Thanks to everyone at DAK Construction for a top notch experience from start to finish. DAK replaced an aging wooden deck with a new Trex deck that is already the envy of my neighbors. My project was small, but David and his crew treated me like I was their biggest and most important customer. They were super communicative through the entire process and paid the utmost attention to detail. My result is a beautiful outdoor space that I can’t wait to use. Thanks again!

From start to finish, DAK provided superior quality and service. There was even some sort of issue with my steps that I did not notice but that the DAK professionals did. I had and old and degrading deck. Dak construction came in, removed the old deck and replaced it with a stunning new one. The workers were efficient and worked the entire days to get the job done. I think they did an excellent job with my deck. The price was reasonable based on the other two quotes I got. They were speedy to complete the project once the permit came through. I’ve gotten lots of compliments from the neighbors.

Worked with DAK to get a beautiful new screened in porch put on our house. They did an amazing job with the tear down of our old deck, the construction of the new porch, and screening the whole thing in. We practically live in this space now -- it feels like a second living room.

Decks by Dak did a great job on the rebuild of our screened in porch! The new porch looks great and will be easy to maintain with Trek boards - no more annual maintenance and staining! The screens are great, and storm doors make it perfect for evening entertaining in the summer and fall. Sanchez and his crew and David kept us informed during the process and were responsive with questions and requests. I would highly recommend Dak!

Had them refinish our sunroom including install of HVAC and all new windows. They did an excellent job, highly recommend. Definitely not the cheapest option out there, but quality was very good and they made sure that we were happy with every little finish before completing the job. Good communication throughout with changes to schedule or materials. Everything was done in a very timely and efficient manner. Everybody on site was not only professional, but very friendly in answering any questions along the way.

We wanted to replace both our aging wooden decks with Trex. Dennis came out and gave us a quote. We then decided to expand our upper deck and then decided to make the upper deck screened in with an open area for our grill. Tim was our point of contact and was extremely helpful. Our crew was led by Sanchez and he does very high quality work. We are beyond impressed with Decks By DAK.

These guys do great work of the highest quality...if I needed a home built I would try to hire Ed , Nick and Noah to built it..I would recommend DAK and particularly this team for any project you may be considering..in this era of lousy service and less than a quality product DAK is a breath of fresh air..

I had my very aged front porch replaced with Trex Select and black Signature rails. I absolutely love it, and how it makes my home feel so welcoming. The entire team, from beginning to end, were great, and I now have a very well-made beautiful porch. Communication throughout was excellent, and Ed and the crew were impressively organized and skilled. Tim was responsive, offering some suggestions that worked out very well. Our deck was just rebuilt by Decks by DAK Construction, LLC. My husband and I have been totally pleased with the entire process and with the outstanding quality of the work and materials. Our only hold-up was the length of time Albemarle County took to process the building permit, which DAK Construction warned us about, but could not control. The construction crew was totally professional and left our building site daily with as little mess as possible. Communication with the company staff throughout the process from initial contact to final invoice was responsive and clear. We can highly recommend this company.

I was impressed by the professionalism of the team throughout the entire process. Just had a deck replaced. It was an excellent experience. The craftsmanship was excellent and they came on time and on budget. Can’t recommend enough!

Dennis, Tim, Dan and their crew did a super job of replacing our deck supports and handling dealings with Trex Customer Service to insure warranty repairs for a number of unusually defective Trex boards from a previous installation were thoroughly replaced. Their workmanship is outstanding and their integrity beyond reproach.

Dennis and his crew (his sons Tim and Daniel, Gabe, Sanchez, etc.) are amazing to work with. Their attention to detail and customer service is best-in-class. You simply will not find a better Deck-Builder! Dennis, Tim and crew truly listen to customers and offer great advice. I've been working with them for close to 20 years (Dak's did a 2 story deck for us at a wknd place almost 20 years ago and it still looks brand new, and is just as sturdy as the day it was completed). :)

Excellent workmanship and structurally sound construction. We use our porch and deck every day all year long. Our three canine family members love lounging on and under the deck and have made special spots for themselves.

In 2015, we contacted 4 deck companies to solicit bids on replacing two decks (one very large deck, one small deck). Dennis Kidd's bid was by far the best price for the highest quality - and his reviews on Angie's list were all 5's.
Dennis gave us excellent suggestions, to include the trex decking, the configuration and the sub-structure. His workers were the best workers we've ever had in 30 years of household projects. They were meticulous in their work and made sure every detail was exact, and they were great people too. We could not be more pleased with the work and the final result. We were so pleased we hired DAK construction for several other major projects, and every project was exceptional.

Dennis worked with our landscaper (Snow's Nursery) to build a custom designed deck project that integrated with the landscaping plan. He built a large screened in deck (pine roof / mahogany floor) and an open deck utilizing Trex planking. It is absolutely gorgeous and will be for a long time. We looked around and DAK is the highest quality builder in the greater Charlottesville area. He also brought in a high quality electrician to install our fan/light fixture and outlets both inside and outside. We could not have been happier with the project and have received numerous compliments from our guests.

Dennis Kidd's Dak Construction just completed installing a Trex deck and railing system as a replacement for our existing deck.
