The crew at Tonkin are amazing. We have bought our vehicles from them for years. The process was so smooth. Our salesman this time was Jorge Lujano. He was amazing to work with. Thank you Tonkin and thank you Jorge.

We were traveling to pacific city when we broke down west of biggs junction. After getting Nowhere with gms roadside service. I dealt with Beau the service guy at Tonkin. Unfortunately we couldnt get to the dealership till next morning because of issues with GMs roadside service. I got my pickup there right before Tonkin opened. Between Jeff the mechanic’s expertise and efficiency and Beau’s. They had me back on the road in no time. Thanks Gentleman!

This place is solid! The team gave me my first truck service, free, and they did a great job. What's more, they did the service with my truck camper on the back of the pickup truck. I plan to get all my Chevy service here when I'm in the Gorge.

I trust them completely with my Camaro that is a show car! They are so careful and care about their work! The service team is fantastic, everyone is so nice to deal with.
And as a women it's nice to be spoken to with respect and not as if I am not aware of what I'm talking about when it comes to my car! They are never rude and make you feel completely comfortable and assured that they will treat your vehicle with the utmost care!
Bo Anderson the service advisor is outstanding!
And I don't tell you you need a bunch of things that you don't need!
They are truthful! I actually thought I needed more than I did, and after some tests it showed I didn't.
So I trust them with my car that they will do right by me!
Thankful to have them!

I wish that I could call someone to set up by service appointments, but I have to use an app. So I asked my hubby to do it for me. Only complaint. The staff and service department are great and efficient

The service was fine! The poor lady checking me in was busting her butt to do everything while others around her were enjoying the afternoon! I also had coupons that I gave her before the appointment and had to ask if they’d been applied at the cashier! They weren’t and the cashier had to go get them! She did apply them but. My only real concern is access to the customer waiting area! My disabled daughter was with me in her wheelchair! I had to pull it over the steps, and then down the steps with no help! No one offered to help or tell me where there was an access ramp!

We were traveling from Minnesota when on a Thursday night about 4:00 pm our check engine light came on with a message that DEF fluid was out and speed was about to be reduced. I just added DEF less than 100 miles earlier so something else was going wrong. We called talked to the business manager and she connected us with the service manager. Tonkin was closing at 5:00 pm and we arrived about 4:56. Service manager Bo waited for us and assured us that his technician could look at it first thing Friday morning. We were allowed to park our fifth wheel in the back of the lot and stay there with our two small Border Terriers.
As promised the next morning we were moved into the shop for diagnosis. The problem was identified as well as another small leak I did not know about. Tonkin surprisingly had the parts in stock. The repairs were made and we were on our way by the middle of the afternoon.
While we were waiting we considered a trade in for a newer model. The salesman Bob?? talked with us and helped us decide if we really wanted to do this and what it would take to make it happen.
In the end we went with the repairs.
If we were not from Minnesota I definitely would make Tonkin my dealer and service location.
Thanks for making our stressful situation easier.

The service was done in the amount of time the rep said it would be done. While I would normally give 5 stars for the work, a warning light that was to be tuned off was still showing. I should have brought my car right back as I’m sure they would have corrected that. Unfortunately I didn’t notice until part way home. So now I have to bring the car back. That’s a 4 star experience, not 5. That said, they run good service specials and are always prompt, professional, courteous, and accommodating.

I canceled part of my appointment & they didn’t have a concern about it, as they were busy! Also reminded me that I need to budget for the 60K maintenance as I’m 7K overdue… also, they said my cabin filter was dirty and I would have had them change it if they had called me to notify me! Oh well

Brought my Kia Forte in thinking they serviced Kias, they do not..however they did diagnose the problem and went out of thier way to find aftermarket parts and try to assist me unfortunately I did not have another few hours to wait and my kia is still under warranty
I did have to wait for 4 hours which was the only negative part of my experience due to them not being a Kia dealership I did expect additional wait time
Overall I would definitely recommend

They try to do their best. That's all you can ask sometimes. Understaffed and hustling. But living in the gorge they have better customer service then most places. You can reach out to me personally if you want more details. When you own a Chevy bolt you should expect to spend time at the dealership. And expect it to be there for a while. It's a GM issue Parts are slow. Technology and education behind. I would go back

Lucas was very helpful getting me checked in and keeping me informed during my service. He even checked a couple tomes to see if I needed a shuttle during my wait. I really appreciated the video the mechanic sent me while checking my car over. My car was repaired and good to go in a few hours. The online scheduling is simple and convenient.

TLDR: Instead of using the Chevrolet Service area of Tonkin Chevrolet, I now take my Chevrolet vehicle to a dealership in Portland, over two hours away from me. I drive two hours to avoid this dealership. I don't trust them.

The Chevrolet Service area kept forgetting to put the wheel lug nut key back in my vehicle after they serviced it.

The second time this happened, I discovered it before I was about to drive a couple hours to Bend to get new tires installed on the vehicle. It was on a Saturday and I called the Chevrolet Service desk to confirm if they were open or not. Their voicemail message said they were open that day and I also left a voicemail message. I then drove a half hour to them to try to retrieve my wheel lug nut key (again).

I find them closed, despite the hours mentioned on their voicemail. The Subaru Service side was open but they wouldn't go over to the Chevrolet Service desk to see if my wheel lock key was there. My trip to The Dalles was a complete waste.

I ended up just driving to Bend and the tire company had to drill the wheel locks off of my vehicle. This happened last year and I have never had a call back from that voicemail message I left.

I have been scheduling my vehicle service with Carr Chevrolet in the Portland area instead, which is two hours away from me.

Oil change and check engine light. Got the work done on time, while I waited. Fresh oil for the engine and a software update fixed the check engine light. Done in 90 minutes from when I pulled in.

I walk in for oil change I came out with a 2025 Subaru… I was walking around browsing looking at all the cars.. I’ve been looking for a truck
So I started talking to the salesman” George”
He was real knowledgeable and respectful..
We talked for a long time…I explain my situation to him… he said he was willing to help me..
I asked him a lot of questions, and he answered them all… and some!!!
He worked with me big time…. I recommend him to anybody that is looking for a vehicle. This is the place and the person to talk to you. He’s about business.

We had a note giving us a free oil change and tire rotation so we got a appointment. When we arrived they took us right in and within less than 30 minutes they were done. When they came out and told us it was done. He gave us the paperwork and there was a cost on it. He told us don't worry about he just needed to find out what to do. They did the work fast and as far as I know they did a good job. I would take my car back.

Had. A great experience with Tonkin of the gorge!! They were so helpful and extremely accommodating , made it a very smooth first car purchase . I live a couple hours away and had to make a special trip to the dealership all the paperwork for the most part was taken care of by email so it made it much easier and quicker process.
