We have a Tudor home and collected various estimates from stucco and wood trim contractors. On a whim, I decided to check into Hardie board and was thrilled to know they make a stucco option (less than HALF the cost of real stucco and avoid all the complications of stucco in this climate). Sunshine did amazing. You can see we have A LOT of trim and unique cuts, and they were up for the task. They are easy to work with, honest, and their work is great quality.

I replaced the aging siding on my house and Sunshine Contacting was fantastic. They were better priced than the competitors. They even gave me multiple quotes for a few different options I was considering. They gave me some time to do my research and shop my options. They never got pushy or pressured me to make a sale. When I was ready, they came back out and gave me a refresher on all the stuff we had talked about previously

The crew that came out and did the work was great. They took care of my yard during the process. In the end, the siding looks great and the quality of work looks great. And the end price was inline with the quote they gave me. No surprise extra costs. I'm a happy customer and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sunshine to a friend.

We are very happy with our recent siding project! The Sunshine team worked with us on design, color, and trim selections, and Sunshine’s pricing was very competitive in comparison with other contractors we obtained quotes from. Once work began, I was very impressed by the work crew assigned to our project. That team worked hard! They cleaned up at the end of every day and completed work several days before I expected them to finish. I had expected 2-3 weeks, and the team was done in just under 2 weeks. The new siding really transformed the appearance of our home. We could not be happier with how this project turned out.

As we looked for contractors, we saw their excellent ratings on Angi’s list. It was easy to schedule a first visit. Nate Sullivan, their vice president, came, looked at the house, asked what we wanted, was responsive to our questions, and did not try to oversell or pressure us, especially on materials we did not need. Also, their quote was very reasonable.

Once we decide on Sunshine, they kept their schedule, had a professional crew remove our old siding and replace it with the new. This took about a week. After each day, the crew answered any questions we had, were courteous, made sure everything was picked up that areas of materials were cordoned off at the end of each day, and that window and door well covers were replaced—on their initiative.

Sunshine Contracting also offered options for financing that gave us flexibility in paying for the job on a time schedule that suited us.

When done, everything was removed. The house now looks brand new.

In short, the team was professional, there was no pressure to sign or selling us what we did not need, the price and financing were great. And the end result: We have a better insulated, good-looking house.

This was one of the best experiences I’ve had with a contractor! Zero pressure with the estimate and my windows and doors arrived earlier than I expected. The installers were courteous and did an amazing job replacing all of the rotted trim on my bay and capping it so that I never have to worry about rot again. The storm door is solid and blocks nearly all heat even when the entry door is open. I also had all of the windows replaced on the rear of the house and the temperature difference in the house is stunning. The total price of the project was reasonable and what I expected, but the experience as a whole and the craftsmanship exceeded my expectations. I will happily refer this company to others and hire them again in the future when I’m ready to replace my front windows!

I had windows and siding done on a small townhouse. The work was done quickly and the cleanup was very thorough.

I only have one complaint, and it's not directly Sunshine's issue as it is more on the window manufacturer. I paid extra for grids in the front windows, as I think the plain ones look a little "builders grade" in my opinion.

Once installed, between the coating on the window and the gas between the glass, the grids look greenish gray, not white like the window. I know it's a minor thing, but it makes a difference. Project manager was going to look into the availability of something different, but I could tell it was going to be a hassle and probably end up costing me more money, so I just let it go. Again, nothing on the company, but it would have been nice (and prefered) to be informed they wouldn't appear white, especially as there was an added cost to the windows.

Anyway, would very much recommend this company for quality of installation.Overall I am happy with the job.

I recently hired Sunshine Contracting to replace my front door and storm door. The measurement was quick, communication was great, and everything leading up to the actual installation left a good impression.

On the day of the install, the crew arrived in the agreed-upon timeframe. I was working from home that day, in order to not have to take a day off for the work to be performed. When the crew informed me they were finished, I unfortunately was in the middle of a meeting, so I was able to give a quick review of their work, and at first glance it looked fine. Unfortunately, when I had more time to go over the work, I noticed multiple issues. When I informed the person who I had been primarily communicating with, I sent a list of my concerns and said "I regret not catching this while the crew was here." From that point on, I felt like I was being treated as an inconvenience, and that everything I had an issue with could have easily been fixed had I pointed them out. That may be the case, but the door handle was so scratched up that they had to order a new one, so they would have had to come back out to replace it either way.

After some less-than-professional emails to schedule that date (their response to me saying "later would be better for me" was "earlier is better for us LOL"), the crew arrived and fixed all of the issues I had at the time. After they left (without cleaning up after themselves), I realized that the replacement doorknob they had installed was not turning the correct way anymore. Again, while this was something I could have caught when they were there, I did not specifically check that (they called me down while the door was already open), because I didn't think that in the process of fixing one issue, they would create another. I informed the person I had been communicating with, who until that point had been fairly quick to reply to me. She has not replied, and at this point I'm not expecting to hear anything.

