal. Tony Berger is a consummate professional!

This is our 2nd new van (one Odyssey & one Sienna) purchased from Hosmer. The Sienna was a 13 month wait (that's about normal these days). Salesman Jon M. kept us up-dated and often offered other models & colors as Siennas became available. We really appreciated that owner Jeremiah called a couple of times to let us know we hadn't been forgotten. The pick-up of our new van went smoothly with Jon. What we were disappointed in was the "extended warranty presentation" by the finance manager. We were given a total of what we were to pay that included the extended warranty even though we had not agreed to it. We had to ask for the price breakdown to figure out he had included the extra for the extended warranty. It took at least 15 minutes before we got to sign our paper work and be on our way.

Went in for routine oil and filter change and tire rotation. I also added a transmission flush, power steering flush, anti freeze flush, brake fluid flush, fuel injection flush.

Was later told in phone call that the transmission was "spinning" and they would have to remove the transmission pan instead of a flush. Upon paying I was told that the transmission pan drain plug was "cross threaded" and they needed to replace the entire transmission pan and plug.

The post sale paperwork; however, stated nothing about the plug being cross threaded, but instead states "Customer States Transmission pan rusted, needs replaced". I made no such statement.

If the threads on the transmission pan plug were cross threaded (i.e., stripped) that would be due to Hosmer Toyota previously removing the plug on two previous occasions and / or the current attempted removal of the plug.

I have every single repair receipt for the life of the car. I also have a written record of every single trip made int he car.

Due to the replacement of the pan and plug the bill came to nearly $1200 and that was with $85 off in coupons.

Future business with Hosmer is terminated.

Ordered and bought our 2024 Toyota Venza from Tony Berger at Hosmer Toyota. Tony was easy to talk to and showed and explained all the new/different features. Plus, set up our Bluetooth settings, too! And, Ananya Chakravarty, finance director, explained the car's warranties through Toyota. Enjoying our new car.

We have had a horrible post-purchase experience with Hosmer Toyota. We purchased a 2024 Toyota 4-Runner on June 3, 2024 from Tony who was great. However, today is August 26, 2024 and we still have no registration or license plates, it's been a nightmare. Currently we are driving with a paper plate taped to the back window which was only good for FIFTEEN DAYS and expired over two months ago. Terrible back office service.

I highly recommend this dealer for all your Toyota needs! They helped me purchase a limited edition Toyota. The Service Department has been consistently honest, clear, and friendly - they also helped me a couple of times beyond my expectations. Their service costs are reasonable, and I haven't been overcharged.

Bought a car from them with "No known issues" then have spent over $3000 just fixing it(1 week after buying). When the problems were brought up I was told "That's what you get for buying a used $7000 car." Why didn't Tony tell me that when he was selling it to me? We may never know. Thanks a lot for selling me a $7000 pile of scrap. Will never buy here nor recommend buying from here. Attached is a picture of the dash lights that came on after driving for less than a week. The problems since then have only gotten worse.

While we were driving to MO for the solar eclipse on 4-6-24 (Saturday) my Honda CRV started making noise while driving on I35. We pulled over and my husband said sarcastically “terrific”!! The skid plate on the bottom of the engine came loose and was flapping loudly. We had just had the engine overhauled by a Honda dealer in the Minneapolis area so as you couldimagine, we weren’t happy at all. We continued to drive (very slowly) down I35 while my husband tried to find a nearby Honda dealer. We called Hosmer Honda in Mason City. They were very kind and said their service was closed, but maybe the next door Toyota dealer might be able to help us. So we headed to the Toyota dealer which turned out to be Hosmer Toyota. We walked into the service department and was greeted right away by Adam Malen who we told we were traveling and needed help . He said that they may not be able to fix it but they should be able to remove it so we could continue our trip. After only 20 minutes he handed me my keys and said “You’re all set” We asked him if he put the plate in the car and he said he was able to reattach it! We asked him for an invoice and he said there wasn’t one. I then gave him a big hug and thanked him for saving us. This kind of service makes me want to purchase a Toyota and have it serviced by Adam! The only issue is that that’d be a long drive from Minneapolis! I wanted to let everyone know what an excellent person Adam is! Thank you again Adam! You made it possible for us to see the eclipse and cross a line off of our bucket list.
