I always do my diligence when hiring someone to work on my home, and this company seemed to have the most and best reviews. If you want an honest review of this company and why they got 2 stars, read on. I gave them a star because they did fix the roof (as far as I can tell), but the horrible customer service and complete lack of care around the project was appalling.
The repair job took 2 days to complete. During the work, they put a kind of makeshift cover over part of my pool, but the guys treated my backyard like it was a garbage can, throwing their soda and water bottles all over. I guess they thought that since they were able to throw the roof materials down, it didnt matter, but their garbage blew into my patio cove and gym area, and was left there for 2 days, so that was a bit upsetting. Whatever, Ill deal with it. Then they finished and left, and I had to message their office to see if the job was completed, because there was still garbage all over and in my pool there was also what looked like nails and things.
Also, according to the contract, they are supposed to clean up and haul away all materials. I guess that means to just leaf blow all of the dust and garbage out, because thats what they did. They used leaf blowers and blew all the garbage and dust IN to my cove patio/home gym area and covered all of my workout equipment in a layer of dirt and dust. They could have literally blown it ANYWHERE else. Also, they slopped hot tar and torched the skirting on the new roof and just left it there.
Heres the reason for 2 stars.. When I messaged the office, they went immediately on the defensive. They did sent a couple of guys over to clean the tar off and to pick up some trash, but then they ran the leaf blower through my gym AGAIN. When I complained, they abruptly told me their policy was not to clean any equipment or furniture etc.. But the equipment was clean BEFORE they came! No accountability. It would have taken them 10 minutes with a hose and a towel to clean up their mess and wipe down my gear, but they flat out refused.
Then over the next 2 days, there was a horrible chemical smell coming through the AC vents. It was so bad it was giving my girlfriend and I headaches and mild nausea. When I contacted them to ask about it, again they went completely defensive, saying that they have not used any chemicals except Mastic, and that they have never heard of any fumes nor have ever had any person make a complaint or inquiry about it since they started out in business. They were just gaslighting me and trying to make it sound like I was making things up, so I looked up mastic and saw that it does indeed have noxious fumes and cause headaches and nausea, so I sent the hazmat info over to their office for their reference.
Overall they had a really bad attitude. I felt like the job was bid, rushed, and then they did not care about taking care of their mess, nor did they care about retaining me as a future customer. Their responses back to me were not apologetic at all about their actions, their responses were always 'Im sorry you feel that way.'
I would definitely think twice about hiring this company despite the good reviews. Their attitude is awful.
Edit- Removed a star. On top of everything, they wanted to charge me 4% to use my credit card to pay. The bill was $8350.. This company is just ridiculous.
Edit 6/10- I sent them a check as of May 25th for the entire amount of the job before I left town on vacation. (I refused to pay nearly $400 for the convenience of using a credit card.) June 5th they sent me a letter of intent to put a lien on my house, so today I am sending them ANOTHER check for the full amount because I think someone in their office likes to play games. I am also taking this forward to the better business bureau and will be seeking court action if they do not resolve these matters.
