Chris arrived right on time and completed the work (replaced mixing valve) in just over an hour, as he had estimated. He was courteous and professional, and the entire process could not have gone more smoothly. Chris cleaned the area thoroughly before leaving and then promptly emailed the billing details to me. Affordable Service Plumbing & Heating is my first call for any plumbing problem.

Reasonable price and great service. The plumber was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He ran into a couple of issues he was able to resolve without getting deeper into the outdoor plumbing installation. All in all a great experience.

The transition a few months ago from winter to summer was truly a very positive change from dealing with our swamp cooler.

I recently retired from a hospital in Santa Fe after 30+ years with some breaks to work OSP telephony, and as part of the construction team in the hospital working with contractors for our construction projects I have been around the trades; I know good contractors when I see them. Affordable Service is one of the best companies I've seen in many years. From our first contact with Thomas the day our AC failed, who had immediate answers about projected costs to us, to the company bringing two portable AC units to get us thru till installation of new system, to the employees who installed the HVAC system, Philip and John, to the employee who installed our new hot water tank, Mitchell, and to the employee who did our duct cleaning, Christian, this has been the most professional and friendly group of tradesmen I have had the experience to see work their craft. All work was done in one day. They arrived when they said the would and were prepared, they stayed to make sure we were satisfied with the whole project, and their work area was clean when they left.

As an aside, I asked every one of the people I had contact with if they liked working for Affordable. To a person, without exception, every one of them spoke very highly of the company. That tells me we were working with happy people who liked what they were doing, and so we got top notch quality work, and they're local in Rio Rancho, basically "right up the road" from us.

My only regret is that we didn't contact Affordable years ago.

Technician Randy Trujillo and his coworker were at site at specified time, introduced themselves and explained the installation process. The 2 man team worked straight through day until the AC UNIT was installed, after which they toured the unit with me and explained the operation requirements. Very professional, friendly and appreciated their attitude and assistance when I asked questions. Thank you gentlemen for a job well done.

We had Affordable Service install a multi-room mini-split a/c heat pump in our house two years ago. They did the whole job in one day at a reasonable price and everything worked fine for the past two years until a few weeks ago. The air conditioning stopped cooling. They sent an HVAC technician out fairly quickly and he determined that the system was low on refrigerant and obviously there was a leak somewhere in the system.
Since we were just past our two-year labor warranty, I was concerned that I would have to pay to trouble-shoot the system and find the leak. After a review by the management of Affordable Service, I was told that the leak detection and repair would be totally covered by the five-year workmanship part of the warranty. The repair was done by one of their senior technicians, Bill Norton, who did a great job to locate the leak and repair it, getting the system operational again in one day.
My wife and I want to thank the owners and management of Affordable Service for doing the right thing in trouble shooting and repairing the system under the workmanship warranty, especially in time for the hottest period of the year. We chose Affordable Service in part because of their favorable Google reviews, and it’s refreshing to find a company that honors their commitment to customer service.

Excellent service. Nathan arrived on time and was polite with a great attitude. Everything he did during the process of replacing the kitchen faucet and water shut-off valves was explained to me. He also showed me the cause of the leak. He took the time to answer all of my questions.. He is a young man who enjoys his job. This company is lucky to have him as an employee. Our air conditioner failed last night so after a night of no cooling with indoor temperatures climbing above 80 degrees we were desperate for help. When I called in the morning Orlando was very flexible with scheduling. Although they had a full schedule for today he promised to send someone in the afternoon if one of the techs finished in time and he guaranteed a service call at 8:00 am the next morning in case he could not send someone that day. Orlando called back 10 minutes later and said there was a cancellation and he could send Cody over right away. Cody arrived 10 minutes later (about 8:50 am) and very professionally troubleshot our system and solved the problem. He explained the issue very clearly and addressed the problem with technical expertise and integrity. We were back up and running in less than an hour at a modest cost.

Excellent service - timely, professional, honest. Highly recommended.

Chris arrived promptly and kindly listened to both my husband and I telling him our problems. He invited us to watch if we wanted explained everything so I could take notes and then when he presented us with our bill he explained what he was charging for what then casually added he had given us the military discount and we did not even ask he told us he saw our disabled license plate. All in all a great experience.

We always call affordable now, they repiped our house last year (2024) very courteous and mindful of the animals. We had a leak this week and Kurt came out and fixed it in a timely matter, he is always very nice.

Very fast and complete service. Was given a 2 hour window and Chris was there in the first half hour. Diagnosed the problem in minutes and effected the repair quickly.

He also managed to untangle the sprayer hose on my kitchen faucet. He was polite, professional and very knowledgeable. I am not sure I can accurately convey the grade A, top-notch customer service that we received in a review, but here goes! We called as the A/C was out on our rental property and the contracted company wouldn't be able to come out until the next day. Not ok when temps are reaching the triple digits.... I called Affordable Service and she said "oh we have a tech here who can leave right now" and he was at our house within 15 minutes. Within 40 minutes of my original call, they had dispatched a tech, he called me (Daniel, he was also so wonderful), and they had identified the problem and HAD THE PART on their truck, so they fixed it. Within 40 minutes, they had completely resolved my issue!! We will be calling them for any repairs regarding plumbing, heating, and A/C in the future. Every single person was incredibly nice as well as efficient. 10/10 recommend if you need these services.

Kevin has been great since we installed our heat pump system in April of '24. The system had a few problems at first but Kevin would come out to our house very quickly to make adjustments, etc. Finally got everything working perfectly. About a week ago my air conditioner suddenly stopped working. and it was really hot that day. I immediately called my go-to folks at Affordable, and they sent Daniel Garcia and his very capable apprentice, and they quickly diagnosed the problem as an electrical issue, and they got on the phone and made me an appointment with Affordable ace electrician Joshuah Salazar. Josh and his apprentice, Vico, came over and fixed my problem in less than one hour. I've been a loyal customer of Affordable for many years and they have never let me down or disappointed me. If you ever have a heating, plumbing or air conditioning problem don't hesitate to call them. They are the best!!!

Affordable Service came out fairly quickly and addressed our problem. Very professional, very reasonably priced. We will definitely use them again and will recommend them to our family and friends.

Had them out again on 7/29/2025 for AC maintenance for our Trane Heat Pump. On time, very professional, and very reasonably priced. They will be the first ones I will call if I ever have HVAC issues, I highly recommend. I should add that for many of their services they offer discounts for seniors, veterans and first responders.

Thank you Chris for your time & effort you placed during this ordeal I experienced with the heat over the weekend (due to cooler not operating).

This remains a mystery as to why cooler temporarily stopped functioning. HOWEVER, I much appreciate Chris’ knowledge in getting the cooler to work back to normal. I realize the importance of his time in having to return to deal with the issue. As usual, Chris understood my concerns & answered my questions. I am pleased that Chris took care of business WITH A SMILE & had a good outcome. I am confident Chris continues to be his very BEST!!

Nathaniel did a great job and fully explained the problem I was experiencing. Repair was completed and cooler runs perfectly. Review would be a 10 if not for cost. $229 for a service call plus parts seems excessive.
