I just wanted to share a great experience we had with Virgil and Masterpiece Contracting. He recently helped us with a kitchen remodel, closet extension, new garage door, and exterior stucco/paint and we couldn’t be happier with the results!

Virgil was professional, reliable, and easy to work with — always showing up on time and keeping us updated throughout the project. The quality of work was excellent, and he quickly addressed any issues/changes that came up.

Virgil came up with several design ideas that we love and never would have thought of ourselves. He even had his guys fix things that we would never have noticed, his focus on the small details really sets him apart.

We suffered an unexpected leak in one of our upstairs bathrooms, and needed to find a company that did demo, repairs, and new builds. After researching and meeting with a number of contractors, we decided to go with Masterpiece Contracting. From the very beginning Virgil made us feel at ease, despite it being such a stressful situation. We made him aware early on that we would need his help coordinating with our insurance company, which was something he was more than willing to do. We also had to rely on his expertise for some functionality and design decisions, which again he truly excelled at.

This was a massive undertaking where we needed to take two upstairs bathrooms down to the sub-floors and rebuild them from scratch. There was an unexpected setback in which their expert plumber identified that our 40 year old ABS pipes were brittle and likely to cause further leaks. They worked with us on putting together a change order to totally replace all of the 2nd floor plumbing so that we would have peace of mind for years to come. They were able to do all of this additional work without missing a beat and it only added a few days to the overall project.

Virgil and his entire team were pleasant, respectful of our home, and paid incredible attention to detail. They followed our general guidance, offering helpful suggestions along the way that made the final outcome even better than we imagined. The quality of the craftsmanship is outstanding, and every aspect of the bathrooms; from the tiling to the plumbing and fixtures, was all done beautifully.

Communication was excellent throughout the project, and they kept us updated every step of the way. We truly appreciated their transparency and dedication to ensuring we were happy with the end result.

When we decided to renovate our kitchen, we met with a number of contractors. After speaking with several people, we picked Masterpiece Contracting. Virgil Marchis of Masterpiece Contracting built new cabinets for our kitchen island, expanding the kitchen storage, and increasing the size of the kitchen island. We are very impressed with the quality of the workmanship in the new cabinetry. Masterpiece Contracting made a custom stain to exactly match our existing kitchen cabinets, and also copied the style, so that you’d never know that the kitchen island cabinets were added at a later date. Further, the quality of the cabinets is actually superior to the pre-existing name-brand kitchen cabinets that the builder provided: these are solid wood cabinets and shelves. Masterpiece Contracting even fixed a bathroom cabinet that has always bothered us (the builder mounted a toilet paper holder on the side of the cabinet, leaving screws exposed inside the cabinet). They replaced that side of the cabinet, again matching the stain and style perfectly. And since they had already matched our stain perfectly, they also touched up some decade-old wear and tear on the existing cabinets – now everything looks like its brand new! Everyone we dealt with was patient, knowledgeable, and kind. They cleaned up after themselves as they worked, and left the house in great shape. We could not recommend them more highly: if you are looking for this type of work, please reach out to Virgil and have him come to your home. You will not be sorry.

We have worked with other contractors on various remodel projects, both in Arizona and South Dakota, and our experiences have not always been the best. So, I was somewhat nervous about our latest project, a complete remodel of our kitchen in our Arizona condo. We are snowbirds, and have very little knowledge of local contractors. We selected Masterpiece Contracting based entirely on the fantastic reviews we saw online, and crossed our fingers that we would have a similar experience.

From the first day we met Virgil to discuss our vision, to the final day when the project was completed, we were continuously impressed by Virgil’s professionalism, attention to detail and immediate response to our questions. The entire process was seamless. We wanted Virgil to complete our project while we were gone for 12 days in Hawaii so we didn’t have to be around for the demo and construction mess. I had some anxiety about this, as I am a bit of a control freak. My worries went out the door when our plane landed in Hawaii, I looked at my phone and found a text from Virgil showing everything they had already done in the few hours we were gone. This was so unexpected and very much appreciated. Virgil texted us every day with pictures/videos and updates on the project, so we always knew what was going on. Our entire project was completed in just 11 days. It was a surreal experience to come back from vacation and see my entire kitchen transformed.

I can’t possibly cover everything that made this such a positive experience, but here are some of the highlights:
• After our first visit to discuss the project, we were given a detailed, line-item quote for every piece of the project (demo, new flooring, new countertops, backsplash, painted cabinets, cut down bar area, etc). We knew what our material budget was for each product, and we had a final total cost. This was immensely helpful in determining how to budget and plan for this project.
• We made some changes midstream, and Virgil was very flexible in working to incorporate these changes on the fly.
• There were so many moving parts and a very tight timeframe to complete this project. Virgil’s ability to coordinate his team and have the correct people there on any given day was quite impressive.
• We really appreciated Virgil’s almost immediate response to our texts, phone calls and emails, even when we did not expect a response (i.e. on weekends, evenings, etc.). His emphasis on customer service is unmatched.
• Virgil’s team took great care to protect our carpet and furnishings during construction.
• We picked out new appliances prior to leaving town, and had them delivered while we were gone. Virgil was there in person when they were delivered, and confirmed there was no damage and everything worked. He texted us pictures as this was taking place.
• We returned from Hawaii on the weekend, I sent Virgil an email on Sunday night with a list of some minor touch-ups that needed to be done, and he had his team out early the next day. Not only did they complete everything on the list that morning, but they removed a phone jack and repaired the wall…a very last minute request on my part.

This was the best remodel experience we have ever had. We will definitely be using Masterpiece Contracting for any future projects, and will recommend them to our friends and family as well!

