Who expects a full roof replacement to be such a positive experience you don't mind the significant financial investment you've just made, especially without making an insurance claim?
Having to spend money on a new roof, gutters, leaf guards, solar vent fans and a chimney rebuild?
We couldn't have asked for a better, more professional, experience than we just had in May, 2025, with the Laizure family and their Whirlwind Roofing and Construction company.
From the time Dave, the family patriarch of this family-owned and operated business, showed up for our initial estimate inspection, he was professional, good-natured, informative and thorough, and even returned twice before we signed the contract for work to begin when high wind events in March and April blew old shingles from our roof.
Dave climbed up and re-secured them, and turned down my offer to pay him for the trip from Bixby to Sand Springs, or even just to reimburse him for what I imagined were his Creek Turnpike toll charges.
Daughter Brooke in the office took care of all the material and logistical sides of such a job, even trying to find my initial choice of shingle, from Malarkey, in green.
Though Malarkey stopped making green shingles several years ago, Brooke still tried to find them, even asking her Malarkey rep if they might make a special run of green, in the end, to no avail.
Still, she was on top of every detail from her side of things, always professional, courteous and communicative as the job approached, and then as it was carried out, and finally, in putting together a comprehensive package of registration materials upon its completion.
She even took part in debris clean-up on two very hot days.
Family matriarch Debra delivered drinks and lunches for the work crews, along with some additional materials that Dave added to the job.
And son Adam spent an entire Saturday, crouched on a small section of the roof, making extensive repairs of mistakes the builder made 26 years ago that had resulted in an occasional, frustrating ceiling leak that has now been solved.
Dave stays on the job all day, and after the crews have left for the day, he climbs up, walking the rooftop to make sure the work has been done professionally and correctly.
He says he does that because his name is on the final project, and he wants it to be done correctly.
We ended up with a beautiful new Owens-Corning Chateau Green Class 3 roof, gutters, leaf guards, solar vent fans, a rebuilt chimney and new Hardiplank siding in places that had probably been damaged by the last roof crew in 2008.
Whirlwind Roofing and the Laizure family have our appreciation and thanks, and our unconditional and full-throated recommendation, for A+, top-notch quality work, done as only a family business whose members zealously treasure and protect their reputation for quality work could do!

*This review, as I originally wrote it, was much too long and detailed for Google's word limit, so this is an edited and abridged version of what I hoped to be a much longer review of all the good work the Laizure's provided on this project for our home.
We're very pleased that we found Whirlwind, and that we benefitted from the Laizure's commitment to quality and their pride in the work they do with the men they employ to do a very difficult, dangerous and exhausting job.
Dave provides for the delivery of a portable toilet for his crews, along with lunches and drinks.
He'll also set up a portable table for them at which to have lunch, beneath a portable tent to be out of the Sun, if need be.
On this job, they set up inside the shade of our garage.
But such extra steps are a product of Dave's work ethic and concern for his crews, as he himself worked roofing jobs earlier in his career, so he knows the hard, demanding work those men put in.
And our job was no doubt made tougher because of my extensive foundational plantings and native plant beds, all of which survived with minimal damage to the flowers, and they were respectful of the situation and worked to avoid damage to the flora, probably through gritted teeth!

We called and they came out quickly to look at our roof. The price quote was quick and the job was done on the next dry day. It all went well and we are so happy with the outcome.
They were very accommodating and went over and above just replacing the roof by helping us with an exhaust problem.

Dave, Adam, and Brooke were great to work with throughout the entire process of having our roof repaired after it sustained some wind damage. The result looks great to the extent that I can't tell where the affected part was! They provided lots of before and after pictures, and the estimate signature and invoice payment process were quick and easy! Thank you, Whirlwind!

Roof and gutters were put on quickly. They fixed the damage to my siding also. Roof looks great. Everyone was very friendly. They were very considerate to make sure that I was satisfied with all of the work that was done.

Came out on a Saturday to diagnose a small leak and went above and beyond when correcting the issue. Ended up being a minor issue but they took the time to make sure it was repaired properly.

