I am not one to write reviews, or make complaints. However, the construction crews that they hire are reckless and damaged many of my personal items. Tatley-Grund was unwilling to compensate for my ruined personal property. I was asking for the bare minimum in compensation for my valuable items, and they were unwilling to reimburse me. They also are not efficient with their resources, and took way more time than they planned to finish my patio. In fact, it is still not complete. They've left it in unsafe conditions with no communicated plan to restore steps from my patio to the newly demolished ground. Would not recommend this construction company.

Our HOA hired Tatley Grund to do both internal & external repairs on our condominium at 511 West Mercer Place. We have been extremely pleased with all their work. During this extensive project, the residential owners who have had to have Tatley Grund repair their individual units have also been very satisfied with their professionalism. Our HOA Board found that their crew, supervised by Brandon Keller & Bill Desrosier, to be friendly, neat, approachable & totally professional. They have been prompt, communicative, responsive to all of our concerns & respectful of our building & each owner’s unit. We all appreciate the high quality of the work they have done, & would not hesitate to hire them in the future.

Despite assurance that their company was A-one and, because they were a smaller company compared to our other bids, we would get much better treatment than from a larger company, not true. There never seemed to be enough of a crew for the size of the job and time estimated so the job ran over by several months. Most of the crew working on the job seemed very inexperienced without, what looked like proper supervision, so some pretty significant mistakes were made that had to be redone. Thus, no real quality control. The job site was always a mess and many areas were not properly protected from the dirt and grit of the work leaving the living areas of the condominium complex exposed to unnecessary damage and clean up. The project manager talked a good talk but did not deliver, seemed to shoot from the hip and did not seem to oversee his crew or their work. Quality of finished work substandard in many areas. I could not recommend this company from the experience I have had with them.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
