We’ve used Storm Troopers before for our roof. They also did our neighbors roof and siding. Based on those experiences, we felt confident hiring them again for our own siding project.
While the siding itself was installed well, the rest of the job didn’t meet expectations. Part of the work included replacing all the wood on our front bay window with PVC, but instead, PVC was simply nailed over the existing wood. In other areas, wood was replaced with aluminum sheeting instead of PVC, which ended up with visible ripples due to poor installation.
When we brought up our concerns, the owner, Scott Drucker, initially said the ripples were just shadows, and later claimed the work was “standard.” Unfortunately, we didn’t feel our concerns were taken seriously, and we were told there was nothing else he could do to satisfy us.
We’re now hiring another contractor to address the issues. It’s disappointing, especially given our past positive experiences, and we had hoped for more consistency and professionalism in the follow-through.
Update: After 3 weeks, cracks are starting to appear. And nail holes that were supposed to be fixed (after 3 attempts) are still showing up. We don't expect perfection, but this is just sloppy workmanship. They may be good at roofs and siding, but carpenters they are not.
