Excellent company to work with! Contracted them to add an additional landing and stairs off of a builder grade deck. The turnaround time from quote to finished job was less than two weeks! Great communication from the team in person and via email. Not only does the final product look great, but they also fixed some structural concerns on the existing deck free of charge. We got quotes from other companies and by far Southern Porch came in with the most competitive price.

Great experience with Rodney and their work. They are responsive, professional, on-time and transparent. Rodney gave me a quote from their website on the same day I submitted the request. After I responded to that email, we discussed details and scheduled a site visit. He was on time, courteous and efficient. He had the patience to explain the process and didn't rush. When they arrived on time for the project, they were ready to start and were conscientious, hard-working, and did a thorough clean up. The contracted work was high quality and as discussed during the lead up.

Kevin and the Southern Porch Company are superb. Kevin transformed our 15 year old deck (rarely used), into a beautiful open deck and a fabulous screened-in covered porch with an exquisite stone fireplace, that is now an outdoor oasis. His attention to detail, craftsmanship, design and excellent pricing all made this into exactly what we wanted. He even hunted to find us the perfect natural wood mantel. We now have the outdoor living space which says WOW when you walk outside. Couldn’t be happier! Trust Kevin, I promise, you won’t be disappointed.

First class. Professional. Detailed. Honest. What else can I say about Southern Porch? They did a deck removal and replacement remodel for my home, and every step of the way, from talking about the design with James and Kevin on site, selecting details and items, start date, quality of work were simply outstanding. We were amazed at the clean up, but more so with the construction which was simply top notch. Kevin and James were great to work with and always friendly. The folk who came to the house always were polite and attentive. And on a couple of points they had questions about a few things or I did and everything ran like clockwork. The inspector even commented on how good the construction was from top to bottom. James knows his stuff, I assure you. Super attentive to detail.
Like always, I got 3 bids on these projects. Candidly, Southern Porch wasn't the most expensive nor the cheapest of the three, but I have no regrets about that. My philosophy is I don't want to sit under a 300 pound chandelier at a fine restaurant that was installed by the lowest bidder! Same with my home. No regrets going with Southern Porch. Neither will you, trust me. No one asked me for this review, and I rarely do them. But when a company stands out as one that deserves praise and your business, I can't say enough about these folk.

Kevin and his crew were top notch throughout the entire process. We had a 34 ft. long, wooden deck that we wanted to replace with composite decking and vinyl railings. We had a dream of turning the space under the deck into a screened-in porch for our hot tub and they made that dream a reality! They added a metal under-decking ceiling below the upper deck so that we stay dry and bug free. They also added stairs to the ground level and electrical work for three outlets and our hard-wired 240v hot tub. It came out nothing short of amazing. James and his helpers worked tirelessly, meticulously and professionally from the beginning to completion. James takes great pride in his work and it shows! They were always available via text or phone call for any questions we had along the way. I would highly recommend Southern Porch for any project!

Southern Porch replaced an our existing deck with Trex decking and turned our screen porch into a sunroom. They worked according to our agreed upon design, material and price. It turned out amazing.

Andrew and Mike at The Southern Porch Company are hands down one of the best people to work with and the results speak for themselves. Our 30 year old, 10x28 deck needed to be replaced and my wife and I wanted to add a screened in porch in addition to replacing the deck with Trex and vinyl railings. I contacted 7 companies in the Lynchburg area, and was immediately contacted by Andrew. Initially I was drawn to them because, admittedly, they were the most affordable. However beyond that, their communication was quick and he gave a very detailed rundown on the contract of what exactly would be completed, along with estimating a 4 week timeframe. They started the project sooner than planned, finished on time and were within budget, outside of a few items I had asked for in addition to the quoted work, and I couldn't be happier. The results speak for themselves. If you need your deck replaced give the guys at Southern Porch a call!

I am very happy with the front and back porches built for us by the Southern Porch Company. Construction was on time and on budget, and Kevin was kind enough to accommodate a special request for hurricane brackets and took extra time to ensure they were hidden by trim.

I have wanted a new deck for about 10 years but have been hesitant to pull the trigger. I contacted Southern Porch Company and was impressed with their professionalism and follow through. They helped me design a new design for the area by pulling out my porch and installing a new screened in porch as well as an open area to grill and star gaze. Kevin and his crew are total pros. They got the deck finished on time, to my design and even answered questions afterwards. I was stressed about spending the money for the new porch but this was the best addition to my house with the least worry possible. I hired this company to rebuild and enclose two stacked decks on my home, the decks were in terrible rotting shape and to make things more difficult they sit on a sloped yard with railings and stairs directly below. Rodney gave me a prompt estimate for labor and materials that was very fair, he projected a reasonable time of construction and clearly warned me of his backlog of work. I'm glad I waited for his company, we could not be happier with the finished project. His crew was polite and neat, cleaned afterwards every scrap of material, when something needed to be changed or added to the job he was receptive and did exactly what we discussed. There were no hidden costs like some contractors tack on and disclose only at completion. His buisness is definitely at the top of the list for porches, decks and additions. Be patient, if a contractor is good they are worth the wait and the good ones always stay booked. Thank you Rodney!

I had two decks built. The price was high but I expected good quality. The decks are good with one exception; the ledger board is attached through the siding and not flashed properly. The correct way to attach a ledger is to remove the siding and flash it properly. This is important. While he was attaching the first ledger, he ignored my request and then went on to attach the second deck the same way. Though this passed code, several contractors agreed with me that this was not the correct way to build a quality deck.

They did a great job redoing our wrap around deck! They got the job done quickly and were careful to clean up everything along the way. Our one year old loved the entertainment! We highly recommend!!

They were able to build my simple 4' × 4' front porch within a week compared to a competitor who estimated 6-8 weeks. The best quote my husband and I could find and we are very glad we chose them. They were quick and efficient building our porch and it looks beautiful and seems very sturdy. If I ever need another porch built, I will definitely go with them.

We have enjoyed our screened porch for several years now. They built our deck on our house 15 years ago and a few years ago turned it into a screened porch. Can't say enough about this company. Not only did they help with the design of our deck but the quality is exceptional. They guys were friendly and the job was done quickly. Hoping to put a sun room on soon and they will definitely be who we will use.

Customer service at this company is awful. I tried to get them to build a simple deck around my pool, but they never put me on the schedule. My project is now delayed by at least 2 months and I have to start from scratch. When confronted about the issue, the owner stated, "I think it best, based on the tone of the voicemail that she[my wife] left, that you find someone else to build your project." If you foresee no potential problems with your project, Southern Porch Company might be able to handle it. If there is any amount of displeasure on your part, they might just blame it on you and send you packing. As for me, I will find another company to build my deck or just build it myself. I just wish I wasn't 2 months behind after this debacle with Southern Front Porch Company.