At the end of the day, I am overall okay with the door (bar the doorknob issue I mentioned above), but less than impressed with their customer service and the lack of attention to detail.

We had 7 windows replaced with Sunshine’s ProVia brand. Quality of the window is excellent! Already noticing a difference in the energy efficiency (house is warmer during chilly spells). Workers were also supper efficient. They installed windows, cleaned up nicely and were out in about 10 hours. I would’ve rated Sunshine 5 star, however, communication, although professional, was slow both for the original estimate as well as getting to installation. I had to make multiple calls for the estimate. Then, we waited 2 months from the time of down payment/signing of contract to actual installation. All in all, pros outweigh the cons.

This company was fantastic. They put in new windows to replace a few that were broken and replaced the old aluminum siding for my whole house with Hardie board. The workers were detail oriented and considerate throughout the process. I have had bad experiences with contractors in the past, and the project managers were patient and reassuring.

I have worked with Sunshine on two separate projects. They installed my roof in August 2022 and 12 windows in September 2023. The company is easy to communicate with and very responsive to questions. They provide a quality product at a competative price. My roof installation was done on time and my windows were installed several weeks ahead of schedule.
While the window installation crew was friendly and fast, they were not very detail oriented. I had to ask them to fix gaps in the window trim and caulk. Additionally, they left quite a mess when they left. I found many sharp pieces of metal and nails laying around my back patio. My patio furniture cover was torn as they were removing the old windows. I would recommend using Sunshine, but be sure to inspect the workmanship before the crew leaves.

Sonshine did a great job replacing our siding. It looks great down to the smallest detail.

We had a fantastic experience with Sunshine - I found about them when a neighbor used them, and I was so impressed by what I saw I decided to hire them ourselves, to replace all of the siding and trim on the upper level of our circa 1930s cape. From the estimate through to project completion, we had a five star experience. Everyone on time, super professional, answered all our questions, did incredibly fine work (our old house is a puzzle of weird angles and detail), cleaned up to the point you'd never know anyone had even been here, and we LOVE the final result. They also did a lot of repair and replacement to some damaged wood underneath our old cedar siding, and added insulation, for a very fair price. We will absolutely use them again for the lower level of the house!

We secured 8 bids for this job. Our zip code attracts contractors very high estimates on a lot of common services. Sunshine was honest, up front, interested, and engaged in the process without being pushy or aggressive. They connected with us, gave us leads to see their work and shared their reviews. Absolute transparency. Selecting them was easy, we were drawn to them through the interactions we had with the sales rep, project manager, and work team leader. Their bid was honest, fair, and more importantly, it was detailed. Timeline, materials, services, delivery, and contingency were spot on throughout the project.

Sunshine is the best "big" contractor in the area which gives them the resources to get the material and support services in place in a very timely manner. Yet, they feel like a family owned business that is vested in every client relationship they have. The project manager was in touch by phone, text, or onsite every day.

The staff is personable, sincere, and pro-active with their communication. The installation team was hard working, efficient, and dedicated. More importantly, the work team engaged us proactively, and consistently. They worked through weather changes. The team leader looked young, yet, he had complete command of the products, problem solving, team leadership, and daily engagement. I have huge respect for him and his team of installers.

I highly recommend Sunshine Contracting for the quality of their work, the high level of workmanship, and the skill and experience of their crew. My house is a 45-year-old 2-story colonial with a single car garage. The existing soffits, facia, and frieze were made of wood, and I contracted Sunshine to install over 100 feet of ventilated or solid vinyl soffit material and cap all fascia boards and frieze boards with aluminum. The required work also included the replacement of brick molding and jambs around the garage bay door with new boards and moldings made of cellular PVC, and paint to match the soffits and fascia. The cost was extremely reasonable and very competitive with cost estimates from other contractors. The crew worked to complete the job in one day. They were prompt, efficient and friendly. They did a great job and left everything clean and put back in order. The outside of our house is now essentially maintenance free. I plan to use Sunshine for future trim and window projects around the house.

The agent/representative was very professional; explained everything to me I needed to know; The installation crews showed up early and worked hard and completed before night despite of a little bit inclement weather for a couple of hours. This is the 2nd time I am using their service. In my previous home, the project manager met me personally a couple of times and also came to observe/supervise the work accomplished. However, this is the only thing that did not happen this time.

Sunshine’s siding and gutter teams did an outstanding job in replacing my home’s discolored and stained siding, capping the windows and doors and changing the gutter, downspouts, and added leaf protection. The siding included synthetic house wrap underlayment and wrapping all fascia boards, frieze boards and rake boards with white trim coil and replaced the soffits. The teams were meticulous in completing the job to include removing the ton of job debris.

