Sun King has a really professional crew. They show up when they say and they work quickly and are very professional in completing the job. They set up my solar pool heater system with appropriate programs so that all I've had to do is enjoy my warm pool. Both thumbs up for a job well done

If you are looking for a the cheapest bid and you don't care about anything else, this is not the company for you. They charge a few dollars more but their work is excellent. For example, the right angles on copper tubing around the water tank were exact. They had good advice to improve layout of panels and spent time lining up the panel attachments to ceiling joists. There was a noise coming from a pressure part, they came right back to fix the issue. They handled paper work with building inspectors and sent me paperwork for tax credits. The previous company, I worked with, 2 installations, did none of that.

Sun King did an amazing job, they are there for all our questions even though the job is done, they did the upfront research to get the product that we needed, they picked up the ball when the previous company dropped it, We highly recommend them!

Initial installation of solar hot water heater, 3 panel system in 1998 on Maui. Have had routine maintenance every few years just to check the system. No real issues up until had to replace one panel after 15+ years. Excellent staff of people, office and guys who have come to my home. Always responsive to calls. Always arrive when they say. Always thorough with plenty of aloha. Very pleased with quality of equipment and set-up, going back 20+ years. I'm sure everything even better now. Quality of people has stayed the same. High quality. Trustworthy.

I would have loved to have Sun King up grade my solar. Problem was on me. Didn't have the budget at that time. All interaction was very professional and friendly.

I recently had Chris the electrician come up to replace the fancy digital (and broken) solar hot water timer with a mechanical one. He is very professional and worked quickly and cleanly.

Excellent solar company to work with, employees are very friendly and respectful. They put our solar water heater in over 10 years ago. Till today never had any problem. So when it was time to do our PV system my parent said to call Paul at SunKing. One reason is they been around in the solar industry for many years. My parents had other estimates from other PV companys. They felt so confortable with talking with Paul again that they decided to go with them. They did a great job installing my solar water heater. The warranty is great and the customer service is great. It’s been over 10 years since we had it installed and we had to replace a couple of panels after that but the new ones is good for another 10 years. Other than that we’ve not had any problems. If you are thinking about investing into a solar hot water system, Sun King is the way to go. We bought an older house (1961) with a Solarhart hot water system on the roof that needed to be updated. It had certainly done its job, lasting 18+ yrs, it was time to upgrade. After a little research, and calling several companies here on Maui, we chose Sun King to come and install a brand new Solarhart unit.

Teresa in the office was very knowledgeable and directed us with the perfect choice in models, and hooked us up with a program that enabled us to get an interest free loan on the purchase. We benefited from very low electric bills, easy payments, and hot water! In the past 5 yrs since we purchased, we have had no major issues, yet on one occasion, I had a small leak in some existing pipe that needed immediate attention. I called Sun King, and Paul came right out. I felt completely handled. Their customer service is great.

I wish that I could remember the name of the man who did all of the copper pipe installation.....the whole crew was awesome, they worked well and efficiently, but this mans skill for his profession was amazing. This plumbing is truly a work of art! The unit itself is on the roof, yet the control box and plumbing is in our laundry room, so I look at it often. Even after 5 yrs, it looks new, tidy, and really beautiful! It most certainly was NOT this gentleman’s first day!

Owning a home has its ups and downs for sure, and customer service can be a major pain. My experience with this company has been a very pleasant one. I had a single panel system installed. It was very successful and was done quickly and correctly. I did have a small problem with their control unit as it is ugly and is supposed to be a "surface mount". My other contractor just buried the box inside the wall, just allowing the outer surface to "peep out". I looks fine and works very well

Bought a solar water heater in 2013 from Sun King. They installed it timely & nicely and I haven't had a single problem with it.

I had a leakage problem from a solar panel pipe in the ceiling. I called Sun King who sent a crew right away to assess my problem. They identified the problem and fixed the leak asap. Paul and Fred were very professional, they explained everything in simple terms and very courteous.

Avoid this company! Tried to contact them for over 2 months to get service on work that they performed. No one responded. I had to replace the equipment of the cost of thousands with another company simply because they were unresponsive. Previously, the company took over a month to respond to a leak that I had in their work. In the meantime I again had to have another company come out and repair it.

We live in a very cloudy area, but in the year since we purchased our Sun King solar water heater, we have only had to turn on the back-up hot water heater two or three times. Even on mostly cloudy days we get plenty of hot water.

Professional installation and did reduce my utility costs. No service call back incurred at this time. Th company employees are friendly and courteous.

Paul & the sunking folks are fabulous- i've used sunking for the last 20 yrs starting with Solarhart 120gal solar hot water, then they put up 17 panels for my pool solar about 15 yrs ago and in 2012 they installed 32 PV solar panels. All work was perfect the 1st time- & followup servicing was also done right. I'd recommend then to anyone thinking of solar. Great folks.

Sun King has been my solar water heater and kitchen water purifier for over a dozen years now. I'm totally satisfied with their products and service department. I've just had my kitchen water filter cartridge service change today. Great service from the technician as he was part of my installation crew on my original solar water system over a decade ago. Last year, when I scheduled for my kitchen cartridge changed, I had him scheduled to service my water heater, draining. Previously one of my regular solar panels had a part module go out, when it serviced by my regular solar service company, they mentioned my solar panel was leaking. Being near the end of life for the solar panel for the heater, Sun King mentioned it would be cheaper to replace my solar water system than just the solar panel which had, as the tank or the other panel might eventually go out of warranty. It was a good deal to get a new system, which gave me new warranty of the solar water system. I asked my technician on the water filter, which he inspected and aside from the water filter change, new battery for the system, and he checked the tank for leakages or cracks, so it was something to periodically have the technicians checking on the equipment. As a home owner, it is good to have a reliable service technicians reviewing what they come for, to ensure that major problems are minimized. That's why for my solar water tank which is on the roof, Sun King beefed up the roof to ensure my roof has the capacity to handle the extra weight of water. The fact that Hawaii infrequently has hurricanes, it's a concern that with the hurricane protection clips and water header on my roof, it gives me a sense that a storm is less likely to blow off my roof on that section of the house. Plus, I've had them from before 2012, so I know the company and service won't be a business that will fold up easily.

SunKing has been my solar hot water heating system for more than 30 years. Heating water from the sun for free beats having to pay high electric bills. Service is excellent and family-owned. I am very happy with their expert service. Although Sun King does have other technologies to help save energy, the 2 panels installed survived Hurricane Iniki 25 yrs ago, we had no electricity but lots of HOT water. Thank you Sun King, you guys are the best!

The Sun King system is efficient and low maintenance. The company people are competent and courteous. I have 2 Sun King systems and both have served me well.

The people at Sun King are great and so are their solar panels. They installed a system for our swimming pool and hot tub over 12 years ago and the system still works great ... Our hot tub is always at 104 degrees and our pool is 6 degrees warmer all year long when we use the panels. These guys have saved us thousands of dollars in heating costs and the savings keep on coming. I can not recommend Sun King enough. Two thumbs up!
