They recently addressed my basement issues and seamlessly coordinated with contractors for flooring, painting, plumbing, and moving—taking care of every detail when my sump pump had plumbing issues. PorterHouse Contracting came through for us, and James at PorterHouse was GREAT to work with!!! In what was an incredibly important job for us (testing air quality in my elderly mom’s small apartment), but certainly a small job for PorterHouse, James truly went above and beyond to give us the answers we needed to be able to move forward to try to make Mom’s place more livable. In the week before the July 4th holiday, James returned my initial call. (One service initially promised to be able to help but then after setting an appointment and our further inquiry, explained they really didn’t have the capability. Another contractor didn’t even call back after an office manager took my message and promised a return call. Another returned my call but wouldn’t do the testing without active involvement of an unresponsive property management company.) James coordinated and communicated with both me and my sister (located out of the state and out of the city, respectively, from the testing site) to get the job done as and when he said he would. He was informative, helpful, responsive, and professional. And, again, he truly went above and beyond!

We had a bit of an emergency. We were selling my mother’s house in Noblesville and were ready to start showing it, when we had a sewer pipe clog and the basement became flooded 3 days before it went on the market. A friend suggested we reach out to James at PorterHouse, and we called.

I started working with James and PorterHouse Contracting in January when pipes froze and burst at a condo community I manage. He was onsite 35 mins after I called him at 2:00 AM. I have worked with them on 12 projects since then and will continue to do so. Their work is of the highest quality, and their communication and documentation is excellent as well.

We have been using Porterhouse for a couple years now on project demo and remediation. They have been great for us and also on all referral clients we have sent them. I trust them on all my projects and you should as well.

Avoid this company at all costs. James and Bryan are complete slime balls. I will attach pictures of his work. He took advantage of our desperation and I wish we never went with him. We had our crawlspace remediated as well as some flooring work done. Bryan was to sand all affected areas of crawlspace, his work was lazy and minimal. James’ flooring contractors were the trashiest most disrespectful people I’ve ever met. Completely disrespected my mother in law on many occasions. So unprofessional. They showed up and had no clue what they were to do. We had to run the entire show. James showed up twice. Once to give us a bid and at the end to collect the payment. He was needed many times but never showed up so much “miscommunication”. The flooring work was the worst I’ve seen. They also put flooring over our utility closet drain, when we asked James to have Bryan fix it he said “I’m not doing that” I’m surprised at this guys reviews, maybe this work was just out of his league because this was a disgrace. Not to mention the floor gave out in a certain spot and they tried to fix the joist and couldn’t. He hustled us I’m afraid to admit. Also said he would tear old kitchen tiles up and install toe kicks. Neither of those things happened. He said his flooring guys “don’t usually do it that way” no money came off the end price though. Also said he was going to poly wrap out crawlspace, ended up just sloppily laying a thin piece of plastic on top not riding the walls or anything. Complete botch job on all accounts. Left staples in our walls, just complete disrespect. Completely my fault for letting this guy swindle us but just trying to warn others. His drywall guy was great but the rest of the experience was an absolute nightmare. James is a real smooth talker, but after the bid he was GONE.

Update: Partnered with Porterhouse contracting 5 months later and I am glad to say it was the same amazing service. This time we had the roof replaced. Our home is 124 years old this year and James really broke it down to a level I could understand on what would be replaced and what wouldn’t be. They were respectful to the home and really made sure to dig deep for solutions into all my concerns. It was very helpful. We even had a side request for an extra entryway to the attic and his team was able to accomplish it within the same time frame. PorterHouse, specifically James and Sam, did an amazing job in finalizing the sewage loss in my crawlspace.
They didn't have to be "on it" as quickly as they were. I had another "Orange and Local" restoration firm on the loss originally. But for a reason, only know by their production and estimation staff, they pulled their equipment early, left the timbers wet and falsified documents.
James came out to my house within 18 hours of my inquiry and Sam set equipment the very next day. Within 3 days, the timbers were below standard moisture levels and they were treated with anti-microbial to ensure my family and home would be safe from mold or anything else that may have remained from the other company's insufficiencies.
My adjuster was very complementary of PorterHouse and their willingness to assist in such an unfortunate situation. We were glad that James and Sam were ready to assist in order to prevent any additional damage.

Porterhouse is a fantastic full service company. When my basement flooded they came out immediately to perform the mitigation and coordination the replacement of my sump pump. Then worked diligently with the insurance company to communicate damages and secure payment. Highly recommend.

I was so pleased with the work completed by James and his crew. They went above and beyond to take care of all of my issues with a leaky basement and clean up. He and his crew were prompt, polite and work was done in a timely manner. I would highly recommend this company!

James and his team were amazing. Easiest group of contractors I’ve ever worked with! Excellent communication and very responsive. Multiple vendors coordinated without a lift from me. The quality of the work was also excellent.

I am overly impressed with the quality of work, and simplicity when working with James. He communicated with my insurance company, and was able to get my whole bathroom done in about half the time we originally expected. I was nervous, because I have often heard horror stories of contractors changing price, "finding more issues", taking months longer than expected, etc. I feel like I lucked out by calling Porterhouse.
It is no surprise they have a 5 star rating. I would recommend them, and give them 10 stars if I could.

James is very professional and responsive. The work completed was great quality and they communicated when there was a delayed part that needed to be shipped. I would use them again.

Excellent Contractor to work with!!! James was responsive to my request to mitigate and repair sewer drain-line break & damages in my crawl space. His crew promptly cleaned up and dried the flooded area, and they did great job sealing off and repairing the drain pipes. He also handled the insurance company and all his works were very through and professional. Highly recommend.