I observed the siding team in each step of the installation and have confidence in the correct installation of superior siding material that should withstand normal season temperature fluctuations and that is engineered to persevere in the most extreme conditions. Juan was the team’s foreman and was able to fluently communicate to me in English, and provided outstanding leadership. He was also technically proficient on the project. Juan’s team was always cheerful and respectful to me. Domingo was the team’s capping expert and was able to cover complex ornamentations that very few can complete.

Sunshine Contracting might be the best contractor we have ever worked with. They installed Hardie products on the front of our home including four dormers, soffits, rake boards, and new gutters with superior leaf protection. We wish we would have found them much sooner. Regrettably we don't have any further exterior work that needs to be accomplished on our 65-year-old house. Their price point was lower than competitors, their communication was excellent, their workmanship was outstanding, and their flexibility and accommodation was the best. Another fantastic job by Sunshine! We just used them to have a storm door replaced. The installers were very friendly, did a great job installing and also cleaned up after themselves. We previously had Sunshine install a new roof and deck and did a wonderful job. Would definitely use them again.

After receiving bids from several companies, we selected Sunshine Contracting to replace all of the windows in our house with Sunrise windows, do a complete removal and replacement of all of the siding on our “Tudor style” house with James Hardi fiber cement siding, and replace all existing gutters and downspouts. This job was particularly complex due to the style of the house and the multitude of “Tudor style” architectural designs that needed to be maintained and replicated with the James Hardi fiber cement boards. This was also a challenge because the previous trim boards were all rough sawn cedar and the stucco panels and lap siding were vintage 1979 Masonite. The quality of the work performed by Sunshine Contracting was outstanding, and yes, we would contract with them again if we had to do it all over again. Their professional siding craftsmen had experience in re-siding Tudor Style homes and were able to replicate all of the intricate carpentry previously done in the rough sawn cedar with the James Hardi fiber cement board. Any concerns or issues that we raised, were immediately addressed by the team and corrected. The Project Manager and Team Leads were always there and available to us, and answered all of our questions. The whole crew was very professional and friendly, and they did a great job cleaning up after every working day. Sunshine Contracting has now taken us from a home that required outside maintenance on a regular basis, to one that is essentially maintenance free! I highly recommend Sunshine Contracting for any home siding, gutter, or window installation project that you may have.

We had all the windows replaced in our house about 6 years ago by Sunshine - they did a terrific job from start to finish! As luck would have it, recently a tree branch broke during a thunderstorm, struck one of our 1st floor windows and broke the frame. I contacted Sunshine and they began the process of inspecting the damage, estimating the cost of replacement, manufacturing the replacement window, and installing the window. This took about 6 months due to Covid and supply chain issues. Throughout the process, our Project Managers (Cathy & AJ) did a terrific job of keeping me informed. Likewise, the installation team did an equally terrific job of removing and replacing the broken window all in about 2 hours. While the cost of this was fairly pricey, the quality of the product, reputation of the contractor, and integrity of the installation were all worth it. Sunshine has replaced our roof, windows and gutters and they are well worth it. I've recommended them to family and friends and will be sure to use them again if need be.

First of all, I do not do reviews. So, the fact that I'm taking time to share the outstanding experience I had with Sunshine Contracting should be a strong endorsement. For the record, I am very particular and rarely impressed.

We bought a house in 2021 and quickly found that blocked and sagging gutters were causing wood rot on some trim and other issues. I got a few quotes but no one wanted to own the whole project, which seemed daunting for me to find multiple trustworthy contractors and coordinate their work.

I knew I wanted to use HardieTrim for any replacement trim and finally found Sunshine Contracting because of their Elite Preferred status with James Hardie products. Complex rooflines and a few gutter design changes made it a unique project and I appreciated the time that Scott spent with me to walk the property and come up with a plan that we detailed out on the contract.

I went with Sunshine Contracting and am actually excited to report that they provided the finest contracting experience I've ever had. Operations Manager Nate stopped by regularly to do a little quality control and check in with me personally. The onsite team led by Kevin were professionals and a pleasure to work with. They are true craftsmen and cared deeply about the details and improving the curb appeal of our home. I checked in with them often and we were able to make some decisions along the way that improved the final product and knocked out a bunch of things I thought would be outside their scope. Their commitment to excellent customer service shined through, even on the snowy days. If we ever need more work done, they'll be our first call.