I have been a construction project manager for 40 years and know a good contractor when I see them. I have rarely found contractors as good as Masterpiece Contracting. They were easy to work with and gave me exactly what I wanted. The workmanship was excellent and their management of the permitting, inspections, billing and scheduling was timely and professional. Masterpiece Contracting makes Exceptional Customer Service their mission. From several freebees on our project to late-night and early-morning communication and advice about design—Virgil and his team has exceeded expectations, and, I believe, set a new standard for contractors.

Back in February of 2024, we were planning a large-scale renovation of a four-bedroom home willed to me and my husband by my husband’s late parents. This home was not only stuck in the 1980’s design-wise, but it needed drywall repairs, entirely new flooring, countertops, paint, a new water heating system, and updated kitchens and bathrooms. This was a full-house project—and an additional wrinkle: this house was in Arizona, and we were currently living in New York.

From the get-go, Virgil was immensely communicative, diligent, and detail oriented. When the project started in mid-April, I talked to Virgil almost every single day. I would text him at 9am NY time, and he would respond almost immediately (6am AZ time). He helped us with everything from choosing paint colors, to tile, and fixtures. He sent us photos to update us sometimes multiple times per week, and I never had any doubts about the state of the project, despite being 2,000 miles away.

He and his team are immensely trustworthy. He measured everything in his estimates (then measured (and remeasured!) to make sure everything was correct). We were able to count on his team to be on time at the location and diligently working throughout the day.

What really impressed me the most is what lengths Virgil went through to ensure we were happy with the project, both along the way and at the end. Virgil is a perfectionist, so if something was even a bit off—whether it’s a fixture I decided I want in another room or adjusting a light switch that is tilted a fraction of a degree, he treated every detail like it was significant.

The project was expertly managed and by June 1st, Virgil and his team had successfully finished painting the entire interior of the house (approx. 2500sqft), setting new baseboards, updating the cabinets, panting all the cabinets and doors in the house (including closet doors and vanities), installing our appliances, tiling the entire downstairs flooring, updating and tiling three bathrooms, including fixtures, handles and installing a standing tub in the bathroom upstairs,—his team had done it all. We were able to move in without a hitch (we had our fireplace and kitchen backsplash done a bit later by them—with masterful precision), but what was particularly impressive was that the day we flew in, Virgil came to our home to walk us through the home and the work in person.

Virgil is an amazing person not just to work with but to know. He has an incredible team and a myriad of connections. Whenever we have a problem (plumbing, insulation, roofing, whatever), we know we can reach out to him. He knows someone reliable and that is immensely important in today’s world. He got us a decent price on insultation (installed quickly this summer) which saves us at least $200 more on electricity per month). In fact, Virgil saved us thousands of dollars on this project and guarantees the work he does—If something is not to his and your standards, or if there is some mistake, it will be quickly and graciously corrected at no cost to you.

Virgil and his team have more than given us an absolutely beautiful house, but also a way to honor and cherish the memory of my husband’s late parents. Masterpiece Contracting will continue to have my business, and I would strongly recommend them to anyone wanting to fix or update their current home.

We absolutely love the work Masterpiece did on our tiny (formerly not very functional) kitchen! Every thing feels open and beautiful. Virgil and Daniel were very responsive and helpful throughout the process. They were reasonable and transparent about pricing as well. We are saving up for them to work on our bathroom with them eventually!

I highly recommend Masterpiece Contracting for your construction needs. When speaking with the owner or his crew they were all professional,knowledgeable and courteous. They recently repaired part of my garage frame, stucco and paint. Also, very mindful of not leaving any mess behind. I’m very pleased with the outcome.

Virgil and Daniel are great to work with, very professional communicated throughout the project and, they have a great crew that are experts in their areas of specialty. These guys are just awesome. The work is profesional. People in the company are polite, patient and flexible. They took up our assignment and gave us the results we were expecting in the timeline we promised.

Virgil and his crew took our bathrooms to a level beyond our expectations! Our laundry room storage addition was worth its weight in gold and our new plush carpet gives us the true home sweet home finish we have been dreaming of. We had a few setbacks and delays as any long anticipated renovation project might expect but Virgil and his team were ALWAYS responsive, communicative, friendly and expedient to ensure our project kept moving forward. Masterpiece Contracting crew was awesome. They did a great job completing my bathroom remodeling. Lucian & John (tiled/painted, hung door, installed mirror and faucet), electricians, custom vanity maker, and slab installers all did an awesome job in their respective areas. Daniel managed the project, provided great expertise in selecting a countertop slab that compliments the previously installed shower and tub surround, and provided finishing touches on the project.

This is the second contracting job that Masterpiece Contracting has done for me. The first job was to extend our back patio cover. This was in 2024. Virgil exceeded every expectation. They did such a great job we hired them a second time to remodel our laundry room. It’s a decent sized room, but not a very large room. My wife took her time looking through magazines, model homes and pictures on the Internet. After she decided what she wanted we called Virgil and showed him the pictures of the cabinets, sink, countertops and the basic design, he measured the room, asked questions. After a few days he came back and showed us the dimensioned drawings of the design we discussed. He gave us a few days to make any changes and when we got back together, we finished the design. Virgil revised the drawings and sent them back to us with a quote which we signed. I should emphasize the cabinets are of the highest quality. They are made with all wood and real wood. No mason board and no wafer board. The door hinges and drawer returns are hydraulic and self close. There is a baseboard light below the dual pantry, which comes on automatically by way of a motion sensor. The laundry room is complete now and we could not be happier. My wife told me she’s happy to wash clothes now - ha! We have two more rooms to remodel and we plan to hire Virgil to do the work.
