U.S. Shingle Roofing

I needed to replace shingles on my older house. I was very happy with Joe who quoted my estimate. The workers came on time and were very well supervised. They cleaned as they worked and were done in a day and a half. I would be very happy to recommend US Singles to my family and friends.

These guys put a new roof on my home two years ago and it is now leaking. There is a lifetime warranty on the roof, I called for months for someone to come out to look and repair damage to roof and my room. No one will call me back, yes the receptionist does answer the phone, but no one will return your call. Will not recommend this company to anyone. Looks like I will have to take legal actions in order to get the necessary repairs one.

U. S. Shingle installed a new roof for us and did a wonderful job. Service and communication were outstanding. Cudos to both Joey Smith and Krista Guy. They were both very responsive and concerned about giving us the best roofing job. As an example of Joey's concern, we had a power vent as well as a ridge vent on the old roof. The power vent was removed but Joey agreed to install a new one next June/July if the ridge vent did not provide sufficient ventilation. Many thanks for a great job.

I want to personally thank Krista Guy for helping me through the process she personally saw this through the end kept me updated and found reliable financing options that worked out better than expected thank you so much!!!

We just had a roof put on my mom’s house after the tornado. US Shingle did a wonderful job! We even got some compliments from another roofing company on the job they did! Crew was on-time, worked diligently, did great clean-up and the roof looks fantastic! They coordinated the entire claims process with the insurance company and brought in/recommended other contractors to repair fence, garage door, tree removal etc . We were pleased with the quality and workmanship on all the replacements/repairs and appreciated the way Joey and the crew worked with us to accomplish all the tasks smoothly and quickly. A big shout out to Joey and his crew for a great job!

Josh Walp and his team from US Shingle were doing work on our street in Birmingham. They came by and offered to fly their drone over our roof to see if we had hail damage like our neighbors. We in fact did have quite a bit of damage and that would explain some of the leaks we had seen recently. We live on Double Oak Mountain ridge and we have significant rain, hail and wind damage as we have no protection from the trees.

Josh worked in concert with our insurance company to ensure that we had coverage prior to starting the work and made it very easy to get the roof process reviewed. His team case in and removed our old shingles and installed the new ones in about 3 days.

They did an excellent job on our roof, kept the yard very clean and cleaned up things so well after they completed the job that we couldn't even tell they had been there (except for the amazing new roof job).

I would highly recommend Josh and his team. Fantastic job!!!

They did a terrible job, all the repairs were not up to code. Had to file a workmanship claim (warranty) a few months later.
The company went out of business, and the former owner would not honor any warranties...He now is the owner of a new roofing company.
We are reporting him and both businesses to the BBB. Pending legal actions.

I had these guys come out about a month ago to give me an estimate on a 25,000 commercial shingle roof. They sent an estimator out and he flew a drone around and looked at the scope of work for about 30 minutes. This was a Friday morning. He said I have an estimate by that afternoon.

After a couple of weeks with no estimate, I emailed the company as a reminder. I got no reply. I waited another week and emailed them again explaining that in my 20 years as a Facility Manager, this is the worst service I've ever gotten from a roofing company. Still no reply.

Blair Roofing is who I'll do business with in the future. They are clean cut, punctual, knowledgeable, and gave me a competitive bid within 24 hours.

If contracting companies don't want your money, don't give it to them.

5/29/2020 I need to edit my review because these guys are lying.

This is the first review I've ever left with a company, but my experience was so bad, I felt like I needed to do it.

1. I manage a Biotechnology company, not a nursing home.

2. I told the estimator that we would be paying for this job out of our capital expense budget because we had already tried to file an insurance claim and been denied.

3. The estimator absolutely told me I would have a bid by days end. But if not days end, how about a week, or two weeks? I'm not hard to please. I just wanted a bid to repair our building.

4. We are not looking to replace the roof because of "storm damage". We are looking to replace the roof because it is almost fifteen years old and it's leaking.

4. I absolutely sent two emails through your website. I have no reason to lie about that.

5. I absolutely made a call originally. I have no reason to lie about that.

6. No one ever "gave" me their personal cell number. The estimator called me from a number and said he was on his way. I get tons of calls every single day from numbers I don't know. I have no idea of knowing which one was his. Maybe give out a card, perhaps?

7. You can't leave a voicemail on my phone because the voicemail option is not set up as I answer every call that comes in with a great sense of urgency. I'm on call 24/7 as a Facility Manager.

All I wanted was a competitive bid on a 25,000 square foot roof replacement. I still haven't received it.

At the end of the day, you're in a people business. You all have failed miserably, in that aspect. This is a $100k opportunity you all just passed on. I hope it was worth it.

Highly recommend! Staff is great especially Krista in the office. She was very helpful & nice. Won’t be disappointed with their work!

Just want to say how great our experience was. Josh took the time to make sure we got the right product and had very competitive prices. As realtors and real estate investors, we know how important great companies are to our business. We look forward to working with Josh and US Shingle again.

After thorough research and a number of calls to other companies, we decided to go with U.S. Shingle. One of their specialists came out and gave us all the knowledge we needed to make an informed decision. I would personally recommend Mr. Josh Walp to anyone in need of their services.

I highly recommend US Shingle. The staff is phenomenal, always courteous and responsive. The owner is really good about getting things done, and the Front office lady is very professional and takes pride in helping her customers.

Had them to come out and inspect my roof and they were very honest with me and did not feel pressured at all.

I don’t like leaving bad reviews. It’s awkward and makes me uncomfortable. That being said, this has been a very bad experience. I’m hoping it was just an off situation for everyone.
I called and made an appointment. The appointment was postponed the day of and she said someone would come the following Monday.
No one showed. I called and she apologized profusely and said she’d be in touch.
One of their roofers (sorry, not sure I’m using the correct term) called and said he’d come by on his way home and that they’d accidentally scheduled me at 2AM instead of 2PM.
Okay. No big deal. Been there done that.
He comes by, checks my problem and tells me I will hear from him the next day.
The next day, nothing. My husband calls the day after that and they say they’ll be out that day. No one shows. My husband calls again and they said they’d be out between 6:30-7.
I get schedules get messed up. I really understand that. But please just communicate.
Someone comes to my door at 5 minutes til 8. He said he was there to do one thing.
He didn’t speak clear English so I didn’t understand what he was going to do because what the first person said was that there were two possibilities. This guy said he was there to do one of those things without even looking.
I told him I didn’t understand and that there were a couple of things he was supposed to check first. He acted confused and left.
We decided we were done.
My husband texted the number for the person he’d been talking to and the response is in the screenshot I got.
Really guys. My husband and I both run our own businesses and this is just absurdly unprofessional. So very unnecessarily rude.
Obviously I will not be recommending this company.
I contacted Alabama Roofing Professionals and they responded immediately. Hopefully someone can help us.
I’m going to apologize for leaving this review because I’m an empathetic person and hate being the bad guy. I’m sorry.

We researched about 10 roofing businesses in the Birmingham area to replace our roof. US Shingle had the best product and definitely the best warranty! Most roofing companies offered a limited warranty that was not transferable to the new homeowners. US shingles is transferable! The crew was extremely mindful of our dogs during demo and installation. BUT the biggest point I’d like to make is their cleanup at the end of each day and the entire project was METICULOUS!!! Literally all of our neighbors are having to go through roof replacements as well, and they are still finding roofing nails, etc. in their yard, driveway and street!!! Our representative (Keith Burton) was a pleasure to work with!!! We 100% recommend U.S. Shingle!

Great company. No hassle with the process of getting my roof approved by insurance. Joey made sure to always keep me informed of what was going on during the process.
