I must have caught them on a bad day..

We asked to have it delivered Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. Showed up Thursday morning. Starter edge was warped and scratched. I didn't know the difference between starter edge and drip edge so they showed up Friday morning with fresh drip edge. I was told the new starter edge would be here in 30 minutes. We wanted synthetic underlayment and got tar paper. Again, partially our fault but we were told upselling is standard practice for that. They said they'd waive the cost difference which was more than fair. Thank you.

I called at 3pm to ask where the starter edge was. Now it's 5pm on Friday and I guess that's that.

I accept we were partially at fault for not saying the right stuff... but, when you mess up that's when you try a little harder.

Update: it's 3pm sunday... still got the warped/scratched edging in the driveway. We tried planning this out a week ago but this is what we get. We didn't scratch the edging... wish I had know the difference between drip edge and starter edge... wouldn't have lost the whole sunny weekend.

HIGHLY recommended for your roofing needs. I accidentally showed up on a Saturday during the winter, not realizing the seasonal hours. Someone happened to be on site working on the property and asked if I needed roofing supplies. They were happy to take care of me even though they weren't officially open! WCS is now my go-to for roofing needs.

Whether you're a DIYer or a contractor, I'm completely confident this highly knowledgeable and friendly WCS team will take good care of you too. Check them out!

I cannot praise this company enough. We called to try and stretch our donated funds for a roof we were building for a house of worship. I had been referred by a friend that has used them for yrs. He said he won't buy roofing anywhere else due to the service and quality.
I was mostly calling to get quotes to see how much more money we needed to raise. The lady we spoke with on the phone asked what we were doing and put me on hold for a bit.
Turns out they like to support the sort of thing we were doing and decided to donate all the roofing products for our job! This was so unexpected! I am eternally gratefull and will always buy any roofing material I need from them!

Lady (don’t recall her name) helped me with a request to get HD shingles went to the back and spoke with someone about it, then I left and came to ask where else she thought I could ge them because Washington Cedar didn’t have it in stock. She told me exactly where they would have them at a competitors. Which I appreciated so much because I needed them ASAP. Her co worker heard her explain to me where I could get them and he jokingly said “Don’t tell him to much”. I appreciated her telling me “to much” because shows she cares. I’ll come back and continue to shop at Washington Cedar because of great customer service.

They were quick to respond and get the roof load out and delivered. The actual roof loaders were sloppy. I had to restock a bunch because it was leaning. These pics were taken right after they left. It is usually stacked straight and I can feel comfortable leaving it overnight. This loader stood on a higher portion of the roof and threw the bundles 5-6 feet down and then just left them how they landed. I had to restack so they weren't leaning. It wasn't a steep or large roof so, and I was the last load for the morning...he wasn't in a hurry, so why so sloppy? I usually go with Stoneway supply but the HOA's required a material they don't carry.

We bought our roofing package (shingles, vent cap, etc.) from them. They delivered it and put it up on the roof. Very pleasant to work with.

I'm not a roofing contractor I'm a general contractor and I really like this company.

They realize that my knowledge is limited and they are very helpful in choosing the correct products and helping me out with detail items that non roofers are likely to miss.

I'm sure I don't get as good a pricing as their roofing contractors do but their prices always seem fair and when I couple the pricing with the advice it's well worth it.

The yard guys in the loaders are always cheerful and helpful as well!

Pricing questions
1. What is the average roof replacement cost for a residential home?
+-

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
