Washingtonian Companies came out and installed a new front door for me. They were professional, timely, friendly, respectful and easy to work with. Best of all, they got the project done ahead of schedule.

This company is 5 stars, everything was explained in detail, the materials arrived in the time frame that was scheduled, work was done, also when scheduled. I always had clear communication and when I had questions, they always answered in a timely fashion. I would recommend Washingtonian Companies in a heartbeat.

We’re not quite certain why our experience with Washingtonian Companies was not as satisfactory as that portrayed in other reviews.

We hired Washingtonian Companies to build an enclosed porch. The initial consultation was good - the estimator who arrived was prompt, knowledgeable, and took the time to intently listen and understand the vision that we described for the porch. The proposal was provided in a timely manner, and the price was competitive.

However, the experience degraded after signing the contract and tendering a deposit. We understand that no process is perfect, but there were delays and errors throughout the entire process, such as the following which occurred before the work began:

- The exterior pictures that were taken by the estimator, used for drafting plans, were apparently blurry, requiring us to take another set of pictures (this issue wasn’t discovered until a month after the pictures were taken).

- While waiting on the plans, we requested pictures from other projects several times - it took ~6 weeks to receive those pictures.

- The contractor submitted a permit request to the county, but was not registered with the on-line county permitting system; we noticed this issue after looking up the permit status - nobody at Washingtonian Companies was aware of this issue for 2 - 3 weeks.

The crew that worked on the job appeared to require supervision; otherwise, they would make unusual mistakes, such as using wood that was not pressure treated for exterior portions of the porch, or attempting to paint the porch exterior on a rainy day. Most of the time, there was no on-site supervision. Also, we couldn’t communicate effectively with them due to a language barrier.

When the crew indicated that the job was finished to the job coordinator, there were several issues to be resolved. The work was paused during most of the Winter, due to cold weather; however, piles of construction materials remained in the yard / driveway for months.

The knee wall / slab slope seemed to provide the biggest construction challenge for the crew. The bottom of the knee wall exterior was crafted to match the slope of the slab (see image), which makes the bottom look crooked. An example image of a knee wall exterior that we provided before the work began did not slope in this manner. When reviewing the work, we asked to have this part changed, but we were told things would need to be taken apart, so it wasn’t possible. Other minor issues were mostly addressed, however.

We were patient with regard to delays, hoping that the process / outcome would be as good as what was represented in the other reviews; for whatever reason, with the completion of the task a year after signing the initial contract, this was not the case.

We recently renovated our kitchen and dining area for the first time after 30 years! We spent years evaluating different proposals from many other contractors and we chose Washingtonian Companies. It wasn't until we met Marina that we finally felt comfortable enough to proceed. Through her design, we were able to maximize the space. Marina provided us with great design choices and helped us select cabinets, cabinet pulls, countertops, backsplashes, and appliances! Jimmy and Leanna in the office, as well as the crew that worked on the job, were all very helpful and a pleasure to work with and helped translate our dream into reality! With the ease of the purchasing process and the staff's kindness, we only have great things to say about the Washingtonian team. We are extremely pleased with the final product! It exceeded our expectations! We love coming into our newly renovated kitchen and spending a lot of time there! Family, friends & neighbors compliment us on our new kitchen & dining room! We highly recommend Washingtonian Companies! We look forward to using Washingtonian Companies on our next home renovation project!

Washingtonian, Mr. Jimmy has been doing big construction jobs for my company. I am very pleased with his work, his personality his responsiveness to the work requested.

Met with the Owner and Project Manager. They were both very professional and took the time to explain the process and the materials to be used for the roof installation. Washingtonian Companies did an excellent job on my bathroom remodel and additional projects throughout my house. They were professional, punctual, and friendly. I would highly recommend contacting them if you are looking to update your home.

January 1st a pipe burst in my kitchen, flooding it and the bathroom. When the plumber replaced the pipe, we discovered extensive mold in the walls. The walls in the kitchen and bathroom needed to be torn up and when the mold was removed, the entire kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanity needed replacing along with painting both rooms.

Ivan Unzueta and his crew did all the repairs and renovations. Washingtonian Companies supplied the cabinets. The work was done quickly (two weeks); the men always showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves every day. And Ivan was very responsive....always either answering his phone or calling me back within five minutes. If I have any problem with my home, Ivan will be the man I count on.

Jimmy's team resurfaced our deck with a composite deck board. Looks great, we like the color and the detailed installation. Look forward to enjoying it this Fall.

Washingtonian Companies saves the day!! My daughter’s wedding had been disrupted more times than we care to count due to the pandemic. At the last minute we needed the interior of our house painted to host a small number of people in preparation for the wedding. Washingtonian sent a crew out on extremely short notice. I had an excellent experience with a new roof installation from Washingtonian Companies! From contacting the company for a quote to the finished product, everything went seamlessly. After receiving quotes from 4 companies, I chose this one because the owner showed up very quickly with a mask on and socially distanced to answer all my questions and take measurements; provided a thorough quote; was the first one to follow up on the quote; answered my million questions and explained his choice of materials and why I didn't need some of the options other more expensive companies were offering; kept in constant communication through the whole process; showed up on time and provided me job updates and photos of the progress along the way; and cleaned up every last bit of materials at the conclusion of the work. He even called a few days later to make sure I was happy and had a warranty packet sent to my house right after the job completed. I highly recommend!

Washingtonian Roofing was early and they did an amazing job removing the damaged plywood. They worked diligently without effort and they made it look easy even though it was 3 stories off the ground. The company replaced the whole roof for me recently. The job is well done. Before I contracted the project to the Washingtonian Roofing, I have talked to several other companies who send representatives to knock on door. It is true those companies may be bigger. But I have had a strong feeling that these project hunters' sole interest is in finding costumers. In comparison, the Washingtonian Roofing cares a lot about the quality of its work, and the way the company is run provides integrity to the whole project. I felt it is honest and trustworthy. i am glad I got that right.
