This company came to my home April 18,2024 and was recommended by State Farm insurance. They promised to be completed by July 2024. Tim was the project manager and I can say with 100% certainty if you want a company that will do what they say look elsewhere. Gene the owner felt like he was too good to even pick up the phone and talk with anyone. He only converse through emails. Worst experience ever.

Had a pipe burst in January right before all the snow we had. My insurance set us up with B&G and I don’t think I could be happier. Sarah ran the entire operation start to finish and was amazing the whole time. She made sure to always be there to answer and handle any questions or concerns we had. We got to move back into the house this past weekend and are so happy with everything! She has made sure everything is exactly as it should be! I couldn’t be more appreciative. :)

I had a disaster that culminated with my first floor getting flooded. I was fortunate enough to get a recommendation for B&G Restoration. They came out as soon as the water problem was corrected. I had already planned a trip so they worked with me to begin as soon as I returned. I had already chosen the flooring, tile & cabinet for the half bath. The gentlemen that installed the flooring in all but the half bath were amazing. The tile & the cabinet look exactly as I envisioned. I don’t know the names of everyone involved but they were all professional & courteous. Seth Rosenberg & Don Richards were very helpful with any questions I had. I have already hired them for another job. I recommend B&G Restoration very highly.

Last year my house got water damage and insurance had to be involved. We were referred B&G by our water mitigation and I'm so glad they did. Sarah is an angel with getting the ball rolling on repairs so we can get our house back. After a very long day at work, I came home to a flood from an overflowing toilet. Within an hour of calling my insurance co., Sarah called and assured me that B & G would take good care of the clean-up and repairs. She was the calm, reassurance and the professional voice that I needed, and the reminder that this was not a tragedy but a fixable mess. Since then, she has called to schedule appointments, & walk-me through next steps. Jesse and Henry, the restoration team, who were on time, were also polite, efficient and reassuring. Gene immediately followed-up to chart the repairs and scheduling. From Sarah's first call to the beginning of repairs, the B & G team have my 5-star review. Please watch out for this company, they have done work in one of my condos and have done a terrible job, from paint peeling off walls and horrible drywall work to wiring an electrical outlet backwards. The incompetence of your workers is insane. For over 2 weeks now I could not figure out why a portion of my condo didn’t receive power, well Aparently your electricians can’t wire a simple outlet Eugene. I called your office nonstop for the last couple of days and you either send me to voicemail or when you guys do answer you just tell me that you’ll call me back.
Get it together, I live here with kids. Do a good job the first time and do it safely and with dignity.

They were assigned by my insurance for restoration services however when I talked to the scheduler she was extremely rude and I declined their services. The receptionist is the first we come in contact with and they should represent the company way better than they are. I asked how soon could they start repairs the lady’s response was do you want us to come out or not. So unprofessional !!!!

Recently I had B and G home improvement come to my house to give me an estimate on a mother-in-law suite with a mud room and walk-in closets. I waited a month and a half just to get the estimate and when Gene McCallister came over to go over the project, he only came with a paper with 2 drawings approximately 2 x 4 inches to decipher the layout of the project and space. I commented on wow I thought you might have a laptop or a packet for presentation on cost and layout. His total body language was that of he did not want the job. I commented on how he was seeming like he didn't want the job. The job presented was larger and had a huge living room presented (not wanted) no discussion of mud room or walk in closets. He stated that his person put in substantial hours in making the small picture (3-4 hours) and seem upset that we are talking square one with the current job that took the two of us to understand the layout to understand ( really small good thing I don't wear glasses) I just feel the visit was a waste of time and huge let down for such a long wait. I guess the builders are not hungry for work right now. I would not suggest these individuals for lack of professionalism. The care partner (private care) taking care of my mom even made a comment about his body language a lack of professionalism. So much so it compelled me to write this so others can beware. The meeting lasted 15 minutes...way to long for nothing.

The rep was extremely professional and honestly explained various courses of action in terms that were easy for me to understand. I’m only in the “getting estimates” phase of my project, but these guys hands down were the sharpest company that I’ve dealt with yet.”

They showed up saying the insurance company sent them. This was not true after I had complained to the insurance company they had no knowledge of this company.

Serving overseas is hard enough, let alone when your entire house is destroyed because of a water leak. Luckily the family and I found B&G! Great overall experience! Joe (my project manager) was nothing short of amazing. He kept us up to speed during the entire rebuild, and even found us a couple ways to save some cash. Quality company with quality people.

