I paid Vondersaar construction $30,000 in Sept 2022 to build my new dock/deck, with the balance on completion. I paid him for all materials, because when he was months late completing my neighbors docks (because he was waiting on parts,) I thought I was getting ahead of the game. In September 2023, I got a refund of my money. (without interest for for over a year.) NOTHING WAS DONE in over 12 months. He forgot to have the concrete pier in our dock removed while the lake was down in winter 2022, and then later told me I had to pay for the almost $10,000 bill to have it removed with a pneumatic drill. His estimate was $4000. His error cost me almost $6,000 more. I asked him to cover the $1,000 for the special drill that is used to cut in water. He refused, even though it was his fault. Numerous emails went unanswered (I sent the same email 5 times, and put PLEASE RESPOND in the subject line, but no replay), and placed numerous phone calls and texts with no response. I have been an investor and home builder for 25+ years, and I have never experienced the level of unprofessionalism and disregard in my entire career. Seth seems like a laid back guy, but working with him was the most frustrating contractor experience I have ever had.

Creative solutions and quality workmanship. Seth has a good eye for the aesthetic results. Our main goal was to add width to our dock for entertaining and storage by the water. We ended up with aluminum decking on the upper and lower decks, rolling barn doors to a large storage room with shelving and electrical, underwater lights, railing pathway lights, up and down lights on our house and retaining wall. His team even fixed issues created by another contractor (three times!) They aren’t cheap, but good quality shouldn’t be. Seth’s crew shows up early and works late. Book early, put some money down to reserve a space in the long line. You’ll be happy you did!

Seth and his crew built a new deck on the back of our house. We went with metal decking, metal rails with cables. They removed a window and replaced with a slider. We are beyond happy. Can't wait for the weather to get warmer so we can really use it. We would certainly use Vondersaar Construction again and 100% recommend. Thank you Seth and your crew. The Scott's
