I have a 48 x 22 two story building that was completed by Permabilt. This was by far the easiest and smoothest process I have been involved with. I contacted the Sales Rep who showed up with all the necessary “as built” drawings and helped me design the building to fit on the lot. The permit process took time but that was due to the backlog on the county side. Once the permit was approved, things moved smoothly and construction began almost immediately. The construction crew was very professional and worked long hours to complete the building. Catherine the construction manager was absolutely on the ball and kept the entire project moving along. Any issues that came up, she was problem solving them immediately so there were no delays. Just to note, there were very few issues with the construction and at the end, there were no items to note on the punch list! I would recommend Permabilt to anyone looking to build.

Town & Country did a great job customizing a new garage to suit our needs and preferences. There is a bit of a timeline to the process, but the end result was exactly what we wanted. They handled the permitting and scheduling, so it was very easy. We are very satisfied with the result!

The PermaBilt entire team (from Salesman to Jose finishing us up) did such an outstanding job building our second garage. Everyone that we encountered was as pleasant & professional as could be. We also need to give Catherine a huge shout out! She did an excellent job keeping us informed and content. Our garage was done exactly as to what we had agreed to in our contract. We are extremely happy and would highly recommend PermaBilt to anyone considering building anything with them.

The Permabilt team did an outstanding job building my second garage and shop. They did what they said they would and when they said they'd do it. The two main gentlemen who built the structure were a joy to work with. They were very professional and very good craftsman. They always left the build site cleaned up at the end of each day. Everything was done exactly as we had agreed in the contract. We're very satisfied with the work the Permabilt team did and would highly recommend them to anyone considering building an outbuilding, barn, extra garage etc.

Permabiult repaired the damage to my 27-year-old pole building after a mature fir tree fell on it during 90 mph wind store. The two-person crew sent to perform the structural repair did an awesome job. They were professional and their work quality is incredible. The roll up door repair was also trouble-free with the results being top quality. I’m very happy to have worked with Permabiult to repair my shop.

I had Perma built build my shop about 20 years ago and it has held up very well. I had to have them come out twice when trees fell on the shop and they made repairs and very reasonably priced. Great workmanship.

PermaBilt made this process very easy and I would definitely call them on my next building. The process from start to finish was explained up front at the time of signing the contract and every step of the process the communication was great.

It all started with Darrin being able to put our thoughts to paper to design the building. The process of getting the permit to build in Thurston County took over a year, and Permabilt representative, Erzhena, was very instrumental in getting the permit. For example, we worked together (Erzhena's expertise and my research) to navigate Thurston County's environmental and drainage laws and find the correct consultant to do the job. Before they started construction, the technical sales person, Darrin, made several trips to the property to help resolve issues. The Construction Dept. did a great job coordinating with us to complete the construction. Finally, two young people worked tirelessly and meticulously (rain or shine) to build the structure. Wow, it was really inclement weather some days.
Thank you Permabilt staff.

The process of getting the permit to build in Thuston County took over a year, and Permitbuilt's representative, Erzhena was instrumental in getting the permit. Two young people (by my standards) worked tirelessly (rain or shine) to build the structure. More to come.

I had Town and Country build a workshop. After the permit was issued, the shop was constructed in a matter of days. I am happy with the shop and getting it constructed was a great experience. I would get another building from them. I recommend them if you are looking for a post frame building.

Attentive staff, Very experienced and Dynamite two man crew. Site was kept clean and materials well managed. Concrete crew went well beyond my expectations and were drop dead sexy. I've been in construction for a long time and said I'd never have a pole building but Town & Country has defiantly changed my mind. A1 Quality and service, Thank you T&C : Ricky D.

I had this building built to help with space so I could move my elderly parents in with us. The building turned out great. I wish I could say the same for our property. We had repeatedly told them where our sewer washout was located. The construction crew still managed to run it over and crushed the pipe. The plans they drew up also had it marked in the wrong spot. This building is now costing me an additional 14k dollars.

We used permabilt for our 36x60 barn and are very happy with the result. After shopping around and getting different quotes, I’m confident that we got the best value for the money with them. Everything turned out exactly how we wanted and their quality of construction was top notch. All of their employees as well as the subs used for the building did excellent work. The whole process from the first site visit to final inspection was well organized and well communicated. From the start of construction to final cleanup, the build took just over 2 months. If I were to build another out building I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Update 4/13: Perma Built has reached out to issued our refund. Our salesman was great, but I feel the finance/ refund dept. could use some work. The timeline and lack of communication with getting the refund issued could use some work. As long as your permit is approved, I'm sure this would be a decent company we just unfortunately didn't get that far.

Original review: Signed a contract with Perma Built to build us a detached garage on our property. They scheduled a site visit, came back to sign contact and begin submitting permits to the city. City contacted us saying we could not build a detached structure on our lot, and permit declined. We contacted Perma Built and they told us they knew nothing about this and contacted the city, and were told the exact same thing. We then asked about getting our deposit refunded minus any costs for their time and engineering work. After multiple phone calls to them, and never hearing back we keep getting told someone will look into it. And here we are.. Still no calls, responses or any effort of them working to resolve this. Wouldn't waste your time. All sounds great initially, but good luck if things don't workout to build, and you request your deposit back. The contract clearly states deposit to be refunded minus any costs incurred. All I'm asking is for what the contract we signed, says.

PermaBuilt built , from the ground up , a complete pole barn structure on my pre-prepared site . PermaBuilt took care of the permit process and all associated inspections from start to finish . Our building was 28'x34' , with two man doors , a 10'x10' sliding door (double sliding) , and five 3"x4' windows . The framing was wrapped with Tyvek prior to siding installation and roof framing was covered with a vapor barrier before sheeting , gutters and downspouts were installed and concrete slab poured and finished in quick order . Building structure time was fifteen days , concrete time was six hours and gutters and downspouts were less than an hour ! Color and trim was spot-on including eave vents and awnings over both man doors . Yes ! I look forward to using PermaBuilt again !

