We are very happy with our spray foam installation. The house feels great. An old musty draft in one of my kitchen cabinets has gone away. My attic is less than 5 degrees hotter than my house right now. The temperature reading I’m sharing is from the highest point of my attic ceiling and it’s 85 degrees outside and 11 AM.

IRA and the crew were easy to deal with. There is great personal service with IRA checking in frequently. The insulation removal team and installers were also very nice. I’m so happy I pulled the trigger!

We are two weeks into our 8 week project with Sunlight Contractors and so far we are quite impressed. Ira and his team are on site every day, on time and working hard all day. They have a complete step by step plan and provide us with daily photos and updates. They are running ahead of schedule. A couple of years ago Sunlight Contractors cleaned out my attic and then put spray foam insulation on the rafters of my roof. Since then my utility bills have steadily decreased. And on the hottest days my air conditioner will kick off periodically, whereas previously it would run all day till 10 at night. Same as for the coldest winter days my heater would also catch a break. surely getting the spray foam insulation has extended the life of my heating and air conditioning systems. well worth the cost!

I had my first floor close cell spray foamed about 2 years ago and just got to doing my second story. They come in fast and get right to work. I plan on having vaulted ceilings and they needed to have the rafters clean for sheet rock install but the sprayer got over zealous and there was a great deal of over spray. This caused a few extra days of work scrapping but it was all sorted out in the end. Clayton, the foreman, was outstanding and a solid guy. He busted his butt getting things done properly and requested that I ok the work before they leave. The thing about spray foam is that it is a 2 part chemical that reacts upon agitation and mixing meaning that it is a chemistry which requires knowledge. If this mixture is not done correctly and/or sprayed on too rapidly, improper curing can ruin a home so pick a licensed spray foam contractor which is is why I chose to go with these guys twice and have also referred neighbors.

Mr. Ira was extremely knowledgeable, professional and made the initially terrifying problem of our hardwood floors buckling seem much less scary. We were losing sleep for months about this problem! We fell in love with a house that miserably failed inspection due to numerous humidity, mold, and hvac insufficiencies. In looking for solutions and ways to resolve these issues for good and clean up all the existing mold and insulation problems, thankfully we found Ira and Sunlight Contractors. Sunlight Contractors delivered exceptional service on a detailed project for our home, showcasing their professionalism, expertise, and attention to detail. They handled every aspect seamlessly and exceeded our expectations.
The team began by addressing a significant mold issue, sanitizing all three HVAC systems, ductwork, supply and return lines, and applying an EPA-certified mold killer (Mold Stat Plus) throughout the attics and floors. Their thorough cleaning ensured our home was safe and mold-free.
As licensed HVAC contractors, they sanitized the A/C coils and installed Reme Halo air disinfectant systems in all three units to improve indoor air quality. They also educated us on how to maintain these systems by replacing MERV-13 filters regularly.
Next, they upgraded our attic insulation by installing approximately 8,000 sq. ft. of SucraSeal Class A fire-rated open-cell spray foam, bringing it up to R-38 and fully encapsulated rafters, top plates, eaves, and soffits for a flawless monolithic seal.
To regulate humidity, Sunlight installed two Santa Fe 155-pint standalone dehumidification systems with MERV-13 filters. We also installed a 10” roof jack to supply fresh air into the dehumidification units. This keeps attic humidity in the 40% range and ensures healthy optimal air quality throughout our home.
The team also addressed structural and ventilation needs by stabilizing a cypress beam in the kitchen and extending the kitchen hood ventilation, 30 feet up through the attic and installed a waterproof 8” roof jack for proper ventilation.
We were especially impressed by their credentials and certifications, which include being licensed residential, commercial, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mold remediation contractors with the Louisiana State Licensing Board of Contractors.
