Modern Pros completed our home project with total professionalism and skill! Jon, their project manager, went above and beyond when it came to communicating and prioritizing even the smallest concern. That is something many contractors fail at and makes the difference between a stressful project versus a stress free one! In addition, the quality of their work was exemplary. The team was respectful in our home and gave attention to details. I would most definitely choose Modern Pros again!

I am writing to commend Modern Pros for the outstanding job they did on my recent roofing project. From start to finish, their team was PROMPT, professional, efficient, and highly skilled. The quality of workmanship exceeded my expectations, and the project was completed on time and within budget.

Their attention to detail, clear communication, and commitment to excellence truly set them apart. I would not hesitate to recommend Modern Pros to anyone in need of roofing services.

We had Modern Pros out in November to do a full tear off and replacement on our roof.

My wife and I moved into our house in Garden City last August and knew from our inspection that there was a spongy valley with water intrusion coming through the decking in an area where the previous owners had built an addition onto the house.

When we first met with Modern Pros, we were impressed by their sales reps. They suggested we reconfigure our attic ventilation and install a bathroom vent also. They also provided us a discount for removing our gutter guards prior to their team coming out which was cool.

The day of the replacement, those guys worked sun up until sun down, but when they were cleaning up at the end of the day I asked about the bathroom vent install and he had no note of it on his work order. That said, with the little sunlight left in the day Sergi hopped up into our attic and ran the venting for our bathroom.

A few days after installation I hopped up on our roof to check things out.
I noticed that the faulty valley that caused us to replace our roof in the first place was no less spongy than it was prior and I also found another area that i didnt recall being spongy previously.

I climbed into our attic to find the same old water damaged decking in our highest priority valley, with ice covering numerous nails on said decking board.
I proceeded to call Modern Pros and set up a time for one of their guys to come back out to evaluate.

They didnt show up at the appointment time they scheduled for so I had to call their office and they scrambled someone over to meet with me.

When we hopped on the roof, their service tech inspected the areas that I was concerned about. He never definitively admitted to the sponginess being an issue and made the comment about the decking likely “looking acceptable” when they tore off the shingles.
My main question: how might one not see water damage from the shingle side of the decking if I can visibly see water damage on the decking when looking from inside my attic?

I asked him what he would’ve done if he was came across that area while re-shingling and his response was “i probably would if i was repairing it as a homeowner”

Long story short, he is informed us that no decking was replaced whatsoever.
Additionally, there was no discount on our invoice for the gutter guards I removed myself— it took 3 days and a rude “this has already been discussed” tone by their office manager, until they realized they forgot to adjust for that in our final invoice.

Overall, the price Modern Pros provided us with a very competitive quote and we wanted to support a local small business. I’m not trying to tarnish their reputation, just sharing and documenting our experience. They have a lot of positive reviews on google and seem to have a lot of satisfied customs, but we felt a bit slighted by their instillation

Modern Pros did my roof, siding and gutters. The salesman Alan was a true pro, and the field crews did a great job, cleaned up everything everyday before they left and kept me updated as the job went on. If you need any work done I highly recommend the Modern Pros.

I am so thankful that we chose The Modern Pros company to do our Front Porch Rebuild and Vinyl Siding project. It is hard to find a reputable contractor these days and a contractor you can trust; but we found it in Modern Pros.

Modern Pros did an outstanding job on our project in every way; such as the quality of work. The Project manager, James kept me updated on the progression of the project in an outstanding manner as promised, and follow through on what he said he would do.

Todd, the salesman, presented us with a professional package at the beginning including their renewed license and their insurance paper work showing us it was not expired. Todd gave us excellent ideas and options to what we could do for our rebuild project that was a great benefit and fair, which no other contractor had done.

These qualities in a contractor are so important and needed in this industry when you are doing projects on one of your greatest asset, your home. Also, the owner Jesse, was reachable and helpful when he was available and needed.

The whole team were very nice and professional. Tom and all the workers kept their word and stuck to the schedule and commitment to do an outstanding job, and it was accomplished. My hubby and I are well pleased.

From start to finish the insulation project we had done was so smooth. There is zero pressure or up-selling. Their quote for the work was significantly lower than others and their staff from sales, to scheduling to the installers themselves were super friendly. I highly recommend Modern Pros.