Windows are of good quality, but the experience of working with them has been the worst I have had with any business in the last several years. I understand delays in production due to COVID/supply chain issues, so when they increased the quoted lead time by several weeks when placing the order, it was to be expected. However, they were still many weeks later than that. The installation was then done to a poor quality. One window is not installed flush. They did not all adhere to COVID safety guidelines in our house. They left a shocking amount of clean-up work to be done by us, both inside and outside. And the quality of the finish work is sub-amateur on multiple windows. Furthermore, the communication is unacceptably bad. I have had to deal with a no-call, no-show appointment. Multiple failures to follow-up with me when they said they would. And I have now been overcharged on the initial installation costs (they were supposed to hold 5% of the total bill until they come and fix the mistakes they made, but they only left ~$100, which leads me to believe they simply won't be fixing the issues given they haven't communicated with me in over a week). Avoid this business.

Sunshine did a complete deck replacement several years ago and they were specular. The remodel included a large porch area with four skylights. One of the skylights recently was damaged by a tree branch and they can out and replaced the skylight quickly and on budget.

I can highly recommend Sunshine to anyone looking to have remodeling done. They always were professional, personable, and kept to the budget agreed to.

We've used Sunshine for two different jobs: siding replacement (Hardie) and exterior trim repair and replacement after tree damage. Both jobs had some unique complications. They were able to work with us to come up with good, creative solutions. The crew and estimator were on time, professional, and did great work. Their pricing was very fair and better than our other estimates. We will definitely use them again.

I had Sunshine Contracting do three big projects. They replaced every window in my house and replaced two sets of French doors and three exterior doors in February 2018. They covered all remains exposed wood (rake boards, soffit, etc.) in June 2020. I can't say enough good things about the company. We were very happy with the quality of the materials and the competence and professionalism of their crews. We would use them again.

Quality workmanship & great value. Delays in installing, but COVID slowed down the whole industry, so it was understandable. Recommend Sunshine for this type of work in the DMV area.

We were very happy that we chose Sunshine Contracting for our Hardie siding and gutter installation. Sunshine is one of the few James Hardie Elite Preferred contractors in the area, and they beat the other Elite Preferred installer by about 25 percent on their estimate. More importantly, Sunshine did an awesome job with the actual siding project, board and batten siding on a mid century modern Deck House. The crew was very careful, and took their time to make every corner and every trim piece around the existing mahogany windows and doors look just right. They were flexible in considering what would look best on our house and discussed every detail with us fully before executing their work. We were also extremely happy to have Nate as the job/installation representative and Kevin as the site manager. They were both extremely friendly and positive to work with. Nate was very considerate in dealing with our requests and making adjustments to the project that became necessary. We would gladly recommend Sunshine to others in the area.

Sunshine Contracting Corp, specifically Matt Knez and Chris Posselh were personally responsible for a significant portion of our house being destroyed. Sunshine Contracting Corp's roofing replacement was grossly negligent and their inability to handle the weather event was project management incompetence. We haven't had any communication from Sunshine other than to collect for their fraudulent roofing project. They added $4000 worth of additional services on to our initial contract that we did not approve and that should not have been necessary. On June 19, 2018, a crew from Sunshine Contracting arrived at our house at approximately 7:30am to replace our roof. A heavy thunderstorm was predicted for that afternoon. At approximately 3pm, the thunderstorm occurred, but the crew failed to take adequate precautions to protect our home. A substantial amount of rain poured into our home and caused extensive house and property damage (approximately 30% of the house was damaged). Soon after the new roof was installed, we experienced water leaks. Sunshine Contracting last worked on the water leaks in the roof at our home in August 2018. These repairs failed and the leaks continued. We then had to hire a different roofing company to correct Sunshine's installation mistakes and properly flash the roof around the skylights and the sunroom addition. These repairs cost us an additional $4,500. It took 23 months to repair the damage and rebuild our home. The reconstruction costs were $110,000, of which $20,000 was not covered by insurance so we had to pay this out of pocket. In addition, $44,000 in furniture was destroyed. This process was extremely disruptive to our lives and jobs. We lost more than 60 days of work to be present to deal with contractors, and significantly more time was spent managing the reconstruction and insurance company issues. At one point, we had to be relocated for four nights. We have not attempted to estimate a dollar amount for the stress we endured from all of this, but we could try to do so if that would be useful. We are now gathering other homeowners in our neighborhood and other communities in Northern Virginia to file law suits against Sunshine Contracting Corp. for gross negligence and failure to install new roofing to meet industry standards. If you are considering doing business with this company, we would strongly recommend that you would find anyone else to do the work.

Quality work and professional team. I looked around the Stafford area for someone that could replace two of my patio doors with quality doors and Sunshine exceeded my expectations, and trust me, I have very high expectations. Highly professional from start to finish. The gentleman that installed the doors was very meticulous and ensured every minuscule adjustment was perfect. I will use them again for any of my home's needs. Lastly, it is not easy to find quality contractors like Sunshine provides.
