The Landscape Design Center

We were struggling to maintain our nearly half-acre property, which was full of native plants that the previous owner had planted without any clear plan. The Landscape Design Center came in and did a phenomenal job cleaning up almost the entire property. They removed the messy flower beds but carefully preserved some of the native plants, relocating them to areas where they now look much more attractive. They also pruned and tidied up other areas, including removing two trees, leaving the yard looking refreshed and beautifully maintained.

Ana, the owner, was incredibly friendly and responsive throughout the entire process. She spent time with us to explain the details of the work and answered all our questions. We felt reassured knowing we were in good hands, and it was such a relief to have this huge task taken off our plate. We couldn’t be more satisfied with the work and would absolutely recommend the Landscape Design Center to anyone looking for quality landscaping services. We’ll definitely work with them again!

Ana and the Landscape Design Center absolutely killed it!!! Very accommodating and great to work with from the initial consultation, through design, and all the way to the completion of the project. Incredible job! They completely transformed our backyard. Our backyard had a ton of gravel, a steep slope, poison ivy, plants ill-suited to the space, etc. We are so happy to now have a beautiful backyard and patio. Since the landscaping project last November, we have already made wonderful memories in our backyard and are planning our flowerbeds in our new garden space! We are so grateful for the Landscape Design Center.

I can't say enough about how wonderful it has been to work with Andrea and her team. We had a blank canvas to start and as an indecisive person her expertise and willingness to show samples and design ideas was incredibly helpful.
We are also in a critical area, and she took care of all the county requirements and lead us through the process. She was extremely considerate and conscious of the budget as if it were her own. The team worked very quickly and there weren't any unexpected issues during the project.

I can't thank Ana and her team enough for the incredible job that they did in fixing our landscaping project. They had an incredibly difficult task of fixing the mistakes of a previous contractor, helping us with permitting and pulling off making our yard a dream come true rather than a nightmare that it had become. Ana was so kind, patient, helpful and stayed on top of everything related to permitting for us. My only regret is that I didn't find Ana and the Landscape Design Center sooner. We would have saved a lot of time, money and aggravation if we had gone with them to begin with. Learn from our mistake and go with Landscape Design Center.

I was hoping they would be better than our last landscaping company that didn’t listen, especially for the price. They were worse because of the price and they still didn’t listen. I could of had our old landscaping company do the job for almost half of the $15,000 they charged us. They weren’t going to do some of the work that was in the contract. We had to remind them. Then, we found out that they still didn’t do some things in the contract. Our second most important thing was to trim/remove bushes and trees, but they only trimmed 3 of about 15 bushes. They didn’t put preen down like they said they would.
Their communication was very poor once they got some of our money.
They put a dumpster blocking access to our car garage for 4 1/2 days because they did not put it in the place that we had talked about putting it. They didn’t care.
They made up excuses for charging us more because they didn’t know how to calculate how much it was going to take to do the job. Their excuse was, the weeds have grown a lot since they came to look at the property and gave us a quote. Any landscaping company should know that weeds will continue to grow over time and that you should calculate that in your quote. It’s not like we waited to except the quote and made them wait to do the job. We did our part and accepted the quote after a few clarification questions and allowed them to come do the job as quickly as they were able to. We asked them to do one extra thing and they found 3 extra things to do. $3000 to level 2 pavers in the walkway, take down and remove one very large broken tree limb, remove weeds from a hill, and remove weeds from a very small enclosed fence area.
Finally, they did not finish removing the weeds from a different very large hill. I don’t understand how a landscaping company can remove weeds from a hill, only partially and leave the rest of the hill looking terrible. We had to make them come out and finish the hill. Photo below.

From start to finish we had an amazing experience with Landscape Design Center. Ana was super easy to work with, and really understood what we were looking for. Her crew was always on time, super efficient, and very professional. Our yard was full of extensive gardens from the previous owner, that were full of weeds and severely overgrown because we simply couldn't keep up with them. Ana was able to create a design that minimizes our maintenance, fits our family's needs, and looks great. The team was even able to re-plant many of the plants from the gardens to preserve them. We are so happy with the result, and will definitely be working with them again for future projects.

We are thrilled with the vision that Ana and her incredible crew brought to our property makeover. Our backyard went from unkempt and unwelcoming to a peaceful, inviting oasis with thoughtfully designed patio areas and beautiful gardens. They also freshened up the beds in the front and sides of our house. We are getting so many compliments!

Ana and her team did a fabulous job turning our side yard into a fire pit/patio/garden. The job was done quickly and high quality, the best combo. Her team continued work on just our project until it was completed. Great work landscape design center!