Modern Pros did a great job of replacing my faux stucco panels with brown trim boards on my tudor looking colonial house. The replacement panels were Hardie boards which will last much longer. Eddy and his team were very hard working, polite, and took the time to do everything right. Overall an excellent experience - great job!

Modern Pro's was great from start to finish. No pressure sales with competitive pricing. We had insulation blown in and some siding repairs and both crews were friendly, professional and did great work. Very seamless and and low stress!

The summer of 2023 a neighbor's tree took out my patio awning. I received a couple of bids to put up a new one, but ultimately decided to extend my roofline instead. I am very happy I chose to go with The Modern Pros. They were definitely PROS from start to finish. No pressure from the sales team at all, and the Project Manager kept me posted every step of the way. The actual work crew worked very hard, and did a wonderful job. They cleaned up every day before they left as well. I am so happy with the final outcome, and would highly recommend them.

I recently hired Modern Pros to side my garage. Everyone I dealt with during the project were extremely nice and helpful. They go above and beyond to make sure the customer is informed and happy with the job. Great company to work with.

I called this company when I couldn't find anyone else to fix a active leak in our roof. They sent a salesman to try and sell us a new roof, when asked for a repairs we were told to caulk it ourselves when we have none of the tools, ladders, or experience to do it. Salesman avoided quoting a repair whenever asked for one and were told they might send a technician later in the day when we got our appointment in the morning before the next storm. When called to fild our why we got a salesman for an active leak, told "This is the process" selling people instead of trying to help them.

The front elevation of our house caved in. Modern pros did an excellent job of repairing and replacing. The workmanship was excellent. The cleanup was excellent, and the price was excellent. Jesse, the owner was very hands-on and very easy to work with. Would highly recommend this company.

We had to replace a commercial grade skylight on our house and couldn't find anyone wanting to tackle this project. From the second The Modern Pro's stepped on our property, we knew instantly we had the PRO's! The entire team including Jesse and James made this project painless. Exceptional service from start to finish! The team was professional, efficient, and meticulous in their work. They provided a clear estimate, answered all my questions, and completed the job on time. I just wanted to thank Jon Lepo and the team at Modern Pros. They did an excellent job with the gutters on my parents house and garage. My father is an elderly war veteran with PTSD and not the easiest to deal with but they treated him with dignity and respect. I'm getting older myself and time constricted. 1/7/24 I was given a quote for 5”gutters all around, except for the front of the house which should have been a 6” gutter (by both Todd and Oz’s recommendation at different points in time) due to shingle overhang. I paid for services in full prior to scheduling an appointment. When the contract was signed, I was hurried along without a chance to review it. So imagine the surprise when they had installed 5” gutters all around. Furthermore, the trouble spots from before the gutter replacement were still just as bad after. The front of the house, to the side of the front door and corner of the garage all leaked excessively causing swamping both before and after replacement.

4/1/24 The replacement was completed.

4/6/24 I had brought this to Jon Lepo’s (service manager?) Attention via email. Oz returned to my house to make repairs. He then took pictures of the front gutter being mostly obstructed by shingle overhang confirming what Todd told me at the quote. Oz even sent a picture to his supervisor. He made repairs and now the garage gutter is draining properly.

5/1-5/2 2024 emailing with Jon about the continued drainage issues, he is now informing me they will not be repairing any further since my roof “is in severe need of replacement, or at the very least some extensive repairs. You have shingle damage in several areas, granule loss in almost all areas”. Why would they initially say my roof had 8-10 years of life left (implying it’s just fine as it is) BEFORE they got my money, now after the job is completed, it’s my roof’s bad condition causing the problems AFTER they’ve gotten my money? They are refusing to fix the errors they made and all I want is to receive the 6” gutter in front that they had verbally promised which is looking doubtful.

Very professional, responsive, and affordable. We had them quote to replace our skylight and they uncovered a bigger issue with our chimney. We were so afraid it was going to be a major investment to fix and were shocked how reasonable the quote was.

