I highly recommend Splendid Builders. Splendid Builders patched a crack in my stucco that was created after we had solar put in. Joseph was professional and communicated clearly with me about what to expect. His crew did a great job patching our stucco, and the cost was very reasonable.

Splendid Builders & Roofing has come through more than once for me and my family. The most important time was when my elderly mother’s roof was leaking during a storm. I called around town and explained that my mom is an elderly woman and her roof was leaking many places said they were booked or wanted to over charge. I remembered the friendly man and his wonderful wife from Splendid Builders when I reached out to them and told them my mom’s situation they stated that she could not stay in that situation and sent some right over. They understood that she was on a fixed income and they worked with her to make things possible. Joseph and his wife are very professional they not only get the job done but they get it done while taking care of those in need. Thank you for taking care of our communities elderly.

Absolutely the worst roofing contractor. Does extremely shoddy work. When I called him on it and politely requested him to fix the issues, he became obnoxious, a bully and threatened to come and remove the roof he had installed.

More than 1 former customer of this roofer has reached out to me personally and reported his bullying behavior and threats when they confronted him with his shoddy work!! Clearly, this his standard MO- do substandard work and then threaten repercussions if someone dares to complain and get them to back off!

I have now filed formal complaints with CID and BBB.

It's a rare thing in Santa Fe to find a company that not only does great work, but is professional, courteous, and responsive. Joseph Martinez and his company, Splendid Builders & Roofing, raise the bar on all levels. Plus, their quote for the work we needed was significantly lower than two competitors. Most highly recommended.

We have used Splendid Roofers for nearly 20 brand new TPO and other roofs on luxury homes in Santa Fe. In addition, we have used them for probably over 30 repairs. Joseph and his team are punctual communicative and do amazing work. We have had no problems having him come out after install for questions owners have. I can recommend Splendid on both flat and pitched roofs 100%!

I was really looking forward to hiring these specialists to fix my roof issues, especially after reading how communicative Joseph was in working with clients, but after having rescheduled an estimate twice because he couldn't make it out to my property, he has completely ignored my phone calls and texts. As a contractor myself, I've never ghosted a potential client like this. Extremely disappointed

We just completed a roofing project and were extremely pleased with the outcome. Joseph communicated throughout the project so you always know where things stand. He responds to calls and texts immediately which is rare. The workmen were respectful and cleaned up well after the project. Joseph's price was fair and very competitive with other bids. I would highly recommend this company for your next roofing project.

It was a pleasure to work with Joseph Martinez; he communicates patiently and clearly with clients, is responsive and responsible, well organized in running the project and other contractors, and is very meticulous. He reroofed our old house and handled numerous unforeseen challenges, including pre-existing construction issues and the harsh winter. The overall cost was comparable to other quotes but included more insulation, which immediately improved our comfort, and we love the skylights he provided.

Our neighbors used this roofing company for a new roof and then we did too. Very happy with the results, quality, and price. Highly recommend

After our monsoon rains we discovered 6 new leaks in our ceilings. Our contractor recommended Joseph as the best in Santa Fe. He came out to inspect the day I called and made the repairs the next day, before a heavy rain. I strongly recommend Splendid Roofing for excellent work and good staff!

UPDATE 3 years later
I had to file a claim with insurance for the damage to a wall, HOWEVER, two inspections later and the insurance inspector agreed that the roof is in GREAT shape and believes that the water got in through an exhaust pipe not a glitch in the mule hide. It was a freak rain and he believes that is the culprit!!

I hired Joseph and his crew to complete a new roof and remove 3 existing roofs. Couldn’t be more pleased with the end product and the customer service! He and his crew were professional and knowledgeable. He patiently answered all of my questions to my satisfaction. It snowed during the installation of my roof, and they covered my roof and shoveled the snow on days they could not work due to the weather. I just had my new roof installed by Splendid Roofing. Joseph the owner, is very professional. The installation of our new roof was done as promised and we were very pleased with the outcome. The price that Joseph quoted us was way lower than the first 2 estimates that we received from the other roofing company. I recommend Splendid Roofing to anyone that needs new roof!

