I would have given them a zero if possible! DO NOT purchase metal from these people. Their website is a lie. They lie to you and gaslight. When you try to complain, no one responds! I was trying to change our sales rep because he does not deserve our business! I tried to get the name and contact information of his direct supervisor. Three different people refused to give me the information of the person I was trying to file a complaint about. One never responded, another told me to talk to the sales rep directly and the last person told me to send my complaint via the sales email. YEA......this is who they really are! I guess they cover for each other.

Martin was able to us with initial brochures, color samples, and product sample. Easy ordering via email and web payment (project in New Mexico mountains). Materials had a short lead time for 'will call' pick up and yard staff were outstanding at quick loading for my 700 mile turn around. Then when I was short due to my miscalculation Martin and crew promptly provided a small pre-cut size order to complete the siding before winter rolled in. Board and batten siding pieces (up to 14' sections) were simple to install, durable and fire resistant in the alpine environment. Neighbors and other contractors were impressed with product and maybe more orders will be in Western States future.

Update: rep from Phoenix called for a cancellation to a quote and I told them about my issue. They said they were reaching out to Tucson office and that was last I heard. Again, taking care of people isn't a priority. They had to redo my ridge cap as again it was incorrect pitch for our roof which was appreciated but kindov nessesary on their part. No response on all the other messed up stuff that even sales manager said was caused by poor labor in Phoenix. So still nothing is done.

Metal roofing is not my specialty as a work primarily on asphalt. However we want to install on my own home to test out in our neighborhood and for solar installation and longevity.

Reached out to metal Western States and late March / early April to get a quote and submitted blueprints to them for ease of quote.

Not been very happy with the product quality and communication. If you're curious for more read below.

Delivery was a poor experience as they do not set it up for removal even with a forklift I don't see how it would be possible but two men is not an option as they told us. During assembly different parts were bent that were not supposed to be bent and parts that needed to be bent were not done correctly either. Furthermore explained to the sales rep that I was installing gutters and supposedly updated the product to meet that but instead did not advise us further and we had to go back and forth to figure out a solution causing additional delays.

They did not bend our metal 1.5 in 12 instead set it to 4 and 12 default which also caused additional delays and modification. I have expressed my frustration to the office in person and asked that I speak to supervisor my request was placed in queue and I doubt I'll ever hear back if I do hear back from a supervisor to address my concerns. I will revise my feedback but as of now I'm not happy with the level of customer service we've received.

The customer service has been very poor and does not match up with the companies website claims of supporting DIY projects. we started working with western states almost 3 months ago. I have called twice to try and get a different person to work with (once after my first phone call with the sales rep and once recently) and each time I was routed back to the same individual. The last call ended in me asking for a supervisor or someone else to finish our order with- I was promised someone would reach out Monday and nothing as of Wednesday. We love the products and we were looking forward to purchasing a complete roof, soffit, siding and trim package. We also have a local small woman owned business gen contractor who has never done metal jobs before, is interested in it for her new builds and was going to learn with us on our project. We got to the point (with very minimal assistance from the sales rep) where we just needed confirmation on a few tech specs such as which trim pieces will for sure work with our metal siding options and a double check that we got everything covered and it will all work together. Given my interactions with the sales rep It seems the rep doesn’t have adequate knowledge of the products and absolutely refused to provide any guidance/technical assistance (which is strange given the website self help videos provide guidance such as how many extra inches you should order for each side of your window trim to allow for proper install). We would be open to working with someone else who has a better handle on the products and can provide the kind of assistance I see in other reviews of this company- however I don’t know where to turn to at this point. Should anyone higher up see this timely Id be open to a call for further discussion.

Update:
We got contacted and reassigned an excellent sales rep- who made it right!

When calling the Tucson location try getting Martin for customer service, he is very professional, knowledgeable and efficient. if you call and they ask you to get in touch with your sales rep, I find this very unpleasant and time consuming. I have experienced some sales reps to be condescending and unhelpful.

I hope you are a professional roofer and know exactly what to order. I am a diy'er wanting some help. I got my list down to Western lock, color, 4 piece gable, eave trim, measurements, etc and after a couple of weeks just more emails back saying your list is not good enough you need to be more specific. They would not help me get my list together and couldn't order from them.

Just wanted to say that Martin and Western States have allowed me to replace my roof with all of the trim pieces and accesories that I need. I'm able to put on a $18K roof for about $5k. Martin, Noelle and Rafa were all awesome at their jobs and helped me with questions orders and loading. Great team!

Martin at Western States Metal Roofing made ordering my metal roof simple! The ordering process was handled very professionally. Prompt and clear paperwork so that you feel confident that the order is being processed correctly and quickly. There was also follow up correspondence that kept me up to date regarding the order status. I would recommend them to my friends.

I just used Western States for the first time and was extremely happy with the quality of the metal roofing panels and the customer service. Martin did a great job helping me out with all of my trim pieces. We bought corrugated metal roofing and the pricing was better than I found elsewhere. Also we got the material within the two weeks that it was promised to us. Thank you for a job well done!!

Service questions

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
