Great experience with Koala for insulation removal and replacement. Joe was able to get me in contact with respected contractors for electrical work and other miscellaneous items. Air sealing and replacing old insulation has cooled out upstairs about 5-8 degrees on average on warm days, we are more than happy with the results and price for install plus accommodating gable vent installation. Highly recommend!

Koala insulation is the best. All of the employees are very nice, they were on time, kept the house clean, removed my old insulation, and filled my attic with 14+ inches of new fiberglass insulation. The price was also much better than a previous estimate I had obtained

Koala insulation was wonderful to work with. The sales person, Joe was professional, friendly, and answered all of our questions as well as our concerns we had. Our house was build in 1976 and had several types of insulation used over the years. It was looking really ugly in the attic.
The crew came on time, were very efficient, did not create a mess. They took photos of all the process before removing the old insulation and more after new insulation was blown in to the attic and over the garage. They did a great job sealing all the light fixture gaps, other areas when there were air leaks between the attic and the interior of the house before installing the insulation to current code.
We appreciated Koala Insulation’s timely communication and updates as well as the easy ways offered to make payments for the service.
The crew made sure to check we us before leaving to make sure everything was satisfactory and met our expectations.
I would certainly recommend Koala if you are looking to replace old insulation or to add to your existing insulation to bring it up to current code.

Joe was awesome and informative, the installers were very respectful of my home, they put down plastic through my house to the accessed areas for installing insulation and the owner of the company was nice to send me photos of everything they did so I would not have to dig through my newly installed insulation to see if everything they said they were going to do was done. I used koala insulation a couple of times over the past few years, They never disappoint. I had an emergency situation on a job in Beaverton and Joe’s team responded quickly, and efficiently. Absolute professionals with a great on-site attitude. Friendly easy to deal with, Have clear communication and are transparent about cost. I absolutely recommend koala and I will personally be using them again in the future.

Work was done well. Communication was good. Would have appreciated if they let me know I needed to file for Oregon Energy Trust credits within 120 of when work was completed. That cost me $800. I had assumed this was to be filed with my taxes. It's not.

Koala did a fantastic friendly knowledgeable job. They were the third insulation company we contacted. The first two flaked out and the 2nd one didn't have any English speaking personnel. Joe took the measurements, spent 3 hours with us going over the process, and explained all the details. We had to have the insulation process done in multiple non-consecutive days due to all our items blocking access from one side to the other. Koala Insulation did a great job for us! They replaced the aged insulation in our attic and insulated our garage, both "drill and fill" as well as some batt insulation with FSK paper. The garage is noticeably "less cold" (not warmer since it is in the 30s out!). Great work to Joe and the whole team!!

We first had Koala Insulation's Sales Consultant Joe Anschutz out to take a look at our attic before we even knew we needed new insulation. I had noticed there was condensation on the nails and some spots of mold.

He was super friendly and crawled up to diagnose what was going on. He saw a lot of thermal leaking from vents and walls, as well as an opening in our HVAC return (it looked like someone had sat on it before we bought the house).

Joe didn't pressure me at all; he just wanted me to know what was going on up there and honestly said to prioritize the mold/ventilation.

After getting the mold treated, we had Koala's crew come out for the insulation. They were done in 6 hours, exactly what they said at the start. They cleaned up after themselves and it was a job well done. They even went above and beyond the contract to seal up our HVAC duct and re-insulate it in addition to the blown-in insulation.

Several hours later, I noticed a strange buzzing in the hallway, which I traced to a certain breaker (which I turned off for safety). It was after 5 p.m. on a Friday, but I was still able to get a hold of Joe and he promised to come out Monday and take a look at it.

He crawled up there and discovered that the buzzing was coming from a box that housed an old doorbell system that we didn't even know existed. The crew must've bumped it or something.

Anyway, he called one of Koala's on-call electricians and that guy (Andrew with BX Electric) came out and capped the box, solving the issue that same day. The noise was gone.

They were responded quickly, were attentive, and even with the minor issue, did a great job. I would recommend.

Wow! It has been a long time since a company exceeded my expectations. The estimator was prompt and thorough. The scheduling was very efficient. The best part was the installation. Blown away is my first thought. Removal of 75 years of contractor leave behinds. Special attention to repairing any energy inefficiencies. Hand wrapping all the metal ducts with new insulation after removal of all the old. Then when I couldn’t be more impressed blowing in 17” of new insulation after removal. My attic resembles a pink cloud. My furnace has been given a huge break, our home has a balanced warm silence and I do believe I just made a great contribution to reduce climate change.
Who knew? Koala knew!

