Stoked Roofing and Restoration

*BEWARE if you have an insurance claim.
*PLEASE NOTE that we have been trying to get a resolution for the past 6 months, so we held back and have been more than patient. The Stokes have made no effort at all to amend this situation & added stress they’ve caused after the devastation of an F3 tornado.

Jeremy admitted he used to be an adjuster, which we thought would be a positive, but he takes full advantage of the situation.
After a tornado struck our downtown last March, I had so much hope when Jeremy told me the historic 1895 apartment could be saved.
Over a year later, Stoked still has not finished over $20,000 in repairs that they were already paid for in the last insurance disbursement. They were paid nearly $50K for the roof and all its components in April of last year (2024)…for months Jeremy said the roof cap was special order and he’d be replacing the damaged soffits as well, once the cap came in. Now 15 months later, we still just have a ‘temporary’ cap, which is merely cut up sheet metal, that keeps blowing off with any moderate wind.
They claim to specialize in roofing, but we have no warranty at all from them. The roof that was prior to the tornado still had about 14 years of the warranty left, but this company collected over $50K and I’ve been trying to communicate for months to get the warranty, the roof cap & soffits completed, as well as areas inside remedied that are a complete hack job.
The window broken during tornado was replaced but hanging so crooked, it takes two people to close and latch it. Pot-lights in kitchen are mis-spaced by several inches and I honestly think the crew he provides may have been doing this while intoxicated, or possibly have no experience. They apparently rush right through and obviously do not use level or tape measurer.
There are multiple areas beyond the window and lights that we’ve had to fix or pay another to fix because of Stoked’s lack of care/ integrity.
Beyond that, Stoked was paid to remove, store, and return items that were not damaged by the tornado/ water intrusion from losing the majority of the roof. Jill, the owner’s wife, who is actually 51% of the business, told us right before their Christmas vacation in Florida, that the contents would be returned to the apartment by the end of January (once the poly in the hardwood cured). There were over $6K in items we have now had to pay for out of pocket to replace,
including a stove, $600 electric fireplace/mantel, etc. One item was a family heirloom (110 year old credenza/ buffet)

Any positive review you see, was written by one of their fellow ‘upper crust’ neighbors. So yes, if you are wealthy like they are, they will give you top notch service, I’m sure. If you’re ‘below’ their status, they will treat you like trash. Their favorite jobs to take advantage of, are those stemming from insurance claims. I found out in February that they took advantage of 3 other families that were hit by the March ‘24 tornado.

We were at a complete loss after the tornado tore apart our property. Jeremy managed to get our roof and siding repaired in a timely and acceptable manner. However all the other items on the invoice for which we paid $30,000 have not been done and contractors have not been paid. Jeremy took his cut off the top then ghosted us. We have obtained legal help and hope to recover some of what he stole. I cannot recommend Stoked Roofing and Restoration.