I can't say enough about this company to make anyone understand how much of a headache it's been dealing with them. They were hired on by Michael and Sons to replace flooring that had been damaged when installing a toilet. Trying to get ahold of Seth has been an absolute nightmare. The installation was terrible. They broke the threshold that was fine when they pulled it up and replaced it with one that didn't match. They left holes in the quarter round and the flooring they put down had scratches on it. Months after the install, a ton of texts and phone calls later, and Seth finally came out to look at the damage done... His customer service was horrendous.. he was irritated and didn't want to listen to a word I said. Afterwards I had to contact Michael and Son to get a response from him. This all started in May and were going into October and my flooring still isn't the way it used to be.

Edit: After speaking with Gene, he intends on taking care of all of our problems within a timely matter.

Very honest was refunded money for repair work I had to get done due to a plumbing mistake made by one of the workers. All workers were very nice to work with and dida good job on our kitchen and bathroom. The job took a lot longer than expected but in the end We were happy with the way it turned out.

MOST HONEST REVIEW YOU WILL EVER READ:
The initial estimate process went very smooth. The crews actually doing the work are excellent. They pay attention to the details and take pride in their trade. The communication coming from home office to the customer really needs improvement. When you read other reviews, you will notice that is usually were the breakdown happens. Summary, high quality work and excellent trade professionals. Improve the communication/customer service piece and you guys will be super.

I don't normally write reviews but I'm really pleased with B&G and I am hoping if you are looking for a contractor, you will consider hiring them. We had water damage from a bathroom that flooded and our insurance recommended B&G. I am so happy we followed their recommendation because they have been excellent. Kevin is our project manager and is prompt, courteous and on point, great follow-through. Brandon and Quincy are our main techs and do a wonderful job, very polite and up beat, and I feel they treat my house like they would their own. We like and trust them so much, we even came up with a couple side projects to have them do while they are fixing the bathroom. Gene, these guys deserve a raise! :) Thank you B&G!!!

We were told that the job would take around 2 weeks and it took over 2 months. Little to no communication and when i called to speak to a higher up about it, they said they would get back to me and never did. The painters they used had to come out 4 different times to do the job correctly and the carpet installers twice. There is a couple of things that still need to be fixed but i would rather do it myself at this point.
They wanted to charge me over $200 for someone to clean but when the job was "finished" on a friday, no one came during the weekend so i did it myself amd told them i shouldnt have to pay the cleaning fee. Thankfully they agreed. But there was still product left in my garage that we have to dispose of on our own.

B&G did a FABULOUS job implementing a vision for a new and improved kitchen in our 1980s home! We get compliment after compliment after compliment on how beautiful and bright it is now. Their carpenter even designed an amazing built-in banquette for our bay window in the kitchen, and I absolutely love it. The employees worked hard during the whole renovation, and it was complicated due to the removal of an unexpected load-bearing wall and completely changing the location of our inside garage door. These guys know what they’re doing, and I’m so happy with how everything turned out!

Stay away from B and G if you care about your house or your time.. This will be a long one, but worth the read if you are seriously considering letting these people work on your home:

I hired B and G to do work on my home for an insurance claim after I had a water pipe leak under my slab. The job B and G contracted to do was basically removing and replacing/reinstalling 1 cabinet and some flooring. I was quoted in the ball park of $14k for this job, a little pricey, but the insurance company is paying so why not get top notch work right? wrong.

I signed a contract on 7-9-18, at the time Marshall told me the job would take between 5-7 days to full completion. It is 9-14-18 (67 days) as of this review, and I am still living on a concrete slab. Through this entire process we have dealt with amateur workmanship, contractors who disrespect our home and create damage, and unmotivated project managers, who will only schedule work to be done after multiple attempts to contact them. I would have gotten higher quality work having done this job on my own. Here are the details for those that are interested:

Floors were installed with so many issues that half of the job had to be torn up and re-installed. When I pointed out that the contractor did not uninstall far enough out, instead of completing the job the right way, they drew "X"s with sharpee marker on the floor and left it like that for me to live with for 2 weeks so they could fix it next time (still not fixed).

My dishwasher was installed crooked and incorrectly.

B and G caused the following damage to my home:
1. 1 year old granite counter top cracked in half by amateurs trying to do a quick fix on a half-assed install job.
2. cable internet outlet broken/router damaged
3. broken glasses
4. broken moldings
5. damaged cabinets
6. damaged drywall

Their contractors used a circular saw inside my kitchen during install, covering the entire room in saw dust and not cleaning it up.

