Jerry Livingston's pre-purchase inspection of a condo that I have under contract was thorough, detailed, and professional. He arrived at the site at least a half-hour early, giving him time to inspect the exterior, from roof to ground. Once inside he tested the systems - water, electric, heating, venting - and appliances, while schooling us in the best ways to maintain them in good working condition. When inspecting the electrical panel and water heater, and testing smoke/CO2 detectors, etc. he offered guidance about timing for their replacement. His written report - submitted within 24 hours - included notes, photos, and advice – again – for conscientious maintenance. You want an inspector with up-to-the-minute knowledge, who is candid and personable. Jerry is all of that. I heartily recommend him.

I am a first time home buyer and having Jerry come inspect the property and give me advice on what needs work and what doesn't. Jerry was able to make it to the property early to get done some work that didn't need to be done with his client (me) there. Jerry was extremely thorough and took me through every single nick and cranny in that home! Jerry was very responsive, professional and great to work with! I needed a short turn around for my inspection, and Jerry had the report ready to go within 24 hours. As we were walking through the property he was explaining everything and asking if I had any questions. He did a visual inspection of the outside of the chimneys, and a visual inspection of the attic.

He was very accommodating on day and time because I do work full time so we were able to do the inspection on a weekend. I accompanied him throughout the house and was able to ask questions along the way. He also did an outside inspection and explain some things to me about the home that I didn't even know! He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of homes and their systems. His report is very thorough. He addresses things that should be fixed and gives recommendations for upgrades, Etc. I have purchased many homes and have had many inspections and I find many inspectors to be very condescending. This was not the case with Jerry. I highly recommend him.

I can't say enough good things about OnPoint Home Inspection Services. Jerry was very responsive from the moment I got in contact with him. Something unexpected came up right after he arrived at my house and he offered to wait in his car for half an hour while I went to take care of my situation. He proceeded to spend the next two hours, without rushing, going through and testing everything in and around my house.

My wife and I had waived an inspection in our offer for the house in order to beat out the competition, however we did want to make sure we knew exactly what we may need be prepared to fix now and into the future. I’m currently enlisted in the US Coast Guard and had been going through the process of buying a home at my next duty station from out of state, as I was soon to be deployed and could not go in person. During the process my realtors told me they already had a guy for home inspections and that I should use theirs, but being a generally cautious person I wanted to have my own home inspector, a third party. So I looked up some reviews to try to find my own. Jerry at OnPoint home inspections had some pretty solid reviews and a bunch of them mentioned him by name as being a great guy, so I went with him.
Jerry throughout this home buying process has been an invaluable resource, giving me tips, lending his experience, and being incredibly generous with his time. I’m finally near closing on a worthy home (can’t tell you how many previous offers got declined being on a military salary unable to pay straight cash) and it’s in no small part due to Jerry. This man is one of the best. It’s worth mentioning that when I called the other home inspection services in Maine before I found Jerry, the conversation was, “it’s $500 for basic inspection. Oh you want to check for asbestos? Another $500. Oh you want us to see the electrical system? $500 more.” HOWEVER when I found Jerry it was a real interaction and he was interested in genuinely finding out the condition of the home for me, rather than nickel and diming me out of everything. If you read this review, know that I plan on buying Jerry as much beer as he can drink once my deployment is over . 10/10 would trust him to take care of my Nanna and Poppy
