Unbelievably helpful, professional and knowledgeable. The owner (David) spent a good two hours patiently and leisurely going over options. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase anything. This was the first (and only) store I’ve been to. I’d planned to shop around, but am so impressed with this establishment, that I don’t feel I need to look anywhere else. It’s really refreshing to deal with a business with such exemplary customer service. Thank you!

I met the Rentfrows, new owners of The Firebird, at the 2022 home show in Santa Fe. The Alpha pizza oven drew me into their display. I liked the attitude of the new owners, asked many questions, and collected brochures. I was armed with what I needed to dream and plan of a new outdoor kitchen.

Early in 2023 I visited The Firebird to start my investigation into an outdoor kitchen. Sage Rentfrow was very helpful showing me their lines of pizza ovens, grills, and cabinetry. The planning stage began, Sage being patient with me, quoting my many revisions of kitchen design. I finally decided on the configuration and ordered.

Delivery day finally arrived, hoping all would go smoothly. The delivery crew arrived on a Thursday on time. The two men were friendly, kind, and very respectful. They moved all components to the back and started assembly. Unfortunately, they discovered that the cabinet top was manufactured incorrectly. I was disappointed but was assured there would be a speedy resolution.

It was my responsibility to convert the Alpha pizza oven from propane to natural gas. Another unfortunate discovery was that the conversion kit was for a different Alpha pizza oven model. I wrote an email to Sage describing the issue. By end of day Monday, Sage informed me that the cabinet top was re-manufactured and shipped with expedited shipping. The correct natural gas conversion kit would also arrive the next day.

Tuesday I was informed that the new top and conversion kit arrived. Wednesday the top and conversion kit were delivered and cabinets assembled. The cabinet top and incorrect conversion kit were unfortunate. Fortunately, The Firebird team worked with their vendors to provide the correct cabinet top, conversion kit, and assembled the cabinetry. All within a week!

About a week later I fired up the new grill but it didn’t perform as expected. Sage connected me to the manufacturer to try to resolve. Sage convinced the vendor to send a replacement grill. The Firebird team delivered the new grill which performs as expected.

The Five Star rating I give is because The Firebird team made my kitchen planning fun. The delivery team was experienced and a pleasure to work with. They speedily resolved the issues that were beyond their control. I like to buy local when I can and would definitely buy from Firebird again because they did everything, they could to make me a happy customer.

In July I began the process of having our out dated gas fireplace upgraded. Because of a city ordinance, glass doors are now required. Said doors were ordered at a cost of $2000 and were to be installed December 1st. When the installer opened the box, there were no glass doors. Only the template used to measure doors was there. I called Firebird and never received a call back to explain what happens now. Another 4 months of waiting? So much for customer service.

Need a grill or parts for one? Need drip irrigation or its parts? Here. Friendly folks, quality stuff. Our go-to for many years.

Hugely happy with the Firebird as I transitioned from a wood-burning fireplace with a gas assist to a fully gas fireplace. The process with The Firebird was very easy and methodical starting with selection of artificial logs, to new bi-fold doors, to installation of the gas lines which include a remote control to start the flow of gas without having to deal with a pilot. Excellent workmanship at each level (including sub-contractors) and new fireplace looks and works fabulously. After a false start (which was expensive for their opinion) with a different fireplace and chimney company locally in Santa Fe, switching to The Firebird was seamless and way more affordable. Keep up thee great work.

For starters, Aaron who does the installations is awesome! This review is not related to the fireplace installation, this is all about the store itself. Long story short, they were very disorganized, placing the order took a lot of back and forth, the delivery was scheduled multiple times and cancelled, and they were missing parts when they delivered. All of this added unnecessary months to the process. Their communication and organization is very poor. But they sell quality products, they are nice, and the installation team is great so that is why they still get 3 stars.

Avoid the other guys across the street who are not knowledgeable and also owned by American Leak Detectors which is another shady business.

What a pleasure!!! The new owner, David, and his son, Sage are the most customer service oriented, friendly, professional and accommodating people we've dealt with in a very long time! We're well into our 70s and have dealt with innumerable businesses and people over the decades. It's a treat to find folks who run their business the way everyone should. Customer care seems to have become a forgotten "art" but not at The Firebird. We recommend them highly!

We ordered, and paid for, a Napoleon Grill from a big box store on April 17th and we were told it would be delivered in a week. Every week we were given a different story. The last was that was because it was ordered and paid for in the store, and not on line, it would not be included in the shipment Napoleon received from China in early June.
We canceled our order and called The Firebird on June 3rd. Kelly found us the grill in Phoenix and had it shipped to their store in Santa Fe in 3 days. It was assembled and delivered to our house by David on June 11th.
Everyone we dealt with at The Firebird was knowledgeable and professional and most importantly, honest.

This store is a good source for fireplaces and parts. Also drip irrigation is well stocked. A bit pricey unfortunately.

Bought my insert wood stove here few years back. They have some nice modern wood stoves. They also deal with outdoor water control systems. Very helpful and knowledge staff.

Mark was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. I was purchasing sprinkler parts but will definitely be back for a quality grill when the time is right.

Exceedingly friendly, helpful and informative. Buy local and reap the benefits! Great assistance with drip irrigation system design, setup and maintenance. Bring in a drawing of your yard and they will suggest a zone, line and emitter layout for you, no charge!

I've been buying my irrigation supplies for my business at Firebird since they opened in the old store. Everyone is most helpful and pleasant, but the real advantages are the level of knowledge of their employees and the quality of what they sell. Thank you for all you do to assist your customers.

GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE TODAY I WAS THE ONLY CUSTOMER IN THE STORE IT WAS LATE AFTERNOON. THE FELLO THERE EXPLAINED WHY NO WATER WAS COMING THROUGH THE IRRIGATION. HAVE TO DIG 4 FEET DOWN TO TURN ON THE VALVE. HOPE THAT WORKS TOMORROW THANK YOU...

We are disappointed and actually quite frustrated. We bought a Regency insert from Firebird. Their original customer service was fine, but then we had serious problems with the stove for months. It was smoking and letting off an awful smell that wouldn't go away. One time a huge amount of smelly smoke filled our whole house. They did come over to check it. We asked them to contact the company and get us some compensation for months of having open windows in the winter and for the ordeal we had to endure. So far they have not replied (it has been over a month)to that reasonable request and that is upsetting to us. They don't even reply to our emails.

Best place for professional level irrigation supplies. After price shopping all over and online for smaller dia stuff, best prices for 20' 2 and 3" PVC and 3/4" poly when you want large quantities. Staff knows exactly where every fitting is too if you can't find it right away.

Phil, the repair tech at Firebird, replaced the thermocoupler on our 14 yr old direct vent propane fireplace but discovered a gas leak in the process. He returned at 9 am the following day with a helper in case the stove needed to be disconnected. Leak was fixed at no charge and the stove has NEVER worked as well as it does now. I have rarely had such reliable, expert and friendly service! It was impossible to find anyone else who could repair this type of heater, even in Albuquerque. Unfortunately Firebird still does not have an installation tech for the stoves they sell, but in the future, I would pay for a service call from Phil just to be sure it was done correctly because ours was not!

We are new to the area and glad to find The Firebird!
Their selection is great and installation was quick, despite our living 2-hours north and buying a wood burning stove during what is probably the busiest time of year. The staff was helpful and the quality of our new stove is more than I could have imagined.
We will definitely be back.
