Living on a Greenbelt has its perks, but over the past 20 years, our roof has taken a beating from pine needles, branches, and leaves. Every year, we've had to hire people to clean off the relentless moss and debris. When we built our home, we installed a 30-year roof, but after just 19 1/2 years, it was clear our roof was severely compromised. One more winter would have spelled disaster, just as it did for our neighbors.

As Timo and his team began removing the old roof, he took the time to explain why our previous roof didn’t last as long as it should have. First off, there was no real protection between the roof and the shingles—just a flimsy piece of plastic, which is unfortunately all too common. Additionally, the edges of our roof, where water drains into the gutters, lacked the essential metal flashing to protect the wood underneath. I wasn’t even aware that this was supposed to be there!

Here’s how TJ Roofing did things differently:

1. **Layered Protection**: They started with a layer of tar paper, followed by another water barrier. This ensures that the roof is well-protected from moisture.

2. **Metal Flashing**: On all the edges, they installed metal flashing that covers the outer edge leading to the gutters, a crucial step that was missing from our previous roof.

3. **Expert Craftsmanship**: The quality of their work extends beyond the roof itself. We had to replace all the wood around the perimeter of our two-story house, and TJ Roofing went the extra mile. They helped me paint all the new wood with high-quality paint for the eaves of the house before installation, saving us thousands of dollars in future painting costs and ensuring the wood is protected from the wet climate.

But the service didn’t stop there. TJ Roofing has a site foreman who oversees the project and is always available to address any concerns or answer questions. The site foreman was incredibly helpful and provided excellent customer service throughout the process. They even have a drone to capture and send you pictures of the ongoing work, so you can see exactly what’s happening on your roof.

And when it comes to cleanup? Impeccable. They removed an enormous amount of old shingles and wood, and not a single nail or piece of debris was left behind. They used a special tool with a huge magnet to ensure every nail was picked up, leaving our property spotless.

TJ Roofing LLC came to my rescue when the original roofing company (WRS) reneged on their warranty promise. Not only were they expert in flat TPO roofs, but they actually cared about the quality of their work. Ripping up 2 areas of leaks, they noticed that the entire roof had issues, and took lots of photos to show me what we were dealing with. They even volunteered to take videos and annotate them for me to give to my attorney. Since I was in no hurry, they took extra time (for no extra money) to replace all the damaged, wet plywood, to mound and insulate correctly this time so the rain would flow down into the downspouts as intended, and to make sure all the seams were correctly sealed. As a bonus, Temo installed a free skylight so there would be light in my garage! And when the job was complete, he even had his crew pressure wash the old flashings and paint them black to match the edges of the roof. I can't say enough good things about TJ Roofing. They simply want ALL their clients to be happy. They were prompt, tidy, respectful, patient with all my questions, very honest and finished when they said they would. HIGHLY recommended for ANY roofing projects.

Editing my previous review. TJ Roofing did my roof in summer 2022 correctly but my home's previous owners had foam sealed the stove vent and against code or best practice routed the bathroom fan to an outside soffit vent. TJ roofing came and fixed those issues in summer 2023 . This was not an issue with their original work - they were both not technically connected to the roof at the time it was replaced and I was not aware of the issues right away. I'm satisfied with the job that was done

I have used TJ Roofing for two jobs within the last few months. The first was to repair a damaged vent boot and clean moss, and the second was for a roof cleaning at my mother's house. Both times, they responded to my request for a bid promptly, their prices were competitive and their the work was done as advertised. The moss cleaning was done by hand to prolong the life of the roof and the clean up was thorough. I highly recommend their services.

After the job was done Temo did a walk around and took care of all the small problems. When they left the waste went with them. The way they operate they are a small large company.