The guys showed up on time and got right at it. They insulated my 1963 exterior walls by primarily working from inside. In some areas they had to work from the outside. They worked hard all day and did a very nice job and cleaned up the areas nicely. I was impressed with Alex and the three other crew members and I would highly recommend them. I hope to have a more comfortable home and to save money on my heating bill. Thanks guys for a job well done!

We recently use koala to insulate our garage in our house in Scappoose, Oregon gentleman that came out and did the bidding was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to help us Get the correct insulation that we would need to make our garage warmer. He also told us about a possible tax credit that we could get which no one else had mentioned out of the other four bids that I got koala came out put in the insulation and also installed baffles. They cleaned up and was out in no time I highly recommend him.

We had Koala insulation here recently too insulate our garage ceiling. The crew arrived at scheduled time, did a good job in a difficult area. Like a lot of others our garage is used for house hold storage on one side and my husband’s work shop on the other. We are happy with the results and they were quick to address a couple of minor hiccups. Recommend

The guys took 2 days to completely insulate my house. After the 1st day, I could tell that my floors were insulated. After the 2nd day, it is a whole new house, no squeaking or noise. The most impressive to me was that Koala cleaned the house before they left. 10 out of 10 and they deserve more stars than 10!!

Having bought my first home during the pandemic, I was really at a loss at what I should do first. High in the priority list was attic insulation and getting wall insulation blown in , but I didn’t have the money and was expecting quite a cost. Well, after experiencing a few years of poor attic insulation and no insulation in the walls, I knew there had to be reason for the fuss. Koala was highly recommended to me by my coworker friend who’d recently bought an older home. Joe from Koala was met me and my spouse at our home and really spent time with us to understand our options and up front about pricing but also how much we would be saving with instant and later tax rebates. The team working with Joe were very attentive, skilled and efficient. They were willing to answer questions during the two days to complete the job, just as estimated. The density of the blown in insulation was more than we expected and once they were done, we could literally feel the difference. I wish we wouldn’t have waited so long to do this, but also we wouldn’t have found Koloa on our own and had the confidence from knowing someone who had a great experience beforehand. We would definitely recommend Koala to anyone and use them for our insulation needs in the future.

It started with Joe coming out to provide an estimate, providing education about the process, a detailed analysis of available rebates, and even some weatherization tips. From the first time I talked to nice folks at Koala, I could tell they were professionals. I found them through the energy trust site hoping to find a company who specialized in insulation and understood the rebates and tax incentives. They did a great job and I know my renters will be more comfortable this winter!

We are a contractor and this was on own home. They came and did what they were supposed to without any surprises or issues. Its what I expect from a good subcontractor.

Great experience getting my 90 year old attic bedroom insulated to avoid suffocating high temps in the summer. Plus, my basement bedroom ceiling insulated to reduce sounds coming from upstairs activity. Koala team has been excellent from initial bid to installation which was painless and Alex made sure everything was complete and cleaned up before they departed. I had 2 roofing company estimates to add more vents but Koala fixed the problem using insulation and vents at 1/2 the cost of roofing company estimates. Yay!

I would give 6 stars if I could. Nicest most courteous folks ever. Super helpful working with problems caused by my roofing contractor who screwed up the schedule multiple times. Koala Insulation did a wonderful job on my crawlspace. They were quick, efficient, polite, and helpful. They really went out of their way to make sure every possible entry point for critters was sealed off. They even unclogged my dryer vent while they were down there just because they noticed it, not because I asked. Nicest group of guys you'll ever work with! The billing system was also super easy. I highly recommend!

I live in an older manufactured home and the insulation underneath was a mess. One area was ok, but the rest had falling down insulation or none at all! Koala rep, Joe Anschutz, came to my house and took a very careful look at what I had, didn't have, then sat down with me and worked up a detailed estimate of what he recommended, including options and pricing.
The installation guys came out right on time as scheduled and were amazing. They were able to answer my questions about the installation process before starting the work. It went very smoothly and the work looks fantastic. They also left a clean work area.

Joe and his team did a great job! They were all extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The cost of the project was very reasonable too! They had me booked for 2 days but the team did all the work in 1! But I'm giving only 4 stars because there was some minor damage to my ceiling because the team was moving so fast. The owner called and offered to send a drywall guy to do the repairs but I am very familiar with how to do these and when I told him that he was very appreciative but still didn't offer to discount my bill. Understood. My only other problem is now the shear number of text messages and emails asking me for reviews and referrals! I understand these requests but the volume of them is crazy! And yes, I have now blocked their correspondence. Overall I do highly recommend them, just be prepared!

