Worst experience I’ve ever had. We were left stranded when they told us we couldn’t take our car as they didn’t know how to fix it. When I asked for a loaner they said they had none as they hadn’t anticipated the problem. Luckily, family could pick up, however, this was poor planning with no attempt to correct the situation. I will never come back once my lease is over.

Bought a car from VW back in January. Riley was GREAT to work with! Flash forward to now when I bring my car in for left front tire pressure loss. I was told by the service department I had a nail in my tire and they patched it for almost $80. I pick my car up that day with a dent. VW is now telling me that it did not happen at their shop. Prior to dropping my car off I had happened to look at that very side of my car because I had just taken it through a touch-less car wash and there was bird poop already on my car (as you can still see in the picture after picking my car up) right below the spot that would soon have a dent above my tail light.

That being said, VW said they aren’t going to be fixing the dent in my car and did not give me a quote to fix it but instead referred me to a separate company to get it fixed. Thankfully I have since gotten a quote to get my car fixed and would not recommend O’Connor VW to anyone. Please take your time to read other reviews about this dealership as I have now been reading reviews posted by other customers stating that their vehicles have also been damaged by O’Connor VW.

I would give them zero if I could. I needed a key made for my Volkswagen and the car was running great. I received a call the car was no longer running and it was the week before Christmas. I went and got a new battery and relays. Told that the key had nothing to do with it not starting, I asked if I could get it after Christmas. We were having a cold snap and I couldn’t afford the tow home. I went to call and they had it towed. By the time I called it was over a 1000$. No one called me, emailed me or wrote to me. All I have done is shell out money since dealing with them. Beware. If you want a transparent Maine company DO NOT GO HERE

Absolutely stellar customer service from Dustin, we were blown away by how thoroughly he explained every detail. He was personable, kind, patient, understanding, and gave personal opinions that I would not expect from just any car salesman. We came in to look at 3 different Taos models, and he made the decision process so much easier for us. The two other gentleman we encountered whose names I don't recall were fabulous as well. We left so happy with everything and it truly was the best experience.

One year anniversary(and a couple of months) after buying a used vehicle, Extremely happy buying a car from O'Connor Volkswagon. Simply walked into O Connor VW out of the blue as we were car shopping everywhere the entire length of Route 95 Portland to Waterville, Maine on a Saturday. Never been to the dealer before. We were from the Southern Somerset County Maine area.

Very happy with the vehicle. Sales people were polite ,laid-back friendly. Good crew of employees which can be rare at auto businesses. Also, who ever previously owned the vehicle we bought, would like to thank them too. Very obvious they took well care of the vehicle when they owned it---- Like Jimmy Durante use to say "Good night,,,wherever you are".

Consumer Reports will tell you--New Car dealers are the best place to buy a used vehicle as they come across many used vehicles but keep&sell only the top performing cream out the crop used vehicles on their lots. Absolutely true.

Other notables that come to mind.
Their lot has other vehicles not just VWs.
Their lot is easy to maneuver around to look at vehicles.

Given their general reputation, folks in automotive sales have a bit of an uphill battle when it comes to trust.

But let me tell you, Dustin at O'Connor VW is the real deal. From the moment I came across the car I had my eye on, he wasn't pushy and didn't pull any of that stereotypical stuff that makes your skin crawl. He was fair, honest, and I genuinely felt as though he was looking out for me - not putting on some show or keeping up a facade of friendship.

Trading in my old car had a couple of bumps, but Dustin flexed and worked with other folks at the dealership to make it happen. The value I received was fair and reflected the respect and care I put into my trade in.

And while I don't want to oversell or overpromise on your own experience - Dustin even went above and beyond after the sale, helping me tie up a couple loose ends with the car I purchased, illustrating that his service wasn't just an act to close a deal.

Overall, my experience with Dustin was outstanding. He's a true asset to O'Connor and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and helpful car buying experience.

I would like to first start my review by saying that I got a great deal on the truck price, which might answer the questions as to why I had so many problems…

When I purchased the vehicle back in April 2024, which is a 2015 GMC Sierra SLE pick up truck with 62,000 miles, I expected there to be a few issues with a 9 year old vehicle, scratches, etc. I was informed that the brakes were brand new. While test driving at the time, I heard squeezing and felt a little vibration when braking, but new brakes will sometimes do that. I also noticed that the dash said, “CAL”, which instead it should indicate the direction of travel (north,, south, etc) and when they sent the truck over to get the recall of the drivers side mirror done, they said they fixed the calibration of the GPS/Compass and I was told to drive, “a couple hundred miles” and it will be all set. Fast forward 10k miles and 2 months and still doesn’t work. The recall repaired mirror still vibrates, which is the recall itself. So I’m wondering if they even did it?

I reached out to the dealership and I was asked to reach out to service. They (service) told me I would need to drop the vehicle off for at least a day or two, without being offered a rental. Because I live 3+ hours away, I couldn’t afford to do that so I had the rear rotors replaced and then had to have the entire compass components replaced in order to get functionality of the compass. $1000ish later and it’s done.