The original builder grade gutters and skylights in our house were sub-par. Jesse at Modern pros reviewed the issues we had, replaced the junk with quality product, did it ahead of schedule and walked us through the entire process ahead of time to set expectations clearly (which was exceeded by far). We had a leak in one of our bedrooms in condo. After that was taken care of Modern Pros came in to do drywall, patchwork, new carpet and painting of the whole bedroom!! All the work done was great and went smoothly! The guys that did all the work even moved furniture and stuff off walls for us to complete whole room! The salesman from Modern was at my house twice, both times I specifically asked if the workers would need to be inside the house to add insulation to the walls on my addition. His response was no. Jesse and his team are simply amazing! We have had many projects completed by the Modern Pros, from siding and water damage repair, to an entire second story finished, including a bathroom, kitchen, a living room and utility room. The work was impecable, with incredible attention to detail. Everyone on the team was extremely professional, kind, and friendly and we were basically treated like family throughout the project. Jesse went above and beyond helping us resolve issues with suppliers even when they were not his responsibility. They always beat the prices of any other contractor we’ve had give us a bid. Update 11/08/23 I have some problems with the bay window that was put in first the window was not sealed properly, the inner window sweats in the double pane, and the second problem open the window for some fresh air, the window did not lock properly, so I called the company, and made appointment, and James said someone would be out today, And guess what the person did not show up or called, just awful, and a lier, so glad I did not get the rest of my windows done, this is not a good company to do business with. They don't care about their customers at all shame on you Better business is next.

From start to finish everything was very professional. Felt we got the best bang for the buck. Would recommend them to anyone. Huge improvement in our roof.

Called Modern Pros for an evaluation and cost estimate to insulate the attic in my home. The sales manager, Alan Isaacson arrived on time. Al took some pictures of the attic on his cell phone and showed them to me. Then he said "In all honesty, you really don't need any more insulation in your attic - its' just fine." I thanked him. We discussed other options and he suggested that I contact DTE or Consumers Energy for a free assessment. My thanks again to Al and Modern Pros for their honesty and integrity in this matter, and plan to recommend the Company for any future needs. Tom G

Modern Pros replaced a couple of gutters on our homethat were damaged. The day they came out to replace them the installer pointed out the color was not an exact match and they could bring out a closer color if I wanted. Most places would have just installed the color they brought but they were honest about the mistake and we were very happy with the end result. Looks wonderful!! Their price was several hundred below 3 other quotes I received.

Had some repair work done on my trim work. All the employees were wonderful and professional. Will definitely use them again for any future work!

Save yourself the headache! We found Modern Pros through their seemingly great google reviews and hired them to do some work on the exterior of our home (paint, siding, accents, etc). We had nothing but problems from the very beginning, false information, terrible communication, poor workmanship, the list goes on. The salesman came out, we told him what we wanted done, he made recommendations and wrote up an order - absolutely nothing from that original order went as planned. We ordered shutters and after signing a contract and putting down a deposit they came back and said the size we needed would cost double what they actually wrote in the contract - so we removed that part of the project. We ordered vinyl light mount boxes for our porch lights - they came to install them and said it couldn’t be done because we have aluminum siding and we had to settle for something less than we ordered. We ordered specific decorative vinyl window mantels to replace existing wooden mantels, we came home after they installed and it was the completely wrong product. They installed composite material instead of vinyl, they were not the design we ordered and they even left part of the old mantels on them. Not to mention the workmanship was awful and my husband and I could have done it better ourselves. We also hired them to paint wood trim on the front of our house in which we specified we wanted a white satin finish paint, they came to do that project and ended up using a flat finish and they missed several spots. The icing on the cake was when they kept putting us off to come redo the paint job and eventually we decided to cut our losses and said forget it - don’t come back. The ONLY positive thing I can say is that when problems came up they were receptive to feedback and attempted to find a solution, but it became very clear with all the delays that our business was not valued. Again, do yourself a favor and keep looking.

Scott came to fix the siding on my garage! Oh my goodness! I can't believe how beautiful my garage looks now. Fast, talented, personable, and my garage is repaired. If you need help, call this company. You will be glad you did. Modern pros!!!!

The material used and the job done was fine, they didn’t pay as much attention to detail as I would have but it looks nice. However, 3 months later and I am still picking up nails so be careful, not sure if the flat tire I got was due to them or a nail I picked up elsewhere, and cigarette butts were everywhere, not very professional.

Had siding repaired. Everyone was very helpful and professional. The installer did a great job. He was very friendly and answered all my questions.

We used Modern Xterior Improvement (aka The Modern Pros) to handle several of our exterior home improvements (vinyl siding, shutters & gutters). They were very professional, reasonably priced and on schedule. We had a different company install a new roof and shingles to eliminate a water issue in our garage before we used Modern Xterior. Needless to say, our garage ceiling still had water issues. Jesse (the owner) and several of his top guys came out to investigate. They were able to determine the cause and fix this headache we had for several years. They are the BEST!!!

