Marc came the same day I called him to temporarily seal my leaking skylight to prevent further water damage. His caulking job held up for several more rain storms. He demonstrated the various issues with the way my skylights had been originally installed, spent considerable effort tracking down the correct shingles for my roof, and re-installed the flashing and elegantly reshingled the relevant area around the skylight. The repaired skylight has now survived a couple of rainy days with no further leaks. He communicated clearly throughout, and was up front about the cost of the replacement, with no surprise charges. What more could you want from a contractor? I would highly recommend him.

Mark is the one person business. To the best of my knowledge, he did the right kind of work to repair my roof. He responded within a day or so; I think his price ($300) was fair, for a problem around a leaky vent). He is quite an interesting talker, and I am retired, so I spent quite a bit of time with him, in the attic, and on the roof. I appreciate that he is experienced and knowledgeable. I interacted with other roofers, and some (Bulldog Roofing) wanted to sell me much more than I needed! One caveat, he said he would come to my house at a specified time, and came later. He did this more than once. He ended up finishing as the sun set.

After the wind storm in December I called 1st Response, Marc came to our house and assessed the damage quickly. He also found that the chimney and a small EPDM roof needed sealing. He did the work in a time frame that worked well for us and the quality of his work was extraordinary. An added bonus is that he's easy to get along with and I enjoyed his presence. Top notch craftsman.

I can't say enough good things about 1st Response Roofing. They replaced my roof after a gnarly hail storm wrecked it. They gave an estimate that was in line with what other roofers were offering, and they went out of their way to fully explain what they were doing and why. My roof is complicated by the fact that the original builder didn't always put the rafters on 16 inch centers. But 1st Reponse worked around that, and delivered a very nice looking roof. There's a lot of fly by night outfits in the roofing business, I'm happy to have found a company that takes pride in its work.

One year later there was a water puddle in the kitchen. Suspecting it might have come from the roof, I called Marc. He diagnosed the leak to a plumbing problem. He was gracious enough not even charge me for it.

Marc, owner of 1st Response Roofing, SUCCEEDED in our roof repair where others (local independent, local roofing company, and two manufacturer reps) failed to identify and completely resolve our roofing problem. When contacted, Marc promptly scheduled a consult, was personable and professional. He was very conscientious and determined to get to the cause of what was thought to be one water leak, but turned out to be from two different locations. Marc worked long hours and was meticulous in his work. He was familiar with various roofing materials and installations and was not deterred by our dual roofing system. I have had a leak from my top floor bathroom fan for the last year and thanks to 1st Response it is finally fixed. The roofer that attempted the fix before was not able to fix the problem and became unresponsive to our requests to come back and fix it again.Marc was very responsive to my call and came out the next day. He took a look at the area around the bathroom vent and offered to remove shingles in that area to find the cause of the leak and repair it while also replacing the vent cover with the proper one. He charged a very reasonable price since we had spent more with the previous company that did not even fix the problem. Marc also pointed out the many issues with workmanship of the previous roofers work.Marc came out two days later to do the work. He showed me issues with the shingles removed and proceeded to show me the better materials that he uses. I will not let anyone else but Marc on my roof again. His workmanship and ethics are way above others in his field.

Quite simply the best experience I have had with anyone related to the construction / roofing industry in a long, long, time. Honest, forthright, ethical, hardworking, knowledgeable, and passionate about their work. Marc came to fix a leaky roof, which he did with outstanding service and attentional to detail, but also pointed out a gutter issue in the front and rear of home, which we also had him fix. Needless to say, all the work was done on time and within budget, but here's the greatest part, Marc actually took the time to explain the causes for the failures and correctly hung the gutters that the installers had hung incorrectly. Not only that, he repaired and rehung the fascia boards that were damaged as a result of the improperly hung gutters and poor craftsmanship of the installers who resided our home several years ago. In a day in age when quality and pride in craftsmanship have all but disappeared from the landscape, it's nice to know 1st Response is out there doing what they do and doing it well. When the time comes for new roof, 1st Response is the first and only call we'll make.
