What can I say about Tartan Builders?

They’re excellent. They did a neighbor’s roof and it looked fantastic.. when it came time to do my own, due to hail damage and time, I gave them a call.

We got Ayden as our rep, and he happens to be the general manager. This guy is so impressive, he's knowledgeable, patient, and he knows the ins and outs of the roofing business like clockwork; he worked with the insurance as well and handled all of that. I didn’t have to really do much.

He guided us through the entire process, not to mentioned taught us a ton more about roofing than we would have known anyway… and after getting bids from other companies, we went with Tartan not cus they gave us the best deal, but cus we had the best feeling.

His crew of guys who do the roofing and put it all together are fantastic, they’re patient when you ask questions if you happen to be home and have any concerns.. Ayden is there on site watching the action and making sure everything is to a T as it was agreed on the work order.

I’ve already referred them to three others on the block, including my folks, and they have great bonuses as well for referrals.

Just a super experience all around, we’re more than pleased.

I had an unpleasant experience with someone from Tartan Builders who showed up at my door unannounced. He was a blonde man who acted like he was in charge of the company, though it didn’t seem like that was actually the case. He kept pushing for an inspection even after I clearly said I wasn’t interested. When I declined again, he became noticeably rude and dismissive. The whole interaction felt pushy and unprofessional. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t feel comfortable working with this company. I don’t appreciate being pressured at my own home, especially by someone representing a business.

I can not say enough great things about this company and the young man that stepped up and helped our family of 7 after we had a tragic fire !!! He saw a post that I made on fb and he immediately responded and came and and spent his own money and his personal labor to make sure that the hole in our roof where the firemen had to cut was fixed THE RIGHT WAY. Our children lost everything in this fire and we are financially stagnant right now, so this company was God sent! He was so professional and kind. He could have used the materials I had here and it would have got the job done.. but it wasn’t to his standards and he wanted to do it right for my kids and I , so he went and purchased the materials himself and did it the right way! He’s very knowledgeable in what he does and I just really hope that anyone who sees this will support their local business and go w this company before anyone else!!!! There are still great people out there! Let’s all help them out!!!! IK I will def be calling them for any future work that might be done! And I hope that anyone seeing this review does the same!! The photo looks simple but he was up there in the Indiana heat for a couple hours doing decking and all the things necessary!!!!

Our roof replacement process was seamless with Aiden Dillon and the Tartan Team handling the insurance claim, installation and the final follow up. The Installation Crew was also professional and thoroughly completed the clean up process. Great experience with a great Company.

After hail damage we chose Tartan Builders to handle the roof inspection and roof replacement. Jesse was very thorough, honest and professional. He communicated with our insurance company and we were provided with specific details of the shingle type. The installation was very organized and the clean up outstanding.

We were so pleased with the job Tartan did for us. Not only do we now have a beautiful roof, but Tartan handled everything from beginning to end with our insurance company. They fought for us to get a full roof replacement. It took them a couple of months due to push back from our insurance company. However, the knowledge they have regarding policy, code, roofing and insurance, truly helped us. They completed our roof in one day and the COO, Lewis, was on site to supervise the job. We couldn’t be happier.

Tartan Builders recently replaced our roof, skylights, and gutters/downspouts. They also did wood repairs as needed. I am very pleased with the process and the end result. This is the second time I have had to go through a roof replacement and this experience was far superior than I had previously. Ayden was our contact person and representative for the company. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and easy to contact and communicate with. He was essential in making this happen by working with our insurance company to assure full coverage for the work. He was very helpful in explaining the process and options that we had. The crew worked hard to complete the roof as scheduled in a very long day. Ayden supervised the project and keep us informed as to the progress and a few unexpected issues which were resolved promptly.

The roof, skylights, and gutters look awesome and will insure the home’s value going forward. In addition, we have high quality materials with warranties and a 25-year labor warranty from Tartan which is transferable.