I was referred to this dealership from a close friend of mine, who has referred several people of my understanding, but I would think long and hard before giving this dealership any of your hard earned money unless it’s a brand new vehicle under full warranty.

Even when I left the dealership, they told me that I do not get a full tank of gas when I buy a used vehicle there. Which I have never heard of before, but every dealership is different and I accepted it. At the same time they asked me to hold onto the note Through their finance company for at least three months so that they could get commission on it. I immediately changed banks because of the experience and never gave their financial institution a single payment before refinancing.

My sales person was awesome, but he could only give me the information that he was given and I hold no animosity towards him. I even reached out to him before making this review and he told me I was supposed to have been offered a rental, which I was not.

The whole buying process was easy and enjoyable! Dustin went above and beyond to accommodate us and get me into my Dream VW! Gary with Finance was so pleasant and professional over the phone, and Chris going out of his way to retrieve and drive back my atlas so it was ready for me on the day of purchase!! We are now forever customers of O’Connor Volkswagen!

I spoke at length on the phone before driving from Camden to have my sunroof repaired. When I arrived I discovered that the mechanic was unaware of the service bulletin, the vw patch kit, or the class action law suit that resulted in an extension of the warrantee. Apparently, my car did not qualify for any warranty coverage but still I would have expected the mechanic to be more knowledgeable. I was charged $150 plus to be told that it could not be repaired that day, and that I would need to take the car to an auto glass service to have the sunroof glass removed, then bring it back to O'Conner for a $4500 repair. It was an avoidable waste of time and money as the mechanic was not familiar with a well documented flaw in the sunroof, and I have no way to know that his diagnosis was correct.

Thanks for fixing my heater! There was a major lack of communication when it came to how long you would need my vehicle to fix it.
It took days:) I did get a loaner from you, though. And when I got my car back it had a gouge/scratch on driver door. I wish someone would have told me in advance. After this situation is resolved my rating will improve.

Poorly run service department. Thankfully this is only a lease vehicle and I won’t have to deal with them soon. 8am appointment for an oil change and to re sync key fobs. I called at 2pm to absolutely assure my car will be ready at 4pm, when my wife and 2 young kids will be picking it up (8hours after it was dropped off) 4pm car is not ready, not even at the VW dealership, 30 minutes later when I call the dealership it’s still not ready “but will be over soon”. “I thought it would be ready” was the only explanation given. Now I remember why I have bought 7 vehicles from Lee, and this will be my last time using O’Conner.

Since 2016, I have leased two cars (both Tiguan) and purchased two (Tiguan and Atlas Cross Sport) from O'Connor VW. From the first moment I walked into the showroom in 2016, I knew I was in the right place to find a car I would love; the entire team was helpful and made me feel right at home. At the time, I was a sophomore in college and did not have much money to spend on a vehicle. I needed something reliable and affordable, and I hoped for a bit of get up and go to boot! The sales staff helped me into a Tiguan, financing worked for me, and I loved the car so much that I bought one just like at the end of the lease. A couple of years later, I upgrade to an Atlas Cross Sport (I commute 70 miles a day), and this car is perfect for the trip and my small family. I love my ATLAS !

I also really appreciate the O'Connor VW Team! I want to mention Dustin, a fantastic salesperson; he didn't sell me the most expensive car (although he could have)- he sold me the one that was right for my situation! His knowledge and expertise in VW are excellent; he answered the questions before I had them.

Two years after the sale; I want to mention Sadie, an absolute service guru! I had an issue with my Atlas this past weekend: the temperature warning light went on even though the engine was cold (Maine - November). After the car warmed up, a bit went off - it was likely a bad sensor or coolant leak. I called Sadie at the VW service desk, and she had a good hunch about the issue; she offered to look at it the same day and top off my coolant fluid level - without an appointment! She took a look and was right: level just a bit low, topped it off at no charge! This just made my day. I was ready to pay hundreds for a fix that might have taken a while, but it ended up being swift, simple, and free because the folks at Conner VW are reasonable, honest, and understand that sometimes the small things count!

I want to thank Chris Crowell, the GM. The team you have assembled is comprised of absolute professionals, always putting the customer first. I will be back for years to come!

I bought my vehicle here a 2019 Kia Sorento and had a great experience!!! Was very pleased, they put a brand new sticker on before we left the lot it was great! Three months later come to find I need new front brakes and rotors they started squeaking no big deal those are wearable parts we did get the bumper to bumper warranty and these things happen. However if you put a new sticker on a vehicle technically in the state of Maine you shouldn’t need new brakes or rotors for a year. Again No big deal, I take it to my mechanic and he mentioned I had a cv boot leaking and I should take it to them because it definitely will be covered under my warranty. So I call and make an appointment tell them exactly what is wrong it’s two weeks out from the time I call, not a problem. I live thirty minutes away from Augusta and work an hour away. So today was my appointment I take half the day off work drive all the way down. The lady at the service desk was very nice she said to me you’re here for the leaking cv boot correct, I say yes. She says okay they will need to look it over make sure there are no other issues causing it to leak, you don’t want to have to do this again. I agree as I don’t want to have to do this again and thank her and go sit down. An hour and a half later she calls my name, I think great it’s done! HAHAHA NOPE! I’m told that the cv boot it’s actually part of my power terrain warranty which the KIA dealership will need to do! So you mean to tell me you couldn’t have figured/looked this up ahead of time before I waited two weeks for the appointment. Before I took a half a day off work, before I drove an hour to get there and before I sat in the waiting room for an hour and a half thinking it was being fixed! Just to be told I have to do this process all over again with a different dealership!?!?!? Beyond frustrating to say the least, again I had a great experience buying the car and everyone is very professional and pleasant to deal with but that was just a huge waste of time and money really disappointed!