On the night of the tornado activity in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in June 2023,, I was in my bathtub hiding with my dogs and cat hearing things smack the house. I knew at that time that I needed to call my friends over at Whirlwind Roofing! So with pillows piled on top of me and the animals, I texted Whirlwind to let them know I needed them to come out and look at my property and my roof. The next day they were inspecting the damage seeing that my tree in the front had broken and fallen on the front of the house, and that some of the metal facia had ripped off the house swirled around and ended up in the backyard. We had straight winds and tornadic winds, ripping and lifting shingles off the roof as well.

It was a real pleasure working with the Whirlwind folks. They went above and beyond when the insurance company asked them to come back on four different occasions to justify any damage. In the end, the insurance company only approved a portion of the damage, but at least I knew I had a roofer who could fix the whole thing and do so professionally. They gave me options and several different estimates. I appreciate the personal touch and the experience associated working with Whirlwind. I can highly recommend them.

Plus, I’ve known the family for many years and can attest that they are honest and understand your problems.

I opted for a solar attic fan, which you can see in the pictures and you can also see the tiles I selected are darker than what was originally on the house. Great experience.

Above and beyond, this is a great company you will not regret using them, they do not tolerate shortcuts, I would give more stars if possible

After the hail storms and heavy rain this year we had several leaking spots on our roof and couldn’t have been happier to have whirlwind out. They are a family owned operation that were precise and incredibly professional which made sense because one of the owners just won National women’s roofer of the year. We will choose whirlwind for any roofing issues from here on out. Thank you to the team that came out to help!

I’d add more stars to this review if I could. We were very impressed with the service we received from Whirlwind. They delivered a thorough report very quickly, and their prices were fair compared to the other quotes we received. They had us worked into their schedule and fixed up within a week despite the fact that we needed a piece of metal custom welded. They also excelled with communication and follow through — I knew exactly where the project was at each step even when I was traveling and hard to reach.

Incredible company! We had a large hail storm. Adam and Dave were doing some free inspections and estimates in our neighborhood. They called and came by our house to inspect for any damage. I can not tell you how much I appreciate their hard work and dedication! Not only are they incredibly knowledgeable, they are incredible people and truly care about their community, friends and family!!

Whirlwind is a great company to work with. Dave took the time to talk to me about my roofing needs and seemed to want the best for us. Brooke was always pleasant and patient on the phone. The work was fast and efficient.

I have used this company for years and there is no one better ! They will work to get your insurance company to pay what you are entitled to . Very professional and honest! The work is done right and Dave personally followed up after completion. Whirlwind just did my mother in law's roof after the recent storm . We could not be more pleased. They are local, family owned and run and will do a great job for you !

Whirlwind roofing company is extremely unprofessional. We explained from the beginning that our roof would be funded by a claim with our insurance company. They accepted the 22,000 to begin the job, once completed they wanted payment that week. We explained that our insurance company required an invoice which they provided but they wanted payment "that day". When we again explained that the remainder of our fees (17,000) were be funded by the insurance company who HAD APPROVED the claim and funds were on the way, that was not good enough. They wanted payment "today or we will file a lien on your home". Whirlwind kept insisting that we asked for a "retail quote" not an insurance quote...I don't even know what that is?! Then proceeded to call my husband and I both liars. The company was acting as if we were purposely withholding insurance reimbursement from them. Then they said "aren't you bigshots, can't you move money around and pay today". They were HARRASSING, unprofessional, and abusive. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE.

This is an excellent example of a quality family-owned business. We received heavy damage to our roof during the severe winds of ~ 100 mph that struck our area on June 17.

I reached out to Whirlwind, and Mr. Dave Laizure showed up quickly with Adam to inspect our roof. The extensive damage was apparent, and the drone took excellent pictures. Dave & Adam did a wonderful job of explaining everything to my wife & I. Brooke had great customer service and coordinated everything from the Whirlwind office.

Our house is a tall historic home, and Adam made it look easy scaling the ladder and climbing onto our roof. On repair day, the actual temp was around 105 degrees, and our roof was much hotter. Adam worked his tail off all day in the intense heat. Dave & Adam went above and beyond to make sure our roof was repaired and ready for the next storm. The quality and value were both superb. I will definitely use Whirlwind Roofing in the future, and you should too!

