Vares was great, and I couldn't ask for better. From permits, to logistics, to managing expectations and the tenants, they made it a piece of cake for me. They even finished a day early. I've worked with a few different companies on similar projects, and they've all been competent, but none have made it so easy. I look forward to working with them again.

We purchased a home on Northshore Maui that was a complete fixer-upper, but with much potential. It needed a retaining wall and the project was so complex, we had a difficult time finding the right contractor. When Edward Vares came to view the property, he instilled so much confidence in his ability to demolish and excavate the very neglected backyard, and then build our wonderful retaining wall. He brought in subcontractors who put in other hardscape around the property. Now we enjoy sitting in our lovely backyard and look out at our ocean view. We could not be happier with the service we got from Vares Contracting!

Vares Contracing handled the installation of a new Sewer Man Hole at Ala Lani United Methodist Church. They are very knowledgeable and trustworthy, great communications and professional. I cannot say enough about this company and its ability to meet and exceed expectations. Ed and Lisa made the entire process so easy and took the time to explain all the details.

The Vares' came and helped us clear land, sparing all the trees we wanted to keep. Very meticulous and did a great job even helping us relocate Jackson chameleons! Easy to work with, great value for the work. We will definitely ask them to return to install septic system and grade and prepare building sites in the near future. You will not find better contractors on Maui and they are just super nice people to work with. Mahalo nui Lisa and Ed and see you soon!!!!

We had recently moved to Maui from Oahu and started to upgrade our Haiku home. We’d been lucky enough to find Edward Vares and his team just after we purchased the home to do some tree clearing on our property. During our lanai remodel project Vares Construction assembled a great team of carpenters and Trex experts to create our dream lanai. To this day we have friends come over and the lanai still gets a lot of ‘wow, look at this!’.

In our 20+ years of having remodel work done, Edward and his team are the best general contractor we’ve ever had. Honest, strong communicator, knowledgeable, timelines nailed, budgets met, no surprises, and amazing work!

Mahalo for taking such good care of us and our home.
