At this point I am so ready to give the worst review possible. We had our windows installed 2 1/2 yrs ago & have had nothing but problems since! Including poor customer service & taking literally 6 months or more to fix something that needs a repair, which the repairs have been ongoing! The lifetime warranty is essential for these windows as we should just always have an appt set up so we can get things fixed when we need it!
The windows look nice from the outside is all I can say.
First we had at least 4 windows that leaked air when the cold wind would blow we could both hear it whistling & feel it when placing your hand near the window!
Second our living room large picture window has 3 windows, 2 end ones that open & the middle one is a stationary extra large picture window. The first winter, the sealed “gas” that is inside the triple pane that helps the windows prevent outside temperature transfer, is supposed to also prevent condensation from forming inside the window. One had turned white with condensation as the seal didn’t hold & was not helping to keep our home sealed. 2 years later & the unsealed whistling windows finally got replaced. The living room picture window also finally was replaced after at least 8 months.
Third the kitchen window has NEVER worked appropriately. Opened and closed ok to start, but was dragging on the weather stripping between the window & the frame. Finally couldn’t open it at all, I haven’t had a functioning kitchen window for THREE years now! They say they are coming to fix the kitchen window, again.. but the window is crooked in the opening! No matter how many times the weather stripping is fixed it will always be unsealed. I have a spider web inside between window & screen! It is so unsealed my meat thermometer showed 34 degrees INSIDE at the sink last winter!
Fourth- our sliding patio deck door was very nice to start, then the lock stopped working & we had to use a dowel to lock it. This wasn’t fixed for at least 8 months. When it was fixed, the handle was replaced. Worked ok for awhile. Now the handle has cracked in 2 places & barely able to lock it again!
I’ve asked for a regional manager to reach out to us, that hasn’t happened either!
We believe we were sold a product that hasn’t lived up to the hype told to us at our sales pitch & most DEFINITELY not the customer service they talked up as well. We paid close to 30,000$!!!
For example the money we would save on our heating bills!! Not when over half of our windows have leaked for more of the time we’ve had them than not! For the money we haven’t saved & for the time we’ve spent arranging repair guys to come do repairs & didn’t show up or outright canceled, or complete all the needed repairs and we took time off of work all of those times, we would feel better compensated if we received a rebate for some of the payment towards the healthy loan we still are paying on! OR a front door installed correctly at no cost to us!
We regret we went with this “Your Home Improvement Company”! Because they haven’t done what they told us they would for our home, not in any way!
Their commercials on the nightly news or during the Twins games, really irritate us, trying to do the same thing to many other people!
We live in Bismarck ND & the company is based in St Cloud, maybe it’s the distance or that the repair crew in Bismarck is worse than other places, however all of these are arranged through the St Cloud home office. We didn’t sign up for this treatment! The owner should take note & make it right for us, we can only tell all our friends & family… DON’T USE “YOUR HOME IMPROVEMENT COMPANY”! Our neighbors have asked & we said.. DONT USE “Your Home Improvement” company!