Where do I begin? The Landscape Design Center transformed by backyard. It went from being a wild, untouched space to a beautiful, functional part of our home. I received quotes from a few companies and while TLDC was not the cheapest, they were the most detailed, precise, and responsive. I decided to move forward with TLDC over some of the cheaper options for the confidence and peace of mind as well as quality of work. This was my largest and most expensive project to date and I had MANY questions that Ana patiently fielded left and right. She worked around my schedule and came back with options within my budget. Ana's crew was also extremely professional and nice.

I highly recommend this company and will certainly be calling them again if I do another outdoor project of their caliber.Thank you so much Ana and team for bringing my dream backyard to life!

I couldn't have been more pleased with The Landscape Design Center! We have a townhouse so we were in need of 2 small projects. I talked to a few companies but no one made me feel more at ease than Ana. She met with me at the house and took her time talking with me about what kinds of things we can do. Well her ideas were amazing. We just finished our second round with them and everything is perfect! The workers were timely and professional. If you have landscaping to do this is the company to call!

From start to finish The Landscape Design Center was great to deal with.
Our front landscaping was overgrown and past its life cycle. Ana consulted with us and came up with a plan which we desperately needed. She was very easy to work with and communicated throughout the process. The end result was fantastic. We are very pleased with the new landscaping and lighting. They also cleaned up the back landscaping where it will be more manageable until we are able to budget for the full project. They are not the cheapest company out there but quality, professionalism and knowledge comes at a price. Looking forward to future projects with them.

We had a great experience with The Landscape Design Center. Ours was a large residential project that included significant hardscaping – a retaining wall, a drainage management system, and a new, large patio area. Andrea provided a complete design plan that incorporated all of our wishes and dealt with the several challenges that our particular yard presented. The work was performed over the winter months and finished in time for new plantings to go in by early spring. We found Andrea and her team easy to work with, responsive to adjusting the details of the project as it progressed, and responsive to our comments and questions during the entire process. When we decided to add a water feature after the project was underway, they worked with us to incorporate it into the design and did a great job of implementing it. An example of their attention to quality arose when we found that one palette of pavers, apparently from a different manufacturing batch, were of a slightly different tint than most of the others. The team randomly mixed these in with the other pavers, which entailed moving many pavers that had already been installed. This was additional unplanned labor for which we were not charged and the resulting patio is beautiful; the difference in tint of some pavers is not even noticeable. We are very pleased with the quality of work, enjoyed the positive experience of working with The Landscape Design Center team, and the finished project is magnificent.

Ana and her team are so easy to work with. We had a terrible drainage / erosion problem in our backyard and she came up with a design that solved the problem and that looks beautiful. Now if only I could get my dogs to stop trampling the plants!

We needed to re-route surface water away from our house (and adjoining properties) to the street and Landscape Design did a fantastic job for a fair price. The job involved regrading our drive and ground near the house, and installing new underground pipes to redirect and move water from our gutters to the street. In addition LDC put down new gravel and refreshed the landscaping. The landscaping is handsome and has improved the look of our property. More importantly our basement is dry for the first time ever, even in heavy rain. Highly recommend.

Ana was a great resource turning our vague ideas into a great design. Melvin and his team did great work and were courteous and professional. Communication, follow-up, and finishing touches were awesome. We'll definitely recommend them and use them again!

I couldn’t be more pleased with a project or a contractor than I am with Ana and Landscape Design Center. From start to finish, Ana and her dedicated team had a shared vision, communicated actively with me, and more than hit it out of the park with what they produced. From stone work to artistically thought out plantings, they created a beautiful park in my own yard! Each day I come home I see the improvements and smile a happy smile. Honestly, when they left I was sad because each day they were there it was like someone was taking care of me and my home. I will only use Ana and her business for my hard scape and landscape in the future. Absolutely fabulous.

We used the Landscape Design Center to design our yard. After a major home remodel, we needed to focus on the outside. Ana created an amazing design working with us every step of the way to create a design that was perfect for how we wanted to use the space. She took the time to get to know us and understand our likes and needs. I'll admit, I'm very particular so it is rare for me to find people who care about the little details like I do. When it came time to make it all happen, Mauricio and his guys were incredible. Mauricio is a true artist who knows his craft like no other. His attention to detail is truly rare to find. I can't say enough good things about the entire experience. I know when we need anything else who we'll be calling.