The Whirlwind team is incredible!! Called Whirlwind to help with a roof leak after a bad storm came through. They were able to come out immediately and help mitigate the damage with some temporary fixes until the real work could begin. I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to praising this company and the family who own and run it. Dave and Adam came to our rescue after we had experienced some bad roofing work on our home. The time they spent explaining how roofing works, to the finished product was nothing but kindness, experience and organization. When they came to do the work everyone was involved. The work was organized, Dave and Adam were on the roof watching and helping as the crew installed our new roof. Not only did they take care of us as the homeowners but they also took care of their crew with having water ready, bathroom facilities and all the materials needed and some for “just in case” we run into an issue as the roof was installed. Whirlwind roofing did a full roof replacement including replacement of the roof deck and adding vented drip edge in March 2022. The quality of work and attention to every detail by Dave, Adam and their crew was amazing! I am extremely pleased with my new roof and just want to say if you want quality workmanship with a personal touch you won’t go wrong using Whirlwind.

Whirlwind has done multiple projects at my home in the past 2 years. Dave has displayed excellent professionalism and communication throughout the projects. When applicable he has even sent pictures as the project was ongoing to document the process. Dave at Whirlwind Roofing is one of the kindest people I've had the pleasure of interacting with in home repair. We are having an issue with a roof leak after just being in our brand new home for 3 years. I called Whirlwind to get them to take a look at the leak and see what they recommended. Not only did Dave come by, take pictures and explain the issue, but he took the time to write up his inspection, send me the photos he took, and also sent me building code to show my builder that how they installed my roof was incorrect. I was getting ready to sell my house and was hoping I didn't need to replace my roof. Whirlwind was wonderful and only replaced the tiles that needed it. I was also on a tight schedule. They fit me in, and worked late so I could meet my closing deadline. They were professional and used high quality materials according to the loan inspector for the buyers. I love the fact they are local and have been in the roofing business for several years. I would highly recommend them!

Our home had an old roof when we moved in. We had experienced some some other roofing companies that didn’t meet our expectations, so when a friend referred us to Whirlwind we gave them a call. That very same day they came out to repair a leak. A few years passed and they had been by a few other times making repairs to help me stretch out the life of the old roof.

Then, in May 2022 we experienced a hailstorm that left considerable damage. At first, our homeowners insurance denied our claim, but their expertise in that area helped to appeal that denial, and our claim was approved! That was such a weight off of our shoulders. Other companies had just taken an insurance denial as a loss and walked away. Not Whirlwind. They stuck it out and we are so grateful for it.

All in all, the hail/wind claim involved redecking, a new roof, new gutters, interior drywall/paint and more. It was all orchestrated like a finely tuned machine.

The Laizure's run one of the most honest operations I've had the pleasure of running across. Their willingness and knowledge to help from start to finish is truly outstanding. I was always told insurance work is daunting but it doesn't have to be if you have someone like Whirlwind Roofing. They provided the option to either be involved 100% in the process or to let them handle most of the heavy lifting. As a working person, it's nice not to have to stop my life for a project. Whirlwind Roofing came to my house and inspected my roof and the owners David and Brooke Laizure told me I really didn't need to replace my roof at this time, which was very good news to me. While inspecting the roof they saw rust on the attic fans vents so they had Adam repair them and then painted both vents at NO COST to me. When the time comes to replace my roof it will be Whirlwind that will get the job.

FANTASTIC Customer service! Dave, Brooke, and Adam bent over backwards to get my roof repaired. Dave himself was at my house after 6pm making sure material was there and that the crew was ready for work the next day. They are very knowledgeable and will make sure you are happy with the results of the job.

The folks at Whirlwind made the entire process from start to finish extremely easy. They were extremely professional and trustworthy. I highly recommend them and will use Whirlwind again for any of my home repair needs!

It was all smiles and jokes until I said NO to him using his guy to uninstall/reinstall my gutters before getting my roof (nullifying my warranty). It went downhill from there. Poor workmanship. They didn't even glue down the shingles on an entire side of the roof of my garage. The entire edge started curling. Workers bled all over my white house. I didn't see it right away. By then it was permanently stained. I had to paint it to cover the blood. In general the roof looks ok. But, I would never recommend this company to anyone. The cost is too high.
