5 Stars for Alden Longfellow’s Landscaping! I wasn’t sure what I wanted to plant around my house. I described to Johnathan my vision for it and he created a beautiful landscape. They went out of their way to make it happen before my planned family party. The crew were so nice and professional, leaving my property perfectly neat and clean. I will definitely use their services again and recommend them to friends and family! Thank you Alden Longfellow Landscaping.

They did our retaining wall and did a fantastic job. Walked us through the process of everything they were going to do and did it in 2.5 days! Can't recommend them enough.

No matter the season, Alden’s Landscaping & Excavation is the place to call!
This time for me it was for flower and rock gardens that needed clean-up, trimming and weeding.
Jonny, with his expertise handled it all. He systematically removed the weeds and low bushes covering plants in flat areas and hillside gardens.
He had all of the tools necessary for each and every job. He loaded all into the Longfellow’s truck and it was totally clear when the work was completed that day. All looked so fantastic!
Thank-you Jonny for all that you did and thanks to everyone on the Alden Longfellow’s Team! You truly are the best!

December 2024
We were in an unusual situation in December 2024 as I not able to get any of the fall leaves picked up before the next snowfall.
I called Longfellows thinking there was no way it would be possible that they might be able to do such a major fall leaf clean-up so late in the year.
Karen answered the phone and she was so great. She said she would forward the request.
I received a call right off and they said they thought they would be able to send a team and get it all done!
The Longfellow’s Team of three was beyond belief. Jonny, Zach and Ryan came and had three huge leaf blowers and the leaf vacuum truck.
The leaves were so wide spread on the steep gardens and lawn. When they started they did not stop until every leaf was piled and then removed into the truck.
They worked in such unison, it was amazing! Thank-you to Longfellow’s for all that they have done for us and for so many over the years and a huge thanks again to Karen, Jonny, Zach and Ryan!

Highly recommend these guys! So far they have done 4 big jobs for us... (Well big for us, but piece a cake for them) Quick with a free estimate, quality workmanship, friendly, and professional. No "can't see it from my house" attitude. They have gone that Xtra mile every time.
They added a circle driveway, rock wall, moved a pool deck, excavated and filled a pool area, (so we could expand our garden,) graveled behind our garage, and have mulched our almost half acre garden...
Without a doubt, we are so glad we found these guys, and you will be too!

We needed an area leveled in the yard for a swing set and had a pretty tight timeline. We saw Longfellow’s had completed a great job down the street, so we gave them a call. They were so fast! We had a quote in days and a plan to get the yard leveling sorted out with plenty of time before the swing set was delivered and installed. Super friendly people! Really a wonderful experience.

My experience was positive from beginning to end - timely response and communication, courteous interactions, and a careful and thorough job; no less for the small project I had at this time.

Joe and Tyler came for a full day of clearing out a bunch of invasive species, small trees, and overgrown shrubs throughout our property. They also cleaned up some garden beds and planted new shrubs. They were efficient, skilled, hard working, and a joy to work with! They were open to all of my ideas, offered some great ideas themselves, and did an amazing job of executing my vision.

My goal was to get rid of all invasive species and make space on my property for indigenous plants that will be a better habitat for the animals, birds, butterflies, and bees. I have plans to plant a lot of indigenous plants in the spring. I also wanted to clear a small wooded area on the side of our property so that it could be a fun outdoor play space for my child (see before and after pictures). They exceeded my expectations with all of this!

One of the toughest projects was excavating invasive barberry bushes and planting what will become beautiful robust winterberry bushes in one section of our yard (see before and after pictures). They did a fabulous job all around. I would hire Alden Longfellows Landscaping again without reservation!

We worked with Jon and Dan and were impressed with both. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and capable and produced excellent results. Best of all, they took advantage of material delays on another project to complete ours much sooner than planned. We’re happy with the outcome and will likely call them again.

I highly recommend Alden Longfellow's landscaping! We hired two guys for a full day and they did not disappoint. They worked hard for 10 hours straight and left our overgrown property looking like a real home! We wouldn't hesitate to hire them again in the future.

I couldn't be happier with their service and the results of their work, filling, grading and ditching our front yard to expand our lawn and allow it to drain properly.

Dan Longfellow provided the service that included moving large rocks, grading fixing water issues around a barn. He also fixed drainage issues with a paddock area and a pond. In addition we used granite to provide some much-needed steps. His work was first class and was very easy to work with. We would highly recommend Alden Longfellow's Landscaping and Excavation.

Alden Longfellow's Landscaping & Excavation did a substantial project for me with the total cost in the neighborhood of a price of a late model used car (filling grading and planting a lawn in a large area, in a relatively complicated location with a lot of obstacles). I was happy with how my input into the initial contract was handled. Work was completed ahead of schedule and below the originally estimated cost, because less material than originally estimated was used. I especially appreciate the care that was taken not to damage the existing structures and landscape. I do recommend this business.

I have used this business for two years and have been very pleased with the work done. My shrubs were trimmed recently. The crew was very careful to evaluate each grouping and type of shrub before trimming. It was a job well done,

This is the second time I've used them and they are very responsive and did a great job each time.

The company installed a new concrete paver walkway by first removing an old brick walkway and several pieces of landscaping. The work was well executed and the installer explained in detail what was to be done further answering questions throughout the process. The scope of work was modified somewhat to better adapt the yard area to the new walkway which the installer requested approval of prior.
Overall the job went very well and workmanship was excellent.
When the work was completed all equipment was removed without damage and driveway was swept leaving the are very clean.

Upon moving back to Maine after being gone for 20 years and requiring the best in the business only one name came to mind, Alden Longfellows. Asking around to be sure, everyone I asked agreed as well. From the landscaping and seasonal cleanups, to plowing and salting away harsh Maine winters, because of them, my yard is the best in the neighborhood.

John and his team have worked with our family home for a couple of years. A previous company had done a shotty job. Longfellow's came in, corrected the issues and have been with us since. From waking up the flower beds, to putting them to bed in the fall, John's team is knowledgeable and professional at every turn.

I requested a quote for landscape renovation of two large rock gardens in our front yard. John provided an estimate then came and did the work sooner than promised. His crew was professional and they took the time to teach me how to care for the plants and some tips on other aspects of the property. I would highly recommend them and have already contracted them for future work.

Not only do they do our annual spring cleanup, we also use their plowing and lawn care services. They are professional, courteous and the best lawn service company we have used. Highly recommend!

What an incredible job their team did. Work included trimming a tree & bushes, clearing under the tree & mulching.  Mulching along our house.  Extremely large are of bamboo was cleared.  Looking forward to a return sometime next year for more work.  Couldn't be any happier.

What an excellent job Alden Longfellow's Landscaping did by removing what I called a 'jungle' in front of my home to a beautiful trimmed and mulched landscape. They also uncovered my slate walkway back to its original installation. So pleased with their work. You will be too!