Landscape Design Center has done several projects for me over the past three years. They have done a beautiful, high-quality job with everything, ranging from brick walks to landscape design and installation to outdoor lighting. Ana is a delight to work with!

This is my go-to landscaping contractor in Annapolis. The process - from concept to estimating to execution - is seamless and moves apace. Our most recent project involved a mix of a new stacked-stone wall, bed prep, installation of privacy evergreens, relocation of some existing shrubbery, and repair of 30 year old hardscaping in the back yard. All were done expertly. Melvin, lead stonemason, is an artist and has much pride in his work. The evergreens selected for installation were first rate. You could probably find a cheaper contractor in town but you'll never get better value than Landscape Design. We loved working with Ana on our project and are very proud of the results.

The folks at The Landscape Design Center are professional, prompt, and know their stuff. We have always had a drainage problem in our backyard that made parts of it swampy and unusable. The design team put in additional drainage pipes from the house downspouts and sump pump drain and routed them all to a dry well that took care of the problem. The finished patio, rock path, and landscaping transformed the yard into a usable and lovely space. They did a great job!

My husband and I enjoyed working with the team at Landscape Design Center. We interviewed 2 other companies and found the Landscape Design Center the most responsive and creative of the three companies. Ana understood my unique aesthetic and designed a warm, inviting comfortable space that EVERYONE enjoys. Her entire team was prompt, professional and helpful. Ana suggested landscaping ideas that resulted in using less hardscaping materials and thereby reducing costs. I unconditionally recommend the Landscape Design Center for any outdoor projects you have.

We used the Landscape Design Center for both our front yard and back yard. The front yard work was ripping out everything and putting in a beautiful sitting area and cobbling the yard, it went so well we hired them a few years later to completely do the backyard.
The backyard was all gravel and they turned it into a gorgeous space that looks like the yard of an expensive Italian villa. In addition they put up a wall between the yard and our parking area.
It is now 10 years since they did the backyard and longer since they did the front. Not one stone has moved, nothing has cracked, the seating walls are all still perfect. It looks the same as the day they finished it except the plants are now larger. Really really solid excellent work. Their prices were also more reasonable than most of the estimates we got, but their work, in my opinion is better than any of the larger companies would have done at a higher price.

We had an in-ground pool installed over the winter and contracted with Ana at Landscape Design Center to restore both our front and back yards from being the construction sites that they were. This included extending our existing brick patio down to the new pool deck, adding underground drainage pipes from the patio, creating swales to accommodate yard runoff, planting bushes and plants and installing and an irrigation system and sod in both our back and front yards. Ana and her crews were very easy to work with. They left the job site cleaned up each day, which we really appreciated. Their work ethics were second to none. To sum it up, they did a fabulous job and we would gladly recommend them to anyone wanting to have any type of landscaping or the above mentioned work done. We have gotten many compliments on our yards from our neighbors.

Our walkway and front decorative stone border looks great! They tended to my needs while I was on night shift. The work and quality is fantastic! Highly recommended!

Fantastic company! This was the third time we used Landscape Design Center. Ana and her crew are consistently, incredibly professional. They treated our home with care and respect; the crew even watched out for the neighbor's cats who frequent our yard. When we ran into a problem with another contractor, Ana helped us find a replacement. When I discussed budge with Ana, she listened to me and came up with ideas that kept us on budget while still getting the job done. The care and quality of their work is remarkable. I plan to use them again for a few more projects I have in mind.

The Landscape Design Center put in a french drain in a swampy area of our yard. My wife and I are very happy with how it turned out. Not only is our yard not a wet mushy mess any more, but they put down new sod and seed to cover where they installed the drain. Everything looks great and functions well. It's been a big improvement.

They also got rid of the hot tub that we weren't using any more. Even better, they were able to find a new home for it so it didn't just end up in a landfill.

While they weren't cheap, they did do a great job and were diligent about cleaning up each day. As always, you get what you pay for. One thing to keep in mind is that they do have a minimum, so if you just have a small job that you want done (<$5K), you'll probably want to go with someone else. If we have any other big landscaping projects in the future, they'll be the first company we call.

We recently contracted with the Landscape Design Center to completely re-do all of the landscaping at our home. Everyone within the company was courteous, responsive and professional. The end result far exceeded our vision.

It was evident from our first contact with the Landscape Design Center that they were more interested in what we wanted and within our budget versus making a sale or up-selling the job. We ended up asking for several options to compare and really took our time in deciding… they complied without pressure nor question.

The vision, professionalism and commitment for doing the job right will bring us back to the Landscape Design Center. Even three months later we are still getting compliments from our neighbors.
