Southers did a fantastic job. They have very personable, friendly people from Kurtis who specked out the job, to the roofers to, Jack who did the final walk through. They began work on the exact date they said they would. We have a historic house, and Southers understood the need for barn board instead of plywood under the shingles as well as mode of ventilation and other concerns around early construction. The roofing team was fast, systematic and detail oriented. Clean up was complete, like no construction ever occurred. The pricing was fair, with no hidden costs or add-ons. We knew in advance exactly what we’d be paying. In fact, we were given money back at the end for materials that were brought to the site in case they were needed but were unused. I wish all contractors were like Southers. I very positive experience.

I highly recommend Southers Roofing…….competitive price and they completed our entire project in one day. The crew left the decks and yard totally clean with no nails or debris anywhere. The new roof looks amazing. Jack (our Project Mgr) has great people skills and kept us apprised of the progress throughout the day with both pics and drone video. This was especially appreciated since we were 1,600 miles away in Florida. Can’t say enough good things about Southers and Jack!

We were very satisfied with everyone involved with replacing our roof and shutters. The workmanship was excellent, done quickly and efficiently. All aspects of the project were clearly explained to us beforehand by Rick, and the work was expertly managed by Jack. Souther’s Construction replaced our entire garage roof and some repair on our home roof in just a little over a day. The crew worked nonstop, were very friendly and did an outstanding job. I would highly recommend them for your roofing needs!

Old deck demo, haul aware and replaced some rotten boards on the existing deck. All went well and professional. Didn’t pay until the job was completed.

Called them due to a roof leaking into our kitchen, and I got a hold of someone immediately. During the process I was able to get a hold of someone everytime I needed or wanted to which is extremely valuable and important to me. Too many other people or contractors require days of phone tag or simply no responses. Then when it came time for a quote, the person showed up on time and reviewed the situation with me so I could ask questions, provide details, and my concerns. While the job was going to take a couple a weeks to be in queue, the gentleman who came to quote made a 2nd special trip to provide a temporary patch to help prevent further leaks, which was another positive notch in their provided service. When the project day arrived, the crew showed up early and did an amazing job, being respectful of our Privacy and yard. They also did a great job cleaning up after. Originally we agreed to plan for the worst and our quote included extra material to be safe, but during the job they found the situation to be better than predicted and thus the project cost was lowered. I mention this because it's fantastic to have their honesty and not have used and charged the extra material since it was already planned. To cap it all off, they warranty their work to match the materials which is 50yrs, so now we have peace of mind.

All in all, friendly and reliable service, great hardworking and respectful crew, and company that cares about integrity. I'll use them again in the future and would recommend them to anyone.

Southers is the worst contractor I’ve ever dealt with. We are 1 year 7 months into a project to build a 14x14 sunroom. Not only are they slow & sloppy, they are really slipshod. We hired a home inspector to check the work … the insulation was installed so poorly it won’t do a thing. For 4 months over the summer the structure was open to the elements … why? Who knows. But some idiot decided to begin the interior finish work. Oops. They had to pull it all out & pay for mold remediation. Meanwhile they promise to come & work … we haven’t seen them since a few days after Thanksgiving.

Don’t even get a bid from these jokers. Read the endless complaints at the better business bureau.

How they have a 4.9 rating is beyond me. Must be totally fake.

I wish I could leave a better review of this company. I'm a veteran and they are owned by a veteran which is why I hired them. I had my roof and siding done by at the same time. They actually did good work on the project for the most part. The loss of stars is for the following.

Over a month after the project was supposed to start I still hadn't received any contact from them. I literally had to hunt them down to get things going even though I'd made a deposit.

The project took twice as long as I was told it would.

I'm still picking up nails from my yard and driveway. At least 100 so far.

All the stuff that was taken off my house including power lines, mailbox, gutters, etc they refuse to put back on.

A pile of garbage and building materials were left on my lawn/driveway for almost 2 months.

My project manager doesn't answer the phone and lies about when they'll finish the work, over and over.

I honestly wish I hadn't hired these people, which makes me sad because veterans should take care of each other better.

I got several quotes for a new roof. Kurtis from Southers was the most helpful by far. He gave the roof a thorough inspection, sat down with me and explained all the materials, how the roof is constructed, what they would do. I highly recommend giving them a call.

