Utah Heat Cable

I have worked with multiple heat cable contractors and electricians. None of them have been as knowledgeable with heat cable and ice dam prevention systems as Dave and his manager. The staff is exceptionally kind and intelligent. They are very fairly priced, on time, professional, and whenever I had questions they were able to explain things so well that even a 5th grader could understand it. I wish I had another project for them to do because it was such a pleasure working with them. Thank you Utah Heat Cable! I will be passing your name along and calling for any future projects.

It was easy to schedule an appointment at a convenient time. The electricians were on time and kept me informed about when they would arrive. They were thorough and detailed with their inspection of my system. They patiently answered my questions with easy to understand explanations and options. They noticed a potential problem and with absolutely no pressure, explained what the risk was and the best way to solve it. Excellent service. I have used them for years. The springtime heat cable checkup is not only a good value at $79 but enables you to find out how your system faired the past winter and, if needed, get fixed before the next winter when the demand for service goes through the roof. (Pun intended)

We went with Utah Heat Cable for our home heat cable replacement. We were told our job was complete and when my husband went onto the roof to inspect the work, he found that a patch of cable had been left without screws and in another patch, incorrect screws were used that would have resulted in corrosion. This felt dishonest and was really disappointing. When I contacted the company 3 weeks later to check in on when the correct screws would be installed, I was told that the project was complete and my invoice was awaiting payment. The job is now complete but it was a disappointing company experience. I do wonder how many of the 5 star reviews are a result of most homeowners never inspecting the completed work.

Austin did a great job. Great install and very easy explanation on how it all works. We feel 100% better going into this winter season with our new heat tape.

Austin and Mitch did a terrific job on our recent heat cable installation. They worked hard to install the heat cable properly throughout the roof by carefully and effectively placing the system in the most optimal areas down roof valleys, through the downspouts and in the best areas above the gutters and drip edge. Had an inspection of heat cable via thermal imaging, the technicians climbed on the roof and traced all wiring and mounting brackets, we discussed any ice build up areas from last season, and they inspected the wiring in the breaker box to ensure it was at code because of my concern. They kept to their quote for this service of $79. It took two of them just over an hour to accomplish the work.

So happy we went with Utah Heat Cable. Scott was great to work with helping us decide what would work best for us. David did the final install of the thermostat and educating us on how everything works. Last but not least, Holly in the office was great in keeping us informed on appointments and any delays.

Everything from start to finish interacting with the people at Utah Heat Cable was quite good.  While it took many weeks to have someone bid on the job, it was still quicker than the competition.  Again, though they were not able to start the job as soon as I preferred, they were up front about the timing and stayed true to the estimate.    Zak and Austin worked on the project (on separate days a week apart to allow adhesive to cure in the interim).  How they approached the job was ESPECIALLY conscientious.  I know this because I actively snooped/participated while they plied their trade, and they readily answered my questions and explained their reasoning for different design and installation decisions, all of which seemed focused on a quality and a long-lasting job as opposed rushing or cutting corners that might lead to a quicker exit to their long work day.   They were replacing a 15 year-old installation (someone else's) that had failed due to several suboptimal choices 'back then': (multiple splices, suboptimal cable pattern, under-emphasis on the slip sheet, etc).  I really appreciate how much better this job ended up being.

Our experience with Utah Heat Cable in Centerville, UT has not been positive. The owner was at our house last winter and stated they had not installed enough heat cable and he committed to us to come out in the spring and install additional cable. This never happened. We were even willing to pay for the additional heat cable. When the snow melted, we saw that 7 panels on our metal roof had been torn by the snow guards that were installed by Utah Heat Cable. When notified and sent pictures the owner stated on 05/08/2023 “I will go ahead and get the replacement snow retention ordered.” After additional messages and photos, we have yet to get our snowguards repaired or the additional heat cable installed as promised. In fact, we have not heard from him since he said the parts were ordered. Our roof has been repaired, the damaged snowguards have been taken down, but nothing has been done by Utah Heat Cable regarding the snowguards or the heat cable. We do not recommend Utah Heat Cable.

We had an appointment for a heat cable check up. It was reassuring to know all is good. Additionally, we now know what type of system we have. Got recommendations and options we have when the current system is at the end of its life. We will use them when it is time

Scott provided an outstanding level of service with explanation of Utah Heat Tape's products, installation process, smart technology options and overall took his time working with us on how to best layout the heat tape runs, T-offs, etc... so we could efficiently plan out of heat tape system. Zach the electrician tech also provide outstanding level of service with the installation hook up of electrical, smart technology switches/ plugs and inspecting the entire system and took his time to explaining the system set up and how to operate the system. We interviewed 5 different heat tape companies & gutter companies that also install heat tape, Utah Heat Tape by a long shot did a better job at explaining the heat tape products, took their time working with us prior to submitting a bid and were competitively priced than the rest of the companies, but the level of service is what won them the job with us!

They showed up on time. The job was completed before the deadline. They communicated well and accurately as to what phase and what dates the heat cable was to be installed.

We had a good experience with Utah Heat Cable. They were very responsive and showed up when they said they would. The heat cable works like a charm and we would highly recommend them!

I had heat cable installed in the gutters on the front and rear of the house as well as zig zag on the rear. Dave, the owner, explained everything very thoroughly. The installers we courteous and careful. Pricing was better than the competition. I recommend them.

We had a bad problem with icicles on my second story home. Called Utah Heat Cable and they came out, in a very timely manner, and provided a great solution to my problem. Installation went great and they took the time to show me how to properly use the heat cable and answered all the questions I had. Utah Heat Cable installed heat tape in one area of our roof and rain gutters. They were very friendly, helpful, and professional. They were willing to travel, which we greatly appreciated. We highly recommend this company.

I have to mention Zak. He was at my home on time. Polite, personable, professional, positive. He endured through the dark hours and his long drive home. Utah Heat Cable is fortunate to have him. I compared pricing. They were more than competitive and provided excellent workmanship.

They were amazing. Had a heat cable go out as we were about to get 15" of snow came out same day and fixed the problem in the middle of a blizzard. Followed up a few days later too making sure we were still doing well. Highly recommend.

We really liked using Utah Heat Cable. They came out, drew up a plan, told us where we really needed heat cable and where we could "wait and see." They broke down the cost into each of the various parts so we could see exactly what we were paying for. We needed rain gutters fixed that the ice pulled off and they sent out a team to re-install. They worked hard and the last day even worked into the dark to make sure it was finished that day. They were friendly, polite and all around great guys to have around. Also very professional. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who needs heat cable.

This company installed heat cable on my roof as I get a lot of ice and dripping onto the sidewalk. It was scheduled and installed promptly and he did a great job it looks very professional I couldn’t ask for more