They got wood-glue on my living room couch.

They attempted to place a transition down the middle of my kitchen instead of matching up the floor planks correctly. The contractors also attempted to use white wooden quarter round as transitions between doorways and floors.

One of the worst companies I have ever worked with. If anyone wants to hear more details about this mess I would be happy to speak with you.

We recently contracted with B&G Home Improvement for a roof replacement and interior repairs to my 93-year-old mother’s house, and were extremely satisfied with the overall experience.

Although this work was not related to an insurance claim, the referral to B&G came from my mother’s local insurance agent, who we have known and trusted for many years.

From our first meeting with Gene McCallister, every part of the project was on time, and completed according to the terms of a clear, detailed, plain-English repair contract.

This could have been a problematic job; it is an old house in which my mother has lived for nearly sixty years, and which she wants to keep just as it is. Gene figured out ways to incorporate new materials into the old house in such a way that everything still looked as my mother expected.

I was also impressed that Gene always listened carefully to our requests, and honored my mother’s wishes, with no “upsell”.

All work was completed on time and to high standards.

We would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for home improvements.

B&G was hired to put our kitchen back together after a broken pipe. Marshall was very responsive getting the workers in on very short notice. Jesse did a fantastic job of reinstalling our cabinets and appliances, and rigging a temporary counter so we could use the sink and faucet while we waited for the countertops to be completed. Jesse's quality of finish work was top notch! Sheila cleaned the house of layers of cement dust so we could get everything put away. In the end, there was a strange electrical issue with 2 outlets that didn't work in another room. Marshall spent about 4 hours trying to track it down and when that didn't work he sent in an electrician to get to the bottom of it. Problem was found & fixed. We are very happy with their services and would recommend B&G very highly. Very nice people to work with and top rate quality.

EXTREMELY un-professional company. My insurance paid a FORTUNE and the work was SLOW AND HALF ASSED. Hands down the worst people I had to deal with the entire time I was out of my home due to a fire restoration. I can go on for literally DAYS about the problems that arose but to name a few here is why you SHOULD NOT HIRE THEM!

1. In January of this year 2017 they smoked cigarettes INSIDE MY HOUSE with windows OPEN and MY HEAT ON while they painted! Furthermore I took picture of the cigarette butts they left ON THE FLOOR. This all made my heating bill over $123 and I wasn't even living there! That's higher heating bill then the months I was living there compared to the prior year. To this I have proof. Mind you, why the hell would you be smoking INSIDE a house that you're restoring for smoke damage, idiots. No I did not personally catch this or I would of lost it. I told the supervisor Marshall, who I don't think cared or did anything about.

2. Ceiling fans were installed and already all having problems. To which this company has been BACK TWICE to fix. It's useless at this point to keep having them back to half ass the same fixes!

3. My projects estimate was looked at by other restoration companies in the area and I was told there is no way I should have been out of my home almost 5 months. They moved slow and there was even WEEKS no one made ANY progress. (This has all been documented).

4. The kitchen sink and oven hood. Well this one is odd. My faucet was installed wrong and is a touch on:off but will randomly go on when you turn the oven vent hood on. Something electrical?

5. Speaking of electrical. They claimed to use the best electric company in the area, Lavinsky. But I've had problems upstairs with the fans lights not working or going out, which like I said they have been back TWICE to fix the one fan. Then in my dinning room they installed a dimmer switch on the light, but it does not dim! lol it's just half ass all over this house with little things like that from these guys.

6. I moved back into this house in February. Mind you I was active duty military at the time and on 72+ hour work weeks for the start of this year. I was living in a hotel with 2 dogs, 2 cats and was completely stressed yet these guys took there SWEET time and like I said at times went WEEKS without anything new being done. I remeber one day after work going to check up on the house and it looked like they bought all new door knobs they were in a bag on the floor. One door knob had been installed, this was a Tuesday. I come back on that Friday and NOTHING new had been touched. These guys bought door knobs and installed just ONE this week and nothing was touched for example until 10 days later.

I can go on and on and on and on. I am STILL WAITING to this day on the receipts from the work to be copied and sent to me. My insurance adjuster has stated I have the right to go over everything and make sure they weren't pocketing money on top of all the shananigans this place runs, but it is now September as I sit here and write this and still nothing. I have been in contact about this now over THREE TIMES now to which I have email and text trails to prove but still nothing.
