I called Ernie based on a recommendation from my plumber. I've owned the house for 10 years but had not yet needed a roofer. Ernie responded immediately, coordinated with my tenants (as I am out of state), fixed the leak and was the utmost professional. I know I have more roof repairs in my future as nothing lasts forever and he will be my 1st call!

Working in Burke recently I came across a sewer pipe installed in the exterior wall of the home. The easiest way to access this was from outside. After talking with the homeowner of this cedar shake roofed home, he referred us to Ernie with Western, so I have Ernie a call, he came out same day, and removed the exterior layers of the wall, so I could access the pipe, and reinstalled same day. What an incredible individual Ernie is. I was amazed at his ability to do that work without damaging a single piece of it! They don't make em like you anymore!
Job well down Sir.

Western Ceadar replaced my roof 15 years ago. Today it is need of repair as many of the shingles are loose or missing especially at the peaks. I called Ernie Fore who said he came out to look at my roof and would get back to me with a repair estimate. Since then I have left at least four messages for him to get back in touch with me to no avail.I am very dissappointed in Ernie Fore as he did not follow through with what he said he would do and therefore cannot recommend Western Cedar Roofing.

In 2009 Ernie Fore's Western Cedar Roofing crew replaced the cedar shake roof at our home in Annandale, Virginia. They gave us the best roof of all of the homes in our 175 townhome community. They installed more shingle courses per vertical linear foot ensuring sturdier and more lasting construction, made certain that each course was straight and true, and carefully lapped the corner joints (in stark contrast to the sloppy, open butt joints that prevail in our community). They just did outstanding work. If you need a new cedar shake roof or a repair to an existing roof don't let anyone but Western Cedar Roofing do the job for you.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
