RUN DO NOT WALK! I will call you out! I live in Virginia and had Brennan I believe was his name come to my home to provide written estimate or so I was told at a previous event. He came to my home introduced himself to my young son and proceeded a 2 hour long slide show presentation. Midway through the convo I stated that I wasn’t doing anything right now and he was fine UNTIL it was time to provide the written estimate. He quoted me 14K for 7 windows then brought the price down to 8K with all these discounts. I asked for the estimate in writing which he wasn’t going to do. He became very pushy and I became very uncomfortable bc I was not going to commit. He left very rudely saying just put $1 down “NO!” Then talked about how much of a waste this was for his time with family and in-laws eating tacos and drinking in front of my young son! I will never use this company!

When our sales person Scott showed up at the door to talk about our potential window replacement, I asked him to keep it short and not too sell me the window during our conversation. I already knew I needed new windows, everyone is going to claim that their windows were the best and I should buy from them. I didn't care for the fancy props or to hear about the bells and whistles. I used to build and remodel houses for a living before I joined the Navy.
The only thing I wanted to know was why should I buy from Capital Remodeling and how much it was going to cost me. What got me to close was Scott respected my request, albeit it was a rude one, and we got right to business. The conversation instantly became two-way. This was a relief because, more often than not, it's the salesperson trying to convince you to buy their stuff with sales tactics. I'm not very receptive to being manipulated.
The windows are local, along with the folks that repair them if I had to make a warranty claim. No random subcontractor hired by a corporate company. The warranty is lifetime and transferable if I chose to sell my house and the qoute for my window replacement was $7000 less than other contractors I received qoutes from.
The work was done quickly and efficiently and communication was fluid both ways. I would be happy to recommend this company to anyone who needs a window replacement. They will be first I contact when I decide to make further renovations.

Capital Remodeling replaced 23 of our windows. It was one of the best decisions we’ve made. The salesman was very professional and helpful, the installation was very well done, our utility consumption is down from previous years, the windows are easy to clean, and we are very happy with the security features. Five stars all the way!!

They were courteous and respectful of my home. They also cleaned up so well it was as if they were never there. I love my new windows and had a positive experience from the very first meeting with the sales rep. I highly recommend Capital Remodeling and look forward to completing more of my home improvements with them.

TLDR: high pressure pushy salesmen, over priced, poor quality work that won't fixed the damage they caused.

a massively high pressure sales experience made my girlfriend feel forced she had to sign immediately, I even told her take time to review it and he said "don't or it'll cost you more" followed by many months of waiting, just for them to install three windows upside down and then also cause a leak on another. they want to say oh it was like that but as you can see from the pictures below with the original windows from when the home was built there was no leak. just a few storms later and you can see the progression over just a couple of weeks.

My husband and I replaced our windows and roof and are completely satisfied! The warranties are a plus and we plan to do our kitchen next year as well! Making decisions such as these, I'm in agreement with both who are financially invested in a home to be there. It allowed for both my husband and I to make a grounded decision. I would recommend to all! Best experience so far!

I would not recommend this company. They had a good pitch but false advisement.. I did not like the fact the representative called my husband a liar who serves our country. Unfortunately when they gave the sales pitch they never said my husband and I had to be present for the estimate. My husband works in the morning and I work at night. The representative does not have a say when my husband and I can see each other. If this representative does see this shame on you. Feel free to take over one of our bills since you are worried about our work schedules. If you are serving our country go else where.

Sales person was extremely pushy and rude. The spiel took over an hour; I really just wanted a quote. And the biggest thing that undermined his sales pitch is that he went on and on about energy cost savings. Talked about getting a 50% reduction in my energy bill over 10 years (with a whopping 5% per year in inflation to bump up the number, as if we've had that rate of inflation for 10 years) and gave a number. Then the final quote was still several thousand dollars more expensive than that.

I wasn't planning to commit to such a huge expense then and there because I'm not a crazy person. This was the first quote I was getting. I wanted to get a number and think about it. He refused to leave any quote if I wasn't willing to buy then. Extremely sketchy behavior. Then he stormed out complaining that he had an hour drive home and said it didn't seem like I wanted to buy windows anyway. Certainly not from this company!

All in all capital remodeling did a great job. Their initial home visit was very professional and they have a 4D model of the type of windows they provide so it gives you an idea of what your paying for!

I had a great experience with Capital Remodeling. I got my windows from them and everything from the consultation to the installation process was professional and fast. They delivered the windows when they were promised without delay.

Unprofessional and sleezy salesmanship. I scheduled a consultation to get a quote. The guy came over and gave me an hour long lesson on the company and how their windows are made. He also made sure to give the prices of all his competitors (so no need for me to check myself). Once I finally got the quote, I asked him to leave it with me so I could consider. I never had any intention of purchasing that day. He then tried to convince me to do just some windows, or even just ONE window. Why would I replace just one window?? All so he could place a sign in my yard to solicit other business. It was so desperate. When I told him no, he got visibly upset, packed up his things and left. He was very rude.

If you are a reputable business, I should be able to get a legitimate quote that doesn't expire in five minutes.

We signed a contract a few months ago to have 5 windows replaced. According to our contract work was to start on approximately Oct 26. That date came and went and we heard nothing about our window installment. We began calling to figure out what was going on. I left a voicemail and sent an email and still heard nothing back. After a few days we finally got someone on the phone. Well we just got a call to schedule the window installment and the closest date we could get was Dec 12. It’s a bit ridiculous that they do not abide by the contract. Our installment date isn’t even close to what was on the contract. I will not be using them for the rest of my window replacements.

The sales rep and installers were awesome. The product was just what was presented to us. Each window was custom built for the frame it would be installed in and our electric bill has decreased as indicated. The only thing we did not like was the wait time for the custom built windows. However, it was worth the wait.

I already knew a lot about windows but I still decided to shop around prior to replacing my windows and sliding glass door for my condo. Out of all the companies I spoke with; Capital had the best combination of quality, energy efficiency and warranty at the best price. I did receive some quotes that were lower but the quality was lacking and no one could match their triple lifetime warranty including glass breakage for any reason, plus they even covered the labor for life. I instantly noticed a huge difference in how much cooler my home has been since the windows were installed and my first electric bill was almost $80 less than the one prior. All in all I am extremely satisfied with my decision so far.

Capital Remodeling doesn't make it easy on modern American families. Both me and my spouse have full time careers so I handle the maintenance around the house. Capital Remodeling couldn't understand that and wanted to see both of us with our busy work schedule. I tried to reason with them but it was a waste of time also from my experience with companies that want to see both spouses. They just jack the prices up more than they advertise.

8 years from installation...

Every window they installed has malfunctioned or leaked air between the two panes. I realized I had “gotten had” when a locking mechanism broke within the first year. They promised to fix it, but instead simply mailed me the parts and told me I had to fix it.

The salesman was helpful (as salesmen often are), but recommended changes that we listened to. Years later, we realize how poor the recommendations were. We bought Pella windows one year later and haven’t had a single issue with any of them, despite getting twice as many Pella windows as Capital Remodeling ones.

The windows themselves, after years of wear, seem like cheap knockoffs compared to the Pellas and Andersons of the world. You may be happy for a while, but in the end you will get what you paid for. Less even.
