I cant say enough good about Russ Swanson and TOP DECK CONSTRUCTION, LLC. We discussed our need for a deck, he came right out to the house the next day and we made a plan for the deck of our dreams. He sent us a diagram of what it would look like and we were pleased with the design as he followed what we requested. Between time of taking our order to actually starting construction, he kept us informed when he was planning to come. He built us a large deck and had 3 guys besides himself working on it. Everyone of them were courteous and Russ was always there to answer any questions or concerns. They worked well as a team, no wasting of time and Russ was right on top of it supervising their work. They also cleaned up the area perfectly. I couldn't have asked for more. We would use them again in a heartbeat and recommend them to everyone, you won't be disappointed.

If you want quality workmanship and a professional crew, then you have landed in the right spot. Russ was extremely knowledgeable and his workers do not need babysitting. They left the worksite clean at the end of every day, no nails in my driveway to wind up in my car tires.

Our deck is 35 years old and was in great need of repair. We reached out to a few companies who told us we would have to replace the deck and the cost was way out of our budget. We are so thankful that a friend recommended Russ!

My wife, Kim, and I are EXTREMELY HAPPY with Russ’s Team at TOP DECK CONSTRUCTION. They recently replaced our old deck with a new one and it is nothing less than SPECTACULAR! We absolutely love the work he and his team did for us. Prior to starting the project, Russ met with my wife and I and provided us with many options. He and his team (Dan and Rusty) were meticulous in building our new deck. They took no short cuts and were extremely detail oriented. We were extremely impressed by their dedication and work ethic. Russ goes strictly by the book and secured both the appropriate zoning and building permits before his team started working on our deck. His team removed the old deck in one day and began working on the foundation of the new deck the next day. His team worked tirelessly non-stop on hot days, cold days, rainy days, and even snow days! I was in search of a new front porch to be built, and Top Deck Construction came highly recommended by friends -( I can see why) I Googled Top Deck Construction- read the reviews from satisfied customers, and viewed their outstanding work.
I contacted Russ regarding my inquiry on my home improvement project. He provided me with several options, quotes, and availability to work on my front porch. When my project was set to go, Russ, Dan, and Rusty were on time and cleaned up the area. The finished project turned out fantastic. I recently hired Top Deck Construction to replace my existing 12’ x 12’ deck, railing and privacy fence to my condominium. Russ and his team built us a beautiful wrap around deck around our pool - we have received some many compliments on how beautiful and well built our deck is. These guys are hard workers! Russ and the crew did an awesome job. They took down the 30 year old rickety deck and replaced it with a solid masterpiece. It was definitely an upgrade for us. Russ and his crew knew their trade and building code requirements. They met all the challenges that our 2-level deck presented, and married it to the lower level patio with minimal impact on the garden areas that surrounded the old deck. We had constant communications during the project as Russ had suggestions and explained some challenges. In the end even the building inspector said he thought it was a 'well built' deck at final inspection(wink!)

A couple of summers ago, I had to demolish my original deck since the wood was rotting and it was starting to fall apart. My patio door is on a second level so I needed someone to build a new deck if I ever wanted to sell my house in the future.

As a general for myself, I always take 3 different bids for any big project. Out of all 3 contractors that my wife and I spoke to, Russ had the most competitive price and was the most professional one. From the very beginning to the completion of the deck, Russ was a pleasure to work with.

The deck was completed much more quickly than I anticipated and my family absolutely loves having one again. I am not an expert by any means but the deck seems to be very well made. As long as it is properly maintained over the years, I feel like it should lasts a long time. I would definitely hire Russ again if I ever need a deck or something similar in the future. We are very happy with the job that Russ and Dan did on our deck. They did everything according to code. Even the building inspector remarked about the high quality of their workmanship. When Russ promised that work would begin in December on the deck we were somewhat doubtful. But, thanks to some balmy days during December and their diligence to our project it was completed by the end of the month. Now we have a beautiful new deck to enjoy as soon as Wisconsin weather permits. Russ gave us good recommendations as far as decking material, spindles, and apron type. Russ developed a detailed plan for replacing our deck surface. We had to change our time frame and he was very accommodating. He and Dan recognized framework that had to be replaced and other modifications to the original plan. The deck looks great and everything was cleaned up. It is not common to find this combo and such expertise these days and wait until you compare Russ and Top Deck to others. Russ and Dan did a great job. They arrived and removed the old deck and removed all debris from the premises. Russ got the building permit, set the new frame structure, set the support rafters, and placed the deck boards that showed quality and approved building specs. As he completed the project, he continuously verified what I wanted and any changes were implemented in a fair and economical manner. The results were just what I expected and great results. Upon completion, all debris was cleaned up.

Some of the changes did raise my cost, but he was very upfront with what the additional cost would be so I could make my final decision if those changes were worth it to me. He was also very fair in his pricing. The quality of their work was fantastic. Russ knows exactly what he is doing. Without being asked, they cut around each board and batten siding piece to make the deck look finished against the house. He also had some great design ideas that we incorporated.

I highly recommend Russ and his team. I will definitely be calling him again for any future deck needs.
