I called Chris Turner to help us make sure our mobile shower trailer was heated properly for winter use. With his help, our unhoused community members are going to be able to shower all winter long in a warm and cozy place. Had an emergent need and Chris responded quickly and was able to efficiently diagnose and fix the problem, restoring heat on a very cold day! Chris is prompt with responses and always presents in a professional manner, often going above and beyond in his attention to detail and quality of work. First of all, I would like to preface this review wtih, I have never left a negative review for anyone or any business. However, these Google reviews are meant to help consumers and prevent victimization. Unfortunately, I am unable to post the full review due to "character limits." I know we live in a new type of world where common sense, ethics and integrity is faltering, but my experience with Chris Turner felt to be more of a scam, than a job.

Chris was recommended by a painting company to replace boards (that they also recommended be replaced prior to painting and staining) on our front door. He came out looked at our door. He had all the time, and experience?, to adequately assess the door, boards, etc. He sent me a proposal to replace 3 boards.

When he came to do the job, he only replaced 2 boards and said that it is better that he not remove the other one. I lost confidence in him at the time, in that, was he even qualified or able to replace that board. When he informed me of this while doing the job, I told him over the phone, to do whatever you think is best and perform the work that you would do as if it was your own door. He told me it's better not to replace the board and that he would place filler or caulk in the wood. I was okay with that, and a few days later, when I opened up his contract to set up payment, I saw that he specifically stated he would replace the 3 boards, yet he was charging me the same EXACT amount of money. **He also charged me for the wood that he never replaced. ** After bring this up, he said he would send an updated invoice/ contract. He said that I could also pick up the wood piece from him and that it is at his home. He subsequently removed the $70 charge for the wood but altered the numbers, as to not decrease the price of the job yet, *only two thirds of the job was performed.*

He referred to his contract multiple times stating that if modifications of the contract are needed that he could undergo changes to the contract (red flag). BTW, It should also be noted that in his contract he states. **There is a 10% accumulative daily penalty ** for not paying (there is no "net 7 day," or "net 14 day" type verbiage in the contract for when payment is due). He also told my wife that he charges $800 a day for labor even if the job will take him 2 to 3 hours.

I was acceptable of this and assumed he was the best person for the job. I didn't mind paying a lot of money to have these 3 boards replaced knowing that he could do it. But in hindsight, I wonder if he had true intentions to replace that particular board. How can you charge the same amount if the job wasn't completed as discussed/contracted?

It should also be noted that he used a particular "wood filler" that was unable to be sanded down, even though he knew staining and painting would be done over these boards. This is what the paint company painter told me. The painter told me he had to remove all of the filler that he put on and replaced it w different type of filler, that could be sanded down.

I highly recommend that you do not use this person for any work. I have such a hesitancy now to trust people after this incident. Will a contractor do what they say they will do? I tried to make to him understand and gave him the opportunity to make it right, but he refused and charged me whatever he felt like charging me.

In summary, he charged me over $1000 to remove and install 2 boards at the very edge of the door and for placing a filler or caulk substance on the board he said would replace; it was the most integral board (adjacent to the door hinges). Initially, he charged me the exact same price for the labor of replacing the board he did not install. He rearranged the numbers and essentially got what he initially requested.

I would highly recommend that you avoid this person and his deceptive business practices.

I’m very happy with the work performed by TCR. In particular, I was very impressed with Chris, the owner. His professionalism, honesty and integrity stood out at all times and he was always quick to respond to any questions.

Chris was very professional and helpful dealing with the issues we had from the 2023 June hailstorm that devastated the property he was able to replace all the shingles on the house and Burns and outbuilding Replace Vinyl siding on house and help with windows cleaned up after themselves was very professional would highly recommend him to anybody If I didn't have store damage and I needed some Remodeling I would call him My wife and I thank you Chris to you and the cruise you had working on our property

We highly recommend Turner Construction! Chris is a GREAT contractor to work with. We had ice storm damage to our house. Chris explained our options at every step and made sure we would be happy with the final result. We needed debris removal, re-siding and extensive electrical work. The professionals he brought in to do the jobs were excellent. Chris worked with our insurance and ensured we were getting a good value. Chris made sure that nothing fell through the cracks and we are so happy with the final outcome.
