Yesterday I thought I bought sliding glass doors for my addition. Now I realize I thought I had a bargain and paid the young man at the counter. I am an unemployed Veteran who has been married to a 100 percent disabled man.We live with our son that is active duty army coming off deployment. That money I paid was just about all the money that my son had. When I went to pick up the doors the man informed me that they had sold me the wrong doors and tried to raise the price 1000

Delivering here Jan. 9 2025. Pulled in at 7am was told they don’t touch loads until 8. I said that’s fine no problem just wanted to know where to pull to be out of the way. I pulled out of the way. There is snow on the ground here and where they had me pull the fork lifts can’t run so at 8 I backed up since no body had been moving since 715 am and guy walked over and was in such a bad mood for no reason. I told him I would gladly pull back to where he wanted me to was just you to make it easier on them since it was 8 they wouldn’t have to walk so far to talk to me. Dude went crazy telling me I could get the f out of his lot strap down in leave if I couldn’t follow orders. No reason it had to go to that extreme. I hadn’t been rude and rushing anyone. I don’t get why people are always in such a bad mood. This man said a lot more than that and I hope if he’s reading this he can get some help. That man had some problems if he gets that worked up over something that small.

I really loved my experience today at 84 lumber in Radcliff. They were so nice and so kind and so friendly to me and my son. We went in to get foam board and they cut it for us. They helped us load it they got it down for us. They were cordial. They were friendly. They were wonderful. They were awesome. We will make sure that we will always go back to them for all of our lumber and houseware needs.

Was looking for larger lumber and the big box store "highly" recommended I go to 84 Lumber. All these years I had thought 84 Lumber was only for commercial and contractor companies. How wrong I was. They were great, much better priced than the big box stores, knowledgeable, and courteous. They respect us veterans and I will be going back whenever I need lumber. I would definitely recommend them.

Came in on Saturday and had a great experience in the store. Staff was able to get me all the materials that i needed and even loaded my truck. I purchased some lumber for a deck project at home. And will definitely be back for my next project.

I ordered 10 sheets of metal here because I had previously ordered metal here with good results but this time my money was taken, order NEVER came, if I could it ZERO stars I would. When called no one knows where it is or when it will be in! Awful way to do business and "I DON'T KNOW " is NOT an excuse!

I sent a request for quote email to Chris that showed my entire deck dimensions all the way around my house. He used CAD software and created a deck plan that shows exactly what I need in order to build my deck and emailed it to me. The plan looked really good and had an accurate 1001 sq ft of decking boards needed listed out. So he sent me a quote for the package that was in the deck plan and I paid for it and had it delivered. I quoted with two other suppliers and 84 Lumber had the cheapest quote. So, I received the lumber and by the time I used up all my decking boards I realized that I was shorted by 277 sq ft of decking boards. I looked back at my quote and realized that for some reason his quote was 277 sq ft less than what his plan called out. No wonder his quote was cheaper. This was an approximate $450 - $500 mistake. I contacted Chris and he said he wasn't sure what happened. He messed up, that's what happened! So I was very decent about it and asked him to give me a quote on the 277 sq ft that he failed to put on the quote and he did. I also requested quotes from a couple other suppliers for the 277 sq ft of boards that I needed and found cheaper prices than 84 Lumber. I asked Chris to beat the price since it was his mistake (I didn't ask for anything for free) and this is a 45 min drive one way, and he would not even match the price and said sorry this was all he could do. I'm pretty sure he didn't want his boss to know he messed up and I'm pretty sure he didn't do anything to try to get the price down. I spent over $5000 with them this year and he couldn't even make up for his own mistake. So with that, I'm done with 84 Lumber. I won't be back. My experience with this company is something I will share with anyone that I know who needs building materials. They do not accept any accountability for their mistakes and will not make it right with you. If you do business with them, don't trust that everything is correct without checking every detail with a fine tooth comb. Or you may find later why their quote was cheaper.

Update: I told Chris I'm going to leave a Google review and here is his exact reply: " i will be sure to tuck my tail between my legs, and have boxes of tissues ready for the tear jerking post your going to post." I literally copied and pasted this from his reply in my email. So Chris messed up my order, gives me the highest quote out of 3 quotes, wouldn't acknowledge his mistake nor take ownership for it, and then has the audacity to write me this immature, unprofessional, rude, arrogant message. After receiving this message I am going to contact corporate and just send them the entire email string. That was real smart of him to put it in writing in an email.

Not a fan. I am building my first house and every window place tells you something different, they were fine to talk via e-mail, but when I stopped by to try and sort it out I over heard the sales reps frustration with me. I realize I made a lot of changes, but I’m not a professional and have a lot of questions. Needless to say I’m taking my business to someone who is willing to work with me as I learn about this craft.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