Tartan Builders, Inc. is a singular example of an exceptional business. Their sales rep, Aaron, was personable, patient, professional and knowledgeable as he talked to me about the free inspection, about showing me the pictures he took atop my roof, showing me accumulated storm damage, and facilitating the process of filing and dealing with my insurance company. Aaron’s communication skills were consistently impressive. Every one of my questions or concerns were not only fully answered and addressed, but done so in a prompt and polite manner. On the day of the installation of the new roof, the workers began by tarping all areas around my home, taking great care to protect my landscaping, deck, and furniture. The team arrived before 7 a.m. and worked carefully and determinedly until the roof was installed and a complete and thorough cleanup of the grounds had been done. Aaron returned the following day to do a walk-around inspection for any wayward nails or other trash that the roofers might have missed. He checked with me about my satisfaction with the process and the outcome. I was most pleased to be able to tell him that I could not have been happier. Putting on a new roof is a big deal financially for a homeowner, and choosing a responsible company is a big decision. I got very lucky with Tartan Builders. I can’t recommend them highly enough!!

Replaced an old 3 tab storm damaged roof system with the highest quality dimension shingles in the industry. New gutters and downspouts too. The house pops now. Tartan builders put on a new roof on my house one month ago. Lewis and Tony came out and worked with us to keep the cost within our budget. The workers had the job complete in one day. Through what I am absolutely certain was God’s grace, Dominic Mapes (accompanied by Drake Carman) knocked on the front door of my home a couple of months ago. Representing Tartan Builders, Inc., a company that was unknown to me at the time, they asked for permission to inspect my roof for any previous storm damage. And just like that, their findings resulted in the very professional & trouble-free filing of a claim for a complete “roof replacement” with my Homeowner’s Insurance Provider that was very quickly approved… much to my surprise and complete amazement.

*Within just a short period afterwards, I am honored and extremely excited to share with everyone just how quickly and phenomenally well done the entire process was initiated, coordinated with the Adjuster of my Insurance Provider, personally by Dominic, right on through to project completion (in less than 2 days, I would add)… without a single hiccup. Afterwards, a Tartan representative even came out to personally review the roof work, cleanup and our satisfaction as customers. The “cleanup” process was so well executed, in fact, that several of my neighbors even reached out to acknowledge their own individual satisfaction as onlookers. As a result, Tartan’s product selection portfolio and performance excellence further enabled my spouse and me to upgrade, enhance and beautify our home far beyond expectation. And even a week after job completion, I am pleased to note the “continued” follow up by Dominic to assure our absolute satisfaction overall. What a blessing this totally unexpected experience has been…. The Tartan Organization is clearly made up of highly skilled, professional and compassionate personnel.

Due to a very serious injury experienced just about a week after having been approached for this project, I had to be and remain confined to a wheelchair; and because of a bit of a conflict with the roof repair process and a previously arranged critical doctor’s visit on the same day (with discarded roofing debris completely strewn around the perimeter of the house at the planned time for my departure) my wife and I had no idea how to achieve “safe” egress from the house, down the driveway and into our car which had to be parked @ the street earlier in preparation. We were both literally shocked at the response of the Crew; three (3) members stopped working and cleared a passageway while one of them safely lifted me, while still in the wheelchair, and rolled me down to the street curb and even helped me into the car. Wow!!!

I had a very pleasant roof work done by this company (Tartan Builders). I tendered a roof replacement request to my insurance company and after all the inspection and reviews, my request was declined by the insurance company. Carter, the Tartan builders roof associate had worked on a neighbor’s roof and had visually seen some damage on mine from across the street and came knocking on my door. I told him my request was declined twice and and that I was told to repair the roof the first time with my deductible but he insisted he could get the insurance company to replace it considering it was in a really bad shape. I reluctantly agreed and he started work.
Amazingly, within 3 weeks, my roof replacement was approved. I really was surprised how he was able to turn things around. He not only got approval for the roof to be replaced but also got me funds for my solar panels on the roof to be removed and replaced after the roof was done.
Carter was so pleasant to work with, called and texted frequently to give me updates and was true to his words. He fulfilled his promises and always showed up when he promised to and if he couldn’t make the appointment, he always called to let me know he wouldn’t be able to make it, rescheduled but always apologized for that too. It got to a point that I felt he was too polite and very sincere. I liked working with him and wish I had him for all my other projects. I have been very pleased with Tartan builders and with Carter in particular.i

Joe McQuade from Tartan Roofs was our hero! We had damage to our roof from storms in spring 2024 that our insurance refused to cover. Joe fought with them for months to get us the most possible coverage and then provided us a great price so our out of pocket costs were limited. Fighting with insurance is a pain, but having a roofer who is on your side and willing to talk to claims agents, send, and resend pictures is so valuable. Highly recommend!