What matters the most!

We hired Powerhouse Contracting to waterproof our basement after flooding. You always want things to go as planned with a big job. So much of our home had already been disrupted from water damage.
What impressed me- our job didn't go as planned. Yet, James at Porterhouse Contracting stepped up as the owner. He went above and beyond with his team to get us not only on track but to ensure our final experience was better than the original plan.
I believe this means more than simply doing a job well (which they did)... Their ability to pivot and resolve whatever situation may arise is what matters most when looking for a contractor to work on your home!

Really love working with Porter House Contracting. So far mitigation work has been done on my frozen pipe water leak. James has been super responsive. He and his team came in and moved very fast to removed damages and dry out the house. He is very responsive to my messages and that is something I APPRECIATE so much. I am looking forward to the remodel of my kitchen and bathroom.

We had a pipe freeze, and break and ended up with water in the basement upon the ice thawing. We called Porter House the following morning, and James and his crew were out that afternoon and working on our situation. We didn’t want to end up with mold in the basement and appreciated so much the quick response and the great work done. James and the crew were so professional and did everything they could to deal quickly with our problem. They had to take out the wet padding from under the carpeting and dispose of that and then left fans for days to dry out the carpeting. (They also had had to take the woodwork off the walls.) James came to test our progress over the next few days and knew through testing when the carpeting was completely dry. He ordered new padding and when it came in, sent the crew out to install the padding, reinstall the carpeting and reinstall the woodwork. All was done very well and very professionally. It was such a relief to work with such a good company. We appreciate the quality of the work done and the fact that they were sympathetic to our problem.

James and his crew removed desired porch columns, replaced a rotted porch column that was to remain, and placed a support beam across the roofline of our house to prevent structural issues.

James was very communicative, which was extremely appreciated. And, his crew worked hard as well as were very nice and informative with all questions I had while they worked.

I will be using them again for future projects.

I met James Porter on my worst day getting back from vacation to find water covering the whole lower level of my condo. He was honest from the very beginning about the whole process, how long, what needed to be done, who to contact, you name it he was on top of everything. Any question, doubt, concern he basically got me through the mini nightmare my life was on. I can't say enough about what a stand up person as well as what stand up work they did getting everything done so I could move in as quickly as possible with the job done right. Would highly recommend them to everybody!

They referred me to PorterHouse Contracting, LLC. I was recovering from an ACL repair surgery, when I received a phone call from James Porter, he was polite and appeared to know his business very well. He handled the insurance company and was able to began work immediately. Mr. Porter checked in with me through text and phone to make sure everything went smoothly. His employees were very professional and respectful. This company went above and beyond to make sure that my recovery was not disturbed by their work. Found mold in our downstairs coat closet, pulled off the drywall and noticed the wood studs were mold and rotted away. Called Porterhouse for an estimate and James got back extremely quick and VERY reasonable quote. They were able to come out the following week and get us back to normal! James and his employees are amazing, on time and do extremely good work! Can't recommend these guys enough!

As I am writing this review, James just left my house. I initially spoke with him no more than 2 hours ago, and he showed up the same afternoon to inspect a potential problem I was having with a leaking toilet and moisture in my bathroom floors. Turns out the issue was no where near as bad as I thought and something I can fully tackle myself, but James still talked with me for 20 minutes giving me a ton of helpful information for when I take care of the issue. And the best part - he didn't even charge me a dime for his time! Very cool, very smart, very professional dude. This guy is the real deal - Give him a call!

Porterhouse Construction installed a new roof for a huge church. Replaced gutters, added cement siding, replaced brick molding around windows. Water damage and painting. They did great job. They were on time for everything and a great job with communication. I would highly recommend them.

James and his team were fantastic. I had a number of companies inspect and quote a mold remediation project that stemmed from a small leak from the main floor to the basement and Porterhouse Contracting was the only company that did a thorough inspection that addressed the full issue and potential mold spots. The entire team was on time, helpful, informative, and wonderful to work with. I had a lot of questions and concerns, given the nature of the project, and James answered them all and put my mind at ease. The pricing was fair and the problem was fixed in a timely manner. I would hire James and his team again for any water/mold remediation or remodel project.

Porterhouse Contracting did a marvelous job with a water event in our home. All workers were excellent, came when they said they would, and did superior work. James dealt with the ins and outs of insurance claims and made sure everything was done properly. Highly recommend.

I cannot say enough about James and the work that he and his team did at my home. It was just amazing! There was so much work involved I couldn’t even check all of the categories here for the type of work that he did, but let me just say the issue started with a bees nest inside a wall of the house near the chimney. Bees were flying around inside the house and kept coming in to the point that I could no longer safely stay there. James came in calmly, took photos and assessed the situation and got to work immediately gathering the supplies needed to do the work. He not only tackled the bees with a special order bee suit, but he also took care of the repairs needed on the inside and outside of the house to repair where he had to cut into the wall and ceiling to get to the nest, then seal things off, paint and make everything look picture perfect again. Thousands of bees were removed and he made the entire situation feel like it had been just a bad dream. He kept me updated throughout the entire process and stayed on time with completing the work and was even done early so I could enjoy the space for the upcoming Labor Day weekend. I cannot emphasize enough the peace of mind that I had from him doing the work. I feel so fortunate to have had someone so hard working, thoughtful and careful doing the work in the midst of this horrible living situation. Thanks so much James - you’re the best!

We had damage to our floor and garage ceiling due to the faulty installation of a tank-less water heater. James and his crews were great to work with throughout the restoration process. He gave great recommendations and followed through on time. Great to work with...I would highly recommend them.