Splendid Builders and Roofing just completed roof repair on the 40 year old house in Santa Fe that we recently purchased. We selected Splendid Builders and Roofing through a competitive bid process with another roofer. Both recommended complete tear down to the deck and replacement with sloped roof. Splendid also used the new TPO roofing, itemized decking replacement as needed on a cost per square foot basis, costs for new sky lights and canales. We selected Splendid based on this newer technology. The tear down removed 3 older roofs (two of which were pumice which is bad) and revealed other problems as might be expected. The 40 year decking was below the newer code so strengthening with additional decking was recommended. Splendid Builders and Roofing also cleaned up the debris from the tear down (both inside and outside the house). We are very happy.

They left my home reeking of tar, leaked tar into the chimney surround.
Then they will not answer my calls.
Also lots of foam pieces all over my yard.
They obviously do not stand behind their work. They should have disclosed the fact that the house would STINK inside.
I have been sick for weeks because of this.

If you are on the fence about hiring Joseph and his crew to do your roof this review is for you. From the first phone call Joseph is extremely professional. He gave us an excellent quote and answered every question. He and his crew turned up exactly when scheduled and did a wonderful job in record time. His crew are polite, professional and very clean. Now our roof is the best in the street! Don't hesitate to hire, these guys know their stuff.

When you are going to spend money on a roof you want great people.

Splendid Builders did an excellent job on removing the old roof shingles and plywood and replacing it completely with new materials. The work was performed on schedule with no added delays. The workers were very polite, and they left the yard free of any roof materials and debris. Thank you Joseph and Bobbie!

I did the research before hiring Joseph and his company Splendid Builders. I hire and oversee contractors as part of my work. I had limited time to get it done and could not even be in the same state during the job. It is no longer the norm to ask for a turn key price and schedule for work to be completed and then "not" have to be involved to some extent to assure quality. Joseph not only talks it he walks it. The materials are the best and his knowledge of them and how they "have" to be installed is correct and applied. I will always be giving him my next roof. I a not easily impressed and don't give many excellent reviews. Santa Fe is definitely fortunate to have him.

Wow!! I am lucky to have found Splendid Builders. Joseph came out on a Saturday to inspect my roof and gave me the answers I needed. He let me know I needed a new roof, and gave me different estimates , I chose to replace with a TPO roof. The results are amazing. From the time I met him I knew I found a great contractor. His guys were able to come out right away and replace my roof. I have and will continue to recommend him to family and friends. Thank You Joseph for all your work and dedication.

I’m not sure why these people are saying negative things about Splendid Builders & Roofing, they deliver their word and are super professionals. Sad that people make up lies to try and keep people from hiring this company. Some people are super rotten! I will pass this company’s info along to others so they may hire them for their home projects!

I highly recommend going with Joseph for all your roofing needs. Polite, professional, and responsive to phone calls. He was patient despite all my questions, and is extremely knowledgeable. Joseph arrived on time, each and every time, which is saying a lot considering how late nearly all other contractors usually are! He was honest about which areas required work, and suggested for me to only fix that section instead of trying to gauge me on the price. He does not require a minimum square footage to begin work - no job is too small! I’ve researched and contacted MANY other roofing companies and contractors for quotes, and Joseph offered the best price with the best warranties. I cannot thank him enough!

Joseph came out to our house and gave us a free estimate and evaluation of our roof.
There was one area of our house that needed a new roof, but he thought the other sections could be maintained and not completely replaced. He offered to do some repairs on the other areas free of charge.
He was polite and a joy to work with.
My wife and I are very grateful to him for our new TPO membrane roof. I think they did a great job, and they didn’t break the bank.

I would recommend them and will use them again for roofing.
