Taylor exteriors completed our roof in October 2023 and when spring came along with rain it leaked extensively. They came back three times to “fix” it and the leaking was reduced but not resolved. They then became non responsive and refused to complete the repairs. We now have extensive damage inside our home and water is still leaking within our walls. I will add I do have an internal gutter that is filled with shingle debree from when they tore off the old shingles which is contributing to the issue. Not leaves as they indicated in their response

Taylor Exteriors completed a number of exterior projects on our family's home including a new asphalt shingle roof, new lp smartside siding, trim, fascia, and soffits, new seamless gutters, replaced concrete for our garage, driveway, and sidewalks, and poured a new concrete patio.

There are exposed nail penerations in the roof allowing water to leak into the roof.

The transition between the roof and siding between garage and house is not flashed properly and water leaks in, all the way down, and out of the bottom of our walls when it rains. Picture below.

There are a number of unpainted exposed nails in the siding that violate the manufacturers installation requiments for their warranty.

There were multiple holes in our gutters and drip edge that will allow water to run behind them and cause premature damage and rot.

In one stretch of gutter, 5 of 9 gutter hangers present were not attached to the fascia at all.

Pictured below is an approximate 2 inch gap in the gutters filled with a large amount of sealant. The sealant says it should only be used on up to 1/4 inch gaps.

Cracked boards were present in the siding.

Rafter vents were not installed properly in the attic space. They should be stapled to the underside of the roof sheathing inbetween the rafters to ensure adequate ventillation between the soffit and attic. They were littered across the insulation broken, sideways, and upside down with none attached to the sheathing between the soffit and attic spaces resulting in poor roof ventilation and eventual moisture buildup and premature decay.

Then there were some small instances of cost cutting that felt odd for the price of the work. The garage door weather stripping broke during removal and they wanted to reinstall it. I replaced it with new weather stripping myself.

They also tried to reuse the old damaged and discolored bathroom and dryer vent caps and outlet covers.

Sam and Jamie were great to work with for our roof and gutters. His crew was very professional and courteous, answering any questions we had through the process. They also assessed other repairs we needed and completed them through the process.

These guys went above and beyond with their work. Had trouble getting one company to show and these guys stepped up and showed up in a timely manner. The crew did the work correctly and found issues that would have costed more and bigger issues down the road and fixed them correctly. The clean up was amazing, not a mess left behind or debris to clean up after the job was done. Highly recommended and will use them for future projects.

We compared all of the major brands for a roof replacement and after extensive independent research selected Malarkey. As part of the search, we were also wanting a manufacturer certified installer which led us to Taylor Exteriors, a Malarkey Emerald Premium contractor. From the initial bid to the finished project, the service with Taylor Exeriors was outstanding! In addition, we got a superior product (class 4 rated) and warranty!

Trent is so knowledgeable!! He explained improvements that needed to be made with quality products. It was so nice to find options for materials to replace the cheap stuff the builder threw on. Ask for Trent if your looking to replace your roof!!!

We replaced our roof, siding, gutters and deck. Destiny and Andy were great to work with. They were the only contractors that came back with good, practical suggestions for us. This made our decisions easy. The crew was friendly and hard working. You can tell they take pride in their work. We had some delays on our deck but Destiny worked through them. We are very happy with the results and will recommend Taylor Exteriors to others.

Had roof, siding, windows, gutters and downspouts replaced. Had a few bumps in the road along the way. In the end they made sure everything was right and completed to our satisfaction.

Both Desiree and Andy were very easy to work with and professional, Just a couple weeks after our hail storm we had a new roof and siding installed. I work construction myself just in a different field but through the process they listened to my needs as the homeowner and came through with exactly what I wanting. I recommended them to my neighbors that also had damage and will recommend them in the future.

Taylor Exteriors has done multiple jobs for me. Each and every time they were there when they stated and were extremely professional. The quality of work was fantastic. I will use them in the future when needed.

Sam and Destiny were really easy to work with. They were prompt, did what they said they were going to do and the workmanship is well above average. A lot of homes in my neighborhood have had roofs replaced recently and it's quite noticeable how much better the quality is on mine. I will use Taylor Exteriors for anything I need in the future. Take your business literally anywhere else. We called for an estimate on a small in our roof over a month ago. A technician came out and took a look at the leak, gave us the estimate, which we approved, and they never showed up to fix it. Then, on Saturday 10/22 someone from the office showed up at our door with some story about how they haven’t been out but they were “on their way to fix it right now”. We waited at home for 3 hours and no one showed up. Today my husband called and spoke to someone named Mary who was incredibly rude and defensive on the phone, as if the situation was somehow our fault. This business deserves zero stars, but unfortunately I’m forced to give you one.

I contacted Sam the owner. He came over and took a look at what I needed. He had his crews over and they were great. They were in and out in a few days. I had multiple project that I was having done. Plus he saved me money compared to other contractorI had bid on the projects. I plan on having Taylor’s Exterior work on other project I’d like to get done in the future.

Called to have someone give us a quote on replacing a section of gutter on our home that was damaged when a branch struck it in a storm. Spoke with Mary initially and she was very helpful coordinating the appointment and agreed they would arrive between 11-noon.

The day of the appointment arrived and a gentleman named Kai I believe he said called to say he was on site. I met him out front and showed him the damaged section. He asked if that was all we were needing and I told him yes, just the section and possibly replacing one panel of siding (which we have a piece of) that had been damaged as well. I asked several specific questions about the gutters and was told that he didn’t know much about gutters and would have to check and get back to us?! Note, it was made it very clear when I spoke to Mary to set the appointment what we needed to have done, so was a bit confused when he told us that he didn’t know much about gutters. He asked again if we needed to have the roof looked at or anything else. When he was told no he said ok and started to leave. When asked about the estimate and if it would be emailed, he said yes, said goodbye and departed.

It has now been exactly a week with no contact and no estimate.

EDIT - See response below from owner. Received an email the day after this posted with the estimate, no other contact. No emails, no voice messages, so not sure how they attempted to contact. Estimate was just a number, no breakdown of the work to be performed and did not include secondary job of replacing a piece of damaged siding as well that was discussed. Also got lots of excuses about salesman having stomach flu and not knowing who was responsible for getting the estimate. Not sure where the disconnect came in here as I was more than clear about what I wanted accomplished. Seems to me they dropped the ball and wanted to make excuses for it.

Replaced large set of windows, and they look perfect. Also caught and fixed a problem from a prior contractor. Trent ordered the a set of windows that perfectly matched my other windows and Andy installed them in just a day. Andy left the jobsite clean and free of any mess. Great Job.
