About the Business
What people say about “TJ Beam, Inc.”?
Customer feedback is mixed regarding TJ Beam's services. While many reviewers praise the company's communication, professionalism, and quality of work, there are significant complaints about poor communication and unmet promises. Positive reviews highlight the attentive service, particularly in assisting with insurance claims and providing thorough inspections. However, several negative reviews express frustration over delays and lack of responsiveness after initial payments. This ambivalence suggests that while many customers are satisfied, others have had frustrating experiences that impact the overall perception.

Excellent job all around. Tom was the only contractor out five contractors we received estimates from who worked with us to provide exactly what we wanted. He had a picture of our house and a program to show different looks of siding applications. After multiple designs, we picked the one we wanted. All the other contractors just sent us samples or web site links to see different styles, but Tom took the time to show us all the different styles.
I would recommend TJ Beam to anyone who wants a great roofing and siding contractor.
Fabulous company to work with. Darius kept me well informed with the process contacting the insurance company. He’s exceptionally good at what he does. He’s kind and thoughtful. TJ Beam has a fantastic crew. Thanks to everyone.
RUN FOR THE HILLS. (One star is generous.)
I’m a good-review kind of guy, and it genuinely pains me to write this. But after nearly 8 months of dealing with this company, I feel obligated to warn others.
Everything seemed great at first—professional, responsive, helpful—right up until they picked up the first check and cashed it. After that, just like so many of the negative reviews here, the red flags started to show. Communication fell off a cliff. Promises were made and broken. Every concern was met with, “Call the office, I’m on vacation.”
I’ve only dealt with Joe (not Dan), and I understand one or two bad apples shouldn’t define an entire company. But there has to be accountability somewhere—especially when I believe the owner is Joe’s brother?
As someone who works full-time in real estate—as an investor, property manager, and property owner—I’ve worked with dozens of contractors over the years. This has unfortunately been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The lack of preparation, miscommunication, and mishandling of unexpected issues has been mind-blowing. The roof was torn off without identifying or addressing significant problems (like rotted soffits) that any competent roofing team should have caught during the initial inspection.
On top of that, they had to come back multiple times just to get more interior roof photos—because they failed to account for yet another thing they should have caught upfront. This only dragged the project out further, since they had to submit an insurance claim adjustment. And while we were promised that this wouldn’t affect our insurance rates—sure enough, it did. Not a huge deal in itself, but it’s yet another example of how they’ll say anything to land the job, then fail to deliver.
Now we’re left mid-project, scrambling with no roof, rain in the forecast all week, and zero clear direction from Joe. His latest response? “I can’t help you, call the office.”
Hope their insurance is up to date—though based on how everything else has gone, I wouldn’t count on it.
I want to be able to update this review someday with a positive resolution. I want to say they made it right. But at this point, I have zero faith left.
If you’re considering hiring this company—please, do your homework. Read the negative reviews carefully. I wish I had.
Update: 6.17.25
We have an unfinished roofing project still. We were told they'd be returning to replace the window guards? When we asked about the gutters and downspouts we were promised, we were told the insurance didn't cover that. Then we were told instead of them fixing the window guards (arguably more expensive than gutters and more important) that they could instead just honor their original promise of the gutters. When we ask to keep things in writing, we're told they cant and prefer to have phone conversations (I wonder why..) Oh, and our insurance dropped us. Something we were told could and would not happen when they promised to take care of us. So now we don't have any insurance as well. Total nightmare.
