Where do I even begin? If 'disaster' was a roofing company, it would be this one. I hired them to replace my shingles, and it's been a nightmare from start to finish. First, they showed up two days late, no call, no explanation. Then, the crew was incredibly unprofessional – loud music, smoking on the job, and I swear I saw one of them take a nap in my backyard.

The quality of the work is appalling. Shingles are uneven, some are missing, and I've already found nails scattered all over my lawn. I've got a leak in my attic now, which I didn't have before. When I called to complain, they were incredibly rude and dismissive, blaming 'weather' (it was a sunny day). Avoid this company like the plague unless you want a leaky roof and a headache.

Re-Siding our house and putting a metal roof on it was a huge decision. We checked out different companies and chose Thunder Bay. Steven Friedman, President and Co-Founder of Thunder Bay, was extremely knowledgeable about the entire process. He appreciated it when we asked questions and encouraged them.
Our house was an old 1930’s Cape, in very tired condition. We wanted a “cottage” look and that’s what we got! It’s a brand new house!
Steven always got right back us immediately if we had a question or concern. He came to the work site often to check on the progress and make sure we were happy.
He has different work crews for different parts of the installations, (siding, roofing, metal roofs, etc.) who are experts installers in those particular areas. This made the project go seamlessly.
The final payment wasn’t due until Steven, my husband, and myself inspected all of the work and approved it. To check on the metal roof installation he sent up a drone and took pictures.
I recommend Thunder Bay whole heartedly. Their honesty, integrity, and open communication made this amazing transformation worry free. I still smile when I pull into our driveway!

I hired Thunder Bay Roofing to replace my roofing and siding after my house sustained storm damage and I could not be more pleased with the results. Many companies won’t work on insurance claims because it is so hard to get the insurance company to do the right thing. My insurance company was no different. They told me that they were not going to repair my siding and I could fix it myself. When I told this to Steve (from Thunder Bay), he explained that the reason the insurance company didn’t want to repair my siding is because there was no vapor barrier and the whole house/garage would have to be redone. My insurance company actually refused to communicate with me for a couple of months. Steve asked for my permission to take over dealing with my insurance company and though it took several trips to my house, several months and a whole lot of emails, I ended up getting new siding for the entire house!
Additionally, the insurance company refused to pay for the entire roof to be re-shingled and in many cases, wanted to just replace individual shingles on the house, it was going to look terrible, like patchwork. Ultimately, Steve was able to work out a price reduction with the shingle company to reduce the cost of the shingles and Thunder Bay even reduced their own profits to get my whole roof done! I feel like I have a brand new house. It looks so much better than it did before. I was able to pick different colors for the roof and the siding and it just looks awesome.
When they were able to start the work, the roof was done in 1 day and the siding was done in 4! I really appreciate the hard work of the crews during such cold weather, and I am so relieved that the house has been repaired. I would recommend Thunder Bay to anyone who needs roofing or siding. They really do go the extra mile to make sure things are handled quickly, correctly and professionally. The communication was very fast throughout. They really did care about my property and my family. I just can’t say enough good things about them!!!

Every part of the process for siding replacement with Thunder Bay exceeded our expectations and they are our new favorite contractor. Nick was responsive and gave us a thorough quote noting that everything would be done to manufacturer specifications, which gave us peace of mind. The team was professional, courteous, and did a great job. Nick did walkthroughs before and after the job to ensure the project manager understood our areas of concern and the job was completed to spec. When we found a couple minor items (like caulking around light fixtures), a tech handled it quickly and even tried to resolve issues with our (old and fragile) fence even though not entirely attributable to the siding install. We would recommend Thunder Bay to anyone!

I had Thunder Bay roofing complete my home renovation needs: carport roof, siding, gutters, suffet, and shutters.

I had other companies give me quotes and I would tell them my concerns about my carport roof and they would say there is nothing wrong and it’s in good condition. I knew there was a problem with it bc when it rained I would see bubbles as if there were pin holes on my carport roof and the water would seep down. There were also gnats that I could not get rid of flying under car port.