The team that removed our old roof and installed the new roof were great. Once they arrived they immediately started work, the were kind enough to move some deck furniture and post lights to keep these protected and put everything back as it was. Our yard was clean when they left and the roof looks really good. Jack was wonderful to work with, speaks highly and respectfully of the teams he has installing roofs. After the installation he came out to speak to us about the experience and to answer any questions. I would recommend this company and look forward to working with them on the other project we have scheduled.

I had Southers do my main house last summer and was so impressed with the speed and quality that I contracted them to do my barn roof and their crew competed it in a single day including complete plywood coverage, ice and water shield and all new drip edge. Watching their crew attack a roof is absolutely amazing. No mess left either. You just can’t get better than Southers

Southers replaced the siding on my house. They were professional & responsive. John 0wen, the Project Manager, was the best communicator I've worked with on a house project - always kept me posted on times the crew would be there, answered questions clearly, followed through on requests I made, etc. The crew showed up when expected. The job was done right - the house looks great. I am very happy with the results.

We had our siding (Hardie install) and roof redone by Southers. Although there were some hiccups along the way, Southers took the time and care to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction in the end. Took our deposit in June and didn’t get to the work until December, after I called several times to see what was going on. I’d hear from their project manager that they “would be there tomorrow” only to have no one show up for days. Final work so far so good as it was all one subcontractor who did a nice job, but working with this company’s project managers was frustrating.

Had them do our roof inspection and turned out that we needed a new roof and they came out and finished it in one day highly recommend,southerner construction to anyone this company is outstanding on their customer service and explaining what they are going to do and their word is 100% face value you can guarantee what they tell you is going to get done and it's going to get done right the first time outstanding company well established and having a outstanding team that works together.

Southers was attentive, responsive and did an excellent job replacing our roof and skylights! We're very happy with the results.

Colin, Zach and the crew were all very professional. The communication was excellent, they did the job perfectly, and cleaned up so well that when they were finished, they left the place looking better than when they arrived! Third time is a charm, as they say. Southers Construction really pulled us toward the finish line on our remodel in Portland when they swooped in to finish our Hardie siding PROPERLY and finish trimming out our soffits in azek. The crew who did our job were no-nonesense-head-down guys who really care about the quality of their work. They worked long hours and were really efficient. What a concept! Love what you do and do it well! Other contractors should really take note.
John was our project manager and he was communicative and lovely to work with. A rare find in these difficult times trying to find quality contractors to do any work in Portland. Don't be like us, call Southers first instead of last.

Southers Construction was a great find for our gutter installation! They were immediately responsive when we contacted them regarding our project and came promptly to provide the assessment/quote. The price was reasonable. The communication leading up to the installation was very courteous, and they kept us well-informed throughout the whole process leading up to the installation. On the day of installation they arrived on time and were very professional throughout the process. After the installation we had a walk through and were very satisfied with the results. We would definitely recommend Southers Construction and would use them again in the future!

I was so pleased after having my roof done with Southers in December that I had all new siding and trim done in the spring. They also replaced all exterior doors. I couldn’t be more happy with the results. My project manager, John, was wonderful to work with - professional and knowledgeable. Jack, Chris and the roofing and siding crews were equally as professional and provided excellent results. I would refer Southers to anyone!

Running a condo complex is difficult enough and I am happy to say that dealing with Southers Construction, and especially Dan, was an absolute pleasure. Something very difficult to say about any contractor especially during these crazy COVID times. We had them completely tear off our roof on the entire building, they also installed gutters around the entire complex! Dan was great, stuck with the project, dealt with any issues and made sure to complete the project while doing a GREAT job. I would highly recommend Souther's. They are reliable, back up their work and products with their word and ( more importantly) action and genuinely care about the results. In fact I was sooooo impressed I hired them to help me resolve an insurance claim and complete the work on our rear main hallway and staircase. They are in the process of completing that project. Once that's over (should be soon) I will post the results... Then I will be hiring Dan and Souther's to tear down and replace a huge deck in the front of our building. Zack is the epitome of a professional project manager. When a homeowner is getting a project done as in depth and extensive as a roof replacement, they want to feel reassured that everything is running smoothly, proceeding according to plan, and any contingencies are dealt with immediately and efficiently. This is exactly what was delivered to me as the homeowner. The crews that did the actual labor respected the property. They went above and beyond what would be expected as far as leaving the work site clean and being friendly while still maintaining their work momentum. Safety was an obvious concern for everyone on the site from properly anchoring ladders to making sure heavier objects were team lifted into the bins. The end result is a breathtaking roof with lifelong customers who can't wait to do business with these fine folks again.