Anytime I bring my car in for service, I am always treated with respect. They are very thorough and take good care of my car. This last time, I was in, I told them that the day before I had hit a pothole pretty hard and asked them to check my tire, rim and front end. They did and said everything was perfectly fine. They didn’t treat it as a trivial matter and that meant a lot to me. I love my Volkswagen and I want to take care of it and O’Connor’s helps me do that.

Recently purchased a 2021 Kia Seltos, today actually! Riley was super nice and personable, wasn’t just there to sell me a car ASAP. He wanted to know what I wanted and was comfortable with driving. Great, fair price for the vehicle. Price was $5000 under what competitors in Augusta were offering for the same make, model and year and the vehicle at Oconnors had over 12,000 less miles on it. I was quite nervous buying another vehicle after recently totaling mine, only being 19 and having lots of questions, but they were very friendly, patient and made it a smooth process. No pressure to buy or purchase anything and we’re completely understanding when my grandparents and I said we have appointments at other places and would look around before we gave them an answer. Gary the financial advisor was super personable, educated and knowledgeable about everything and answered all questions we had. They offer a super affordable warranty on their vehicles as well, bumper to bumper. Overall great experience! Hopefully I won’t be back anytime soon for another vehicle, but OConnors is definitely a great place to purchase your vehicle.

I spent $1,200 on four new tires and rear breaks with only 20,000 miles on the odometer. After only a couple thousand miles, the new tires were bald in the front. When I called to ask about this, they told me that an alignment was not performed because I had to ask for it. I've never been to a shop for new tires that did not perform an alignment as part of the service. It was always done and I would have to opt out if I didn't want it.

I tried to resolve this with the service advisor (the one who told me that I needed to ask for the alignment) and the general manager, and my concerns could not be resolved. I bought the vehicle new at this dealership and it is convenient to get it serviced there, but I cannot trust this shop to perform any more work. I would encourage you to seek your needed services elsewhere.

I was in for an oil change, tire rotation, and windshield wiper blades. I asked that the air filter, etc be checked and changed if needed. When my car was done I was told the filters didn’t need to be changed yet. I would have expected they’d be changed whether I needed them or not and that charge tacked onto my bill

Went to swap of winter/summer tire, oil engine change and 20k service. Took 3h15 to complete... ?! I came back home realizing I had a flat tire... I don't understand how they haven't seen this beofre I leave and also the 'service and oil change notification in my dashboard haven't been reset. I was expecting a lot better. In most places I went before for my tire they also took care of wrapping the tires and placing them well in the trunk. Nothing like that happenned at this dealership.

This was bar far the BEST experience my husband, and I have ever had. We have bought well… let’s just say WAY to many vehicles!! This by far was the easiest purchase ever! Dustin Kroesser was the best sales person we have ever had. He was, genuine, honest, extremely knowledgeable, and made sure to take all the time we needed to pick the right vehicle for us! He was so professional, and fun! All the people here are amazing. They gave us the best for our trade out of the gate, and the best deal they could with no pressure, We didn’t even have to haggle with them! Please do yourself a favor and go visit them you will be glad you did. Thank you to all who made our experience so great.

Sadie is a fantastic, consummately-customer-oriented service manager and "front person" for O'Connor.
She listens, gets the work requested done, and reports the results admirably. And gets us the "best deal"
possible at every service we have at O'Connor, whether it's our VW Alltrak, our Audi A3 or TT, or, we're sure, the ID.4 to come.
The service is done well, and subcontracted work like alignments also seem to be performed impeccably, every time.
[IF ONLY the "runners" would not readjust my driver's seat and the radio, O'C would be perfect!.]

I was able to get in within a week, I was greeted promptly and called with an update on what my Atlas needed. Everything went exactly how I expected it to. I have a follow up appointment for new tires, and a warranty ECT in a few weeks (which is also fine!) I love how clean and modern the building is, although I would love it even more if the VW garage was attached to the building but they make it work out just fine (very efficient process that does require staff to be on the same page, so this was impressive)

I love this dealership, and I have bought three vehicles from them. The atmosphere is welcoming, and you never feel pushed or rushed. My experience with Dustin in sales was excellent, as he accommodated my request for speed and efficiency, while also being thorough and friendly. I appreciated his sincerity and helpfulness throughout the process. Another great asset to this place is Sadie in the service department, a real professional who always explains things thoroughly and is so helpful and welcoming.