From start to finish was very pleasant to work with. Schedule around my time and throughout the process kept me informed up to date. I did about five quotes they were one of the two most reasonable ones and I'm very happy with the results. I had them do a full roof installation and gutter install

We had new siding, and gutters installed on our house in April 2022. Additionally, they removed the bathroom window, which was in the middle of the shower, and framed it out in order for me to tile over it on the inside, and for them to put siding over it on the outside. Every interaction we had with the company was positive. From the salesman, to the office staff, to the installers every interaction was positive.

After contracting with them, I had several phone conversations with them about color changes that my wife wanted, and they were always willing to accommodate us, and make the requested changes. There was a slight misunderstanding about the bathroom window on the day they showed up to begin the job but a phone call to the office quickly resolved the issue, and things progressed as planned.

The workers were polite, and they treated our property with care & respect. Once the job was complete, they walked the perimeter of our house and garage with magnets to pick up loose pieces of metal, and any other debris that was laying around. Overall, their cleanup was on point.

We've received a number of compliments from our neighbors on the work that was completed, and one of our neighbors contracted with Modern Xterior/The Modern Pros as a result of the work they did on our house. It's now been a year since the work was completed, and everything is holding together nicely, and still looks great!

As a woman with contractors being in my home is hard to deal with but these guys not only went out of their way to make things beyond perfect they also made me feel very comfortable having them in my home. Nothing but good things to say about the Modern Pros. The process from beginning to end was great. Upon the day of the job, their team showed up and rocked it out in a timely manner. They addressed some issues we were aware of, and discovered some along the way, and handled it. Very thankful for that. When done and gone, there was no sign of them being here, other then the fact that we had a new roof. Excellent clean up. Modern Pros is very professional. We called about some rot in the wood trim on the exterior of our newly purchased home. Todd came out and gave us a quote. Other companies wouldn’t even help us because the job was too small. Lucky us though because as Christian was replacing a board on the back side of our house he noticed that we had extensive damage to the boards under the siding. Water was pouring down under the siding rotting it because the builder didn’t construct things properly and neglected to use a vapor barrier. Because of Christian’s amazing work ethic he explained to me what happened and what needed to be done. So he called Todd, who was on vacation, to get him to come and give me a quote ASAP because the side of the house was exposed and it was supposed to storm the next day. Todd graciously came out that day! The work they did was excellent! They have a customer for life!

Not Happy
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE DISHONEST AND UNETHICAL. DO NOT GIVE A DOWN PAYMENT. I DID, $2,000 AND I CANCELLED AND THEY WOULD NOT GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY. WHAT DID THEY DO? I RECEIVED A QUOTE. THEY COULDN'T GIVE ME A DATE THE WORK WOULD BE COMPLETED, SOMETIME IN 3 -4 WEEKS. THEY SAID THEY CAME OUT FOR A SECOND MEASURING BUT NEVER CALLED TO TELL ME WHEN THEY WOULD BE COMING. HOW DO I EVEN KNOW THEY CAME. THE REASON THEY COULDN'T GIVE BACK MY DEPOSIT WAS BECAUSE THEY PURCHASED THE NECESSARY SUPPLIES, BUT COULDN'T DO THE WORK FOR 4 WEEKS.

This is an update to the review below. The crew sent out to do the roof on my cousin's house was professional on time and did outstanding work. This was roof and gutter work and a repair of the chimney that they noticed during the inspection that we had not noticed. They took care of all of the problems at a reasonable cost and in a reasonable amount of time. Once again thanks guys.
The crew Jesse sent out was here on time every day. They installed new siding and trim on the house. They put new trim on the barn to match the house. They were very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. The workmanship is wonderful.
This is the second job we have had done by them. I will go to them for any future work that we need.

The men who did the siding were very pleasant people. They were cooperative with each other and with me. They work as a team and each one knows his job perfectly. The house looks so pretty now. The price was very steep but I do not regret it seeing the finished work. They gave me 3/4" insulation and the Tyvek-like coating and then the siding and trim around windows and doors and the soffits, all matching so perfectly. I recommend them highly.
When they sent their painting crew, they were 3 amazing gentlemen. When they were through, they put the room back together in a meticulous manner. They treated my possessions as if they were their own. The supervisor came before and after the work was done . First for me to pick the exact color I wanted and at the end, to verify that the work was done correctly.