Steve was the only person who listened to my concerns and told me that I was right and the carport roof was not installed properly. Steve did not come to the house and give me a whole story about his company he got right to work taking measurements and within 24 hrs I had a quote for the whole project. When it was time to pick out my design I told him I could not meet till 4:30 when I got home from work and even though he was probably getting off work at that time he said “no problem” and made it work for me. Steve was very responsive, kept me up to date every step of the way. And during installation if I had any questions about the work that was done I took a picture and sent him a text about my concerns and he ensured me it was going to get taken care of. If you are thinking about getting work done and contemplating what company you should use, you are making a HUGE mistake if you don’t choose ThunderBay. The quality of work is remarkable.

Getting back to my concerns about the carport roof when the workers removed the roof the plywood was wet and rotted and needed to be replaced and now there are no more Gnats.

First ThunderBay Roofing responded quickly to our initial phone inquiry. Then the in person visit was just a few days later and within a week I had a new skylight in place . My room is so bright. The installers were so efficient and they noticed another issue with the flashing and they just repaired it . When cleaning up - not only did they take care of their mess but also the never ending fallout from our recent tornado. I would most definitely recommend them and hire them again myself!

This Company had great service. They came out when they said they were coming out. they were done in one day. Nick was my sales person. He did a great job. He came out, looked at the roof, gave me a price. He answered all my questions and the deal was made. It was that easy. No pushing to go with his company, no telling me if I don’t go with his company that day I can’t get that deal. No sitting there for an hour and a half waiting to hear what the price will finally be. If your time is precious to you like it is to me, this is definitely the company you wanna go with. The workers were very professional. Cleaned up everything around the yard. Covered up your plants to make sure no damage comes to them.
They asked for 1/3 of the money upfront. They did not ask for any other money until you were completely satisfied with the job.
I had a few minor things that needed to be fixed after the job was done. They came right out and fixed it. Wasn’t nothing big very minor stuff. They didn’t take the full payment until everything was to my satisfaction. Great company, I would highly recommend this Company.

Very great crew. Arrived promptly in the morning and had the roof torn off and replaced by end of day. They were very nice, cleaned up after themselves, and professional. I made sure to walk the yard for nails and trash afterwards and found nothing. Would recommend to anyone who needs anything from a small repair to a large job done.

Outstanding customer service. I could reach Nick (one of the owners) anytime I called. Promptly dispatched an awesome project manager who came out on a Saturday (ahead of schedule) for about two hours to assess what I needed. Price for an entirely new roof was definitely less than anticipated and based on the positive, professional experience I was comfortable to move ahead without shopping additional estimates. Work was scheduled for about two weeks later - the crew showed up around 7:15 in the morning and were pushing shingles off by 8:00. I returned home from work to a great looking roof and a driveway that was cleaned up immaculately.

Working with Steve and Thunder Bay was a pleasure. He came out and did a detailed assessment and more importantly spent a lot of time to make sure I understood every aspect of the repairs including pros and cons of each approach. Once we agreed on a plan, and his team showed up on time and completed the work quickly. A while back a strong wind storm blew down part of my roof. I found Thunder Bay on the internet and they did an awesome job fixing it. Since then, my ceiling leaked during a heavy rainstorm. They found the breach on the roof and fixed that section, matching the rest of the shingles. I wanted to re-side the house. The old asbestos was crumbling. Guess who did a great job? Here’s the end result. I highly recommend Thunder Bay. Their prices are reasonable and their crew does great work.