We called soooo many people to get our roof done --Southers Construction was the only company that just felt right. They have a 50 year warranty and were so kind and professional. From the sales representative Shane to all the workers right up to the project manager Zack, they were hard working, honest, and efficient. They did an awesome job on our new roof (even with its 7 layers) it was done in 3 days! Every detail was explained every option given even future house dreams were discussed. This is a truly wonderfully company owned by veterans and it shows it their integrity and work ethic. I'm so glad we chose Southers Construction and we will be calling on them again!

We used Southers Construction to replace our two entry doors, fix some rot around the doors, replace a gutter and add a railing to our indoor staircase.

The workers did an outstanding job with the install and everything looked amazing.

The only issue we had was the French doors did not have a detail that we were expecting. However, within days Southers ordered and installed the correct glass pane.

The entire project was complete in only a couple of days and Zack and his team was in constant communication throughout the process.

First crew sent out did an awful job on my metal roof install. But Southers were great to come out to address the issues and send another crew to redo the install. Second crew had a few errors but again came back to fix their oversites. Karen my project manager was great to explain things to me and really try to help and get anything fixed that concerned me. Overall happy now with my roof. Thank you.

I received what I asked for with a very positive outcome. Everyone was very friendly and professional. They were able to adapt to changes threw out the project effectively and efficiently. Dan was very attentive with communication as far as my needs for the project. he went above and beyond to achieve the final outcome of the project to our satisfaction and needs. the siding crew was very friendly and pleasant to have around and quite accommodating as well. The carpentry crew's quality of work was outstanding. If we ever needed any future project, we would most definitely use Southers construction again.

While awaiting installation date of slider and front door my items were delivered but the job had to wait another week due to weather. I live near ocean and we had a few days of very high ocean tides. Because the items were in an area that had potential for water, Roger and another individual made the 2 hr drive the same day I called in a state of panic fearing that the building materials may get damaged by the water. They arrived right when estimated and moved everything up to safety on my deck. All items safe. Roger went above and beyond -as project manager he certainly sets a great example. The best experience start to finish! Which is so rare in today’s market. From the first call I was connected to Gilles who was wonderful in explaining all the options and going through the process and material examples.

Once we reached agreement, I was immediately connected with Zack who was the project manager . He was there every step of the way through the installation and also to ensure a couple of punch-list corrections were made right after the job.

The quality of the work is excellent and having a 50-year warranty is comforting. Also the financing was very helpful.

Needed to replace the 30 year yr old roof, some rotting wood gutters and to install leaf guards on all gutters on the house. Southers responded quickly and their price was competitive with others we received. Estimate was well prepared, detailed, and easy to understand. The roofing portion took 1-2 days longer than expected (complicated roof) but the work appears to have been done well, and the crew kept things clean around thre house, so no real concern there. The Southers project managers (Karen and Jack) kept us updated and responded quickly to any questions we had. Of all the home improvement projects we've done on different houses over the years this was perhaps the smoothest. Good experience overall!

This construction outfit is the TOPS. I have lots of construction background and the professionalism and quality would be very difficult to surpass! They made an old deck beautifully refurbished and added a much needed set of stairs and landing for an outside entrance to the second floor newly installed deck. Give them a call! We used Southers Construction to help remove and replace rotting siding in multiple locations of our home. All people who we interacted with were professional, polite, and timely in their response.

The only hiccup in our interaction was a miscommunication regarding the cost of amendment to our initial contract, though the point person for our project (Karen) was very responsive, understanding and patient in her explanation of the situation.

The crew that did the work was efficient, on time (actually done a day early), and did a great job.

We are happy with the work, and would use again in the future should the need arise.

This company and the crew that works for them go above and beyond! Nate was our sales rep and he was amazing. John owen called though out the whole roof repair to make sure everything was going good, and came and did a walk though with me to make sure things were done right. Eli is who did the repair and he was great made sure the mess was cleaned up and made sure the gate was closed every time they went in and out of it so my dogs didnt get out.

We have been dealing with the roof leaking for about two years had multiple companies come out and nothing would happen after that. Finally we found southers construction and with in a few weeks out roof was repaired. Our attic was not vented properly and they installed a solar powered venting system to help with that.

We will be using them for all out repairs we need done to our house.