I called to receive an estimate for a 20'x40' garage building. An appointment was scheduled two weeks out from my phone call. When the guy arrived he said it would take a couple weeks to receive an estimate. What??? 2 weeks for a quote!!?? Its been over 3 weeks and still nothing. Plus, if an order was placed it would take over a year before an install could take place. I understand the pandemic has caused delays but the timing for everything with this company is off the charts, in my opinion.

We contracted with the Lynnwood, WA Town & Country division of PermaBilt to build an RV Garage. The sales rep was decent and thorough. He did not make the sale and run. He stayed with us all the way ensuring things were going smoothly. We had a few hiccups with our first expeditor but this was fixed immediately and we have not had any problems since.
Working during the Corona Virus shutdown and precautions made any construction challenging and often delayed, however, Town & Country worked through all requirements and moved our project along at a decent pace.
The quality of the products is pretty good. When we had an issue with the color of our gutters (What was called "Dark Grey" turned out to be "Light Gray," T&C got the replacement color within a week. The result was excellent.
Most of the vendors T&C selected to work on our RV Garage were decent and professional doing good work. The Garage/Pole Barn went up fairly quickly, too.
All in all, we are very happy with the work performed and the product we received.

This is my second experience building a pole building - my first experience with PermaBilt. And that experience is mixed. There have been construction issues that they've later returned to address. Multiple return trips. One of the fascia trim pieces was never nailed and fell off, the window trim wasn't symmetrical, they used 2x8s on the rafter tails when they should have used 2x10s, the entry door wouldn't shut, the company I hired to install my garage door openers had to adjust the doors installed by the PermaBilt contractor, the trim on the peak of the roof wasn't nailed right, the gutters aren't sloped right and hold water, and my biggest thorn - my absolute biggest complaint - the concrete was very, very, very poorly done. The concrete was done by a separate contractor that PermaBilt uses. My guess - the lowest bidder. PermaBilt had to replace the outside entrance pad that the concrete contractor should be ashamed at his sloppy, sloppy workmanship. PermaBilt says the cracks I have on my concrete floor are normal - I'm not talking about the expansion joints, I'm talking about cracks in arbitrary spots on the floor. Even the expansion joints are sloppy. Overall I have a building and am enjoying the use I get out of it. PermaBilt has been responsive to my issues. I have to wonder at the rave reviews though - perhaps it's the crew that did their work that makes the difference. Maybe my crew was inexperienced. If I had to do it over I'd look at a different company. If I knew what I know now I would definitely hire my own contractor for gutters and concrete.

It was great working with town and country from initial consultation to the finished building. There were a few weather related delays but that is to be expected in winter. I love my new shop and definitely recommend them for your building needs.

What a great experience! From the start Will our sales Rep was thorough, put together a package to suit or wants and needs. Chris the contractor did a great job building our Barn. The jobsite was always clean. He came out on the weekend to finish up. We're very happy with this company and will be having them put up another building in the future.

I spent a lot of time researching Post Frame builders for my 20' x 30' shop. Town and Country showed strong reviews and I decided to contract my work with them. I am glad I did. The entire process, from initial planning to completion was very positive. Everyone I dealt with along the way, from the salespeople, to the construction crews were highly professional and kept me well informed along the way. The building is top quality and looks amazing. I would definitely use them again!

Everyone at Town & Country was very responsive and great to work with! Timelines were exactly as discussed. The construction team built us a top notch garage that was exactly as planned. They were the most conscientious construction crew Ive ever worked with and left the area spotless when they were done.

Fantastic experience with PermaBilt! The only bad part of our build was with the concrete contractors splattering the walls. PermaBilt worked hard to correct the mistake and we are happy with our building! Very nice and professional group of people.

Very professional. I liked the workmanship .They were always upfront with us.If we had questions they were able to answer them. When we signed the contracts we were told it could be as much as 6 months before they could start because they were so busy. It was worth the wait. We are very happy with the outcome.

We are looking into building a new commercial structure and met a rep at our property. Said he would get back to us with plans and approximate costs. We were up front in telling him that we were just looking for ball park figure on the actual building to see if this was even feasible and understood that there would be additional costs as we expanded things and considering permits, groundwork etc. We spent considerable time with him and he promised to have a drawing and pricing to us within a week or so. That was several MONTHS ago - never heard back from him and never responded to calls. This is regarding an employee at the PUYALLUP office only - I have no experience with the other office. Funny thing is, if they had gotten back to us they probably would have had more than one job as we are looking into building another building on another piece of property we have as well....so lost out on two commercial buildings. I do count us fortunate that we aren't in the same situation as another reviewer who has paid them and has been waiting and waiting for construction to begin. So I guess we are better off that they didn't follow through.

Maybe my review might change to slightly better if my building ever gets built. I contacted permabilt about a year ago and when rep came out and did bid was told building would be built in spring. We decided to go with permabilt. Pricing looked right. Once I signed contract was last time they have willingly given info on process. I had to baby sit permitting process as the first permit application they didn't give info to county in time and it expired. Then I had to contact them when I noticed my sight need soil sample to see what needed to be done. The permit was finally completed and nobody co contacted me. I had to call them a few weeks ago to see when my building might be built. Which they said maybe beginning of November. And today my wife been thinking she might want to change color we picked so I called to see if metal had been ordered and it hadn't but to change color they still wanted to charge me a fee. One more thing they have waited so lo g to start project that pricing gone up and they want a change order.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