Our home owners took their time with payments but Nick and his crew delivered our supplies the day before the job was to be completed and they finished the job same day. Our entire roof had to be replaced and it was a huge mess. Their clean up job was absolutely superb. You could not even tell our entire roof was replaced. I absolutely love the different color patterns they offer for your roof. They also replaced our flat and gave us a whole new gutter system all the same day. The guys were amazing. I'm a project manager and have hired and worked with hundreds of contractors from a variety of trades over 25 years. I'm confident in my abilities to sort out the good ones from the not so good ones just because I've been doing it so long.
I needed to replace my roof after storm damage deemed it necessary and urgent. I contacted four roofing contractors and received cost estimates from each one. This is where Thunder Bay stood out from the rest. Their estimate was not the cheapest of the four. It wasn't the highest either. Thunder Bay stood out due to their professionalism. Their project manager Tom provided a detailed explanation of how the Owens Corning roofing products Thunder Bay uses work together to create a roofing system that prolongs the functional life of your roof. The estimate itself was professionally prepared and detailed. Everything was spelled out clearly. Other contractors sent me a PDF of a hand written estimate that was hard to read and din't have much on details. Thunder Bay's professional approach convinced me they were the right contractor to replace my roof. After signing the contract, a date was scheduled and the TB crew were there on time and started work immediately. They were done in less than 8 hrs including clean up. Their workmanship was excellent and clean. I did, however, notice a couple of areas that needed additional attention and Thunder Bay Co-Owner Nick, scheduled a subsequent service visit and personally ensured everything was addressed and resolved to my satisfaction. Thunder Bays professionalism stood out from the other three contractors but TB's integrity and dedication to their customer was a welcome surprise. We chose the new Desert Rose shingles and we love our new roof.

P.S. We also had Thunder Bay replace our gutters. And they're just perfect.

When I was ready to replace the roof and 3 skylights, I called 6 companies. When I contacted Thunder Bay, I immediately got a call back and set up an appointment. One of the owners came out to the house, used a drone and a satellite to measure the roof and look for damage. When I decided to go with Thunder Bay, employees brought out roofing materials about 3 business days later, and the roofers came out the next day, June 1. The roof and skylights were replaced that day, all old shingles and materials were removed, and the gentlemen used a magnet to clean up any stray nails. Today, 6/5, Steve came back out and examined the roof. He had already told me that he was going to take care of my roof just as if it were his mother's roof. There was just one tiny thing left to do, and it has been completed, as promised.

We all worry about the companies that take money and never show up, but with Thunder Bay, I felt really safe. I got calls and emails regularly updating me on what was happening. The company did what they told me they would. I am very happy with the price, quality of materials, and workmanship.

Whenever I see a business with five stars on Google, I always wonder if it’s too good to be true.

If you’re like me, and wondering the same thing about Thunder Bay, trust me, they have a five star rating for a reason, well many reasons.

Long story short, Steve was the first contractor (after five other ones) to ever find the actual issues with our roof, and the first one to question why our insurance hadn’t taken care of them. He fought a long and hard battle with us with our insurance company. I’m talking months of back and forth and never once gave up until they finally agreed to cover the damages that had been caused by a snow storm we had back in Jan 22. He spent hours of his time just to help us, which as a young couple with not much knowledge about this stuff, is so so appreciated. Steve is honest, fair, and an all around kind person, and I am so glad we went with his company to replace our roof and gutters. They both look amazing, I will add pictures once I get some good ones. My fiancé can’t stop staring at it, he loves admiring great looking work!

Our son will be here in a short 8 weeks and because of Steve and his company we can rest easy knowing that we won’t have to deal with this once he is here and that he will be covered with a brand new non-leaking roof.

Suffered some damage after a storm, where the fascia had been removed. I contacted Thunder Bay, Tom came out took a look at the fascia and some other potential issues. Provided three estimates for addressing the immediate issue to taking care of some upcoming potential issues.

Thunder Bay roofing was very professional and responsive. It only took one day to strip and replace my shingles, during that process they continued throughout the day to inspect the workmanship and the surrounding area for trash and debris. I would highly recommend them.

They were working on my neighbors house and when approached, a time was scheduled to speak with me about replacing my roof and gutters.