Great service. Everyone Starting with Joe the estimator, and ending with Ivan and the installation crew were great To work with.. One of the challenges I have with many contractors is communication. Not with these guys. Quality work at a fair price. I highly recommend them.

I was having a new heat pump installed and the HVAC guys said that half of the insulation was falling down and that over half of the crawlspace under my house had never been insulated! The HVAC guys couldn't do the job and I searched the internet and I found Koala. It was sort of a rush because they wanted to get the heat pump in and Joe from Koala came out either Monday or Tuesday for an estimate. He crawled under the house and measured and we had a bid in about an hour. He also said that since there had never been insulation in part of the house we could get some rebates and tax credits! That brought down the cost by about 18%! The crew showed up on the Friday of that week!! and pulled up all the fallen insulation and replaced the vapor barrier and sealed up the foundation holes with mesh wire and foam to keep out vermin and air from going to the wrong places. They hauled all the garbage away and were done. I waited to hear from the HVAC guy on how it looked and he said that they had done an excellent job and he saw no problems at all. He appreciated the new, clean, vapor barrier and the insulation up in the floor joists and not on the ground. I called several places and the cost was well within the range for this kind of work and with the rebate, tax credit, and quick installation, I feel like we got a very competitive price and an excellent job done. I would recommend Koala to anyone needing insulation!

My sales rep, Joe, was the most knowledgable of about 7 professionals who looked at my attic. He was quick in getting my quote and I booked right away. Then we found out we had to have abatement. Koala was great to work with through the 3 month process of rescheduling and changing up the work request. The guys who came out to install were knowledgeable, friendly and cheerful. They finished the job in 6 hours rather then the 8-10 I was expecting. The work was fabulous- better than expected. And they cleaned up after themselves and the abatement crew that came before them. I hope sincerely that I never need this done again- but if I do, Koala will be my first call.

They were the middle bid but I was so impressed with the professionalism and kindness of the estimator that I went with Koala. The crew was curtious and worked quickly. My house used to get hotter than the outside temp bc there was no ventilation in the crawl space. We got the crawl space insulated and vents installed and when it hit 100F yesterday my 1200sqft home stayed under 80F inside with just a window AC in the living room and a portable AC in the back bedroom. 10/10 would recommend.

Koala Insulation of West Portland did a fantastic job. The job involved (all in the attic) installing baffles in several places, adding 3" of blown fiberglass insulation (about 2000 sq.ft.), twining up batts around skylights and other vertical places, covering exposed fire sprinkler pipes with insulation (about 60'), applying foam insulation to seal openings to living spaces, and adding depth gauges. The quote was very reasonable. The assessor and the company owner were easily accessible to answer questions and accommodate suggestions. The installers, all very pleasant to deal with, did a superb job -- arriving at the appointed time, completing the work in a timely manner, and cleaning up afterwards. I have no hesitation giving 5 star rating. Anil

We needed them after a storm and crawlspace/water damage. They called us back on a Sunday! The fellow who came to do the estimate was timely, polite, mentioned a couple of other problems he observed and gave us options. The workers were polite, hard working and careful of our home. Work in both attic and crawl space was done nicely. We would definitely recommend Koala Insulation.

Requested bids from 3 company's. Koala's price was in the middle. Excepted their bid. Job took 2 days. The work was exceptional. They worked quickly and efficiently. When they finished you couldn't even tell any work had been done at all, the area was so clean.

I requested a bid to replace basement/crawlspace insulation, but Joe, the company representative, said that the existing insulation was good for a few more years and that new batting was unneeded right now. Koala Insulation made the right decision to hire Joe; he was both affable and honest, and while he was in the basement/crawlspace, he pushed up some of the drooping batting. So, I didn't hire them, but would in the future.

These folks are top of the industry yet charge like they were average or below average. In quickly to assess project followed by an estimate and arrived on time for project and accomplished faster than estimated with pictures if I wanted. Then followed up with a call a few days later to see if I was happy and discussed potential future projects all of which will lower the cost of heating and air conditioning. You will Not go wrong with this company!

Working with Koala Insulation was such a fast and easy process. They reached out minutes after I sent a request for a quote, got someone out to give me a quote the same week, and I got insulation the week after. The actual insulation process was only a couple hours long and the contractors cleaned up the space well afterwards. They even came shortly after an ice storm!

Koala did a great job installing my crawl space and attic insulation. They cleared out all the old insulation and random debris, sealed all the gaps and holes that cold air and critters could get in, they even discovered a roof leak I wouldn’t have know about so I was able to get that fixed before they blew the new insulation in. So now my house is warm, dry and critter free thanks to Koala. Would definitely recommend them.
