That 1 Painter received positive reviews from Angi's List network, which was the initial filter I used to find painting contractors. I contacted 5 different companies about new exterior paint on my home. That 1 Painter distinguished themselves during the preliminary process and bidding. The company owner Pete Johnson was very responsive, honest, and professional at every step of the process. His crew was exceptional with their work, and my home appears brand new. I will definitely use them again, and will refer them to my neighbors, family, and friends.

That 1 Painter had a very competitive quote for a workshop/studio painting job. We opted to go with them due to their excellent reviews, good communication, and knowledge. And we are glad we did. That 1 Painter did an excellent job, the whole studio looks stunning. The benefit of using this company is that they will get the job right. We asked for some minor touch ups and they had it done fast. They even fixed two things that were not their fault, at no additional cost. That’s excellent service. And they have a warranty on craftsmanship. So if anything goes wrong later - I doubt it will - I feel good knowing they will be out to fix it within a day or so. It’s nice to get that level of service, and it’s quite rare. Highly recommend.

I had a ceiling leaked that required cutting a hole to repair. I called That 1 Painter and within 48 hours they had repaired the drywall and repainted my ceiling. I can recommend That 1 Painter for their fast response and attention to detail.

Pete was easy to interact with and he honored the original price agreement on a bid that turned out to be too low for part of the project. Best of all the exceptional craftsman, Sorin Bute, who completed the delicate refinishing project, was a true perfectionist, but at the same time responsive to every specific request I made. Overall I strongly recommend Pete, Sorin, and That-1-Painter for jobs like the one I described.

Felt like a true bait and switch - I do not recommend. Received my quote for work after requesting walls to be painted, no trim/baseboard/ceilings. Just the walls. Walls needed little to no repair. Provided square footage and images of the entire home. Paid the deposit, which ended up being a greater percentage than indicated on the quote. Painters arrived and started working. I’m later told, after work commenced, that it’s more work than anticipated and need to pay more, since the quote was for “interior walls” and didn't actually include kitchen/ bathroom/bedroom walls. I’m not sure about your home, but in my home these rooms have walls…
Was asked to pay about 60% more since “it would be a couple day job and required more paint than my quote had shown”. I’m sorry, but a misjudgment of the effort and material required is not the customer’s fault and the consequence of a poorly estimated job should not be put on the customer. The sign of true customer service is owning your own mistakes. I negotiated the additional payment down a bit and paid it since I wanted the work that had already begun to be finished. The job was finished same day. So much for it being a “several day job”. Not impressed. Will not be using again. Do not recommend.

We used Pete’s team and they did a fabulous job. They arrived on time, were very professional and did a wonderful job. I loved the finished rooms. Phoenix and team were super!

We had numerous pipes burst from a furnace failure in an unoccupied building. Lots of drywall had to come out. They made it look as if nothing happened. Would use again and recommended.

Edit. Initially when I did my walkthrough I was impressed. As time went on I discovered that his team really rushed their clean-up. They didn't dispose of their trash despite charging a disposal fee, left 18 staples in my walls from the protective covering, and didn't clean the softening agent they used to scrape the ceilings from the primary or secondary bedroom where their protection clearly leaked. We reached out to Pete to get this resolved and were ghosted. Given that we are trying to move the clean up now falls to us I guess.

I stand by that they were quick and effective but will have to weigh the value.

We had Pete and his crew paint our metal fence. His crew finished the job in less than a day an a half. They hand painted the fence due to our pond and the fish in it. Pete's crew worked diligently and did a very nice job. Do not hesitate to use Pete
