Southern just completed putting impact-resistant shingles along with an ice/water adhesive barrier for underlayment. I highly recommend Southern and also strongly endorse the impact resistant shingles with the water barrier.

My experience was very professional and thorough. Once the contract was signed, the work was started in a timely manner. The roof was put up in two days. The cleanup was done. I received my statement within 30 days. After payment, I am waiting on fortified certificate in order to get discounts on my home insurance. Thank you for your prompt service. Great job on my new Fortified roof! The crew knocked it out in two days followed by a 3 hour cleanup delivering a great looking roof with a perfect chimney cricket and flashing to code. They even guided me through the shingle and color selection - huge help! The cleanup was flawless, materials and nails removed, all at a competitive price. Contracted Southern Home Improvement to install my fortified roof. Received multiple bids from multiple contractors, on different shingle products. In the end Southern, Slidell won my business because they are local, professional, and offered the best shingle at the best cost of any of the responses. The job was completed in less than two days. The site was completely cleaned of any debris and nails. The team could not have been anymore concerned about my satisfaction as the customer. Thank you, Mike, Matthew and team!

Mike came out to give me an estimate for a patio . Never heard from him again. I had to call him and his office to find out about the estimate. Mike finally called and said he wanted to come back out with the foreman. They came back to my home, we went over everything again and he said they would get back to me. After several more weeks of no contact. I texted and called again and Mike said he was waiting to hear back from his foreman. After couple more weeks, I texted and called asking how long this would take. I never heard back from him again. I don't understand this company. They are the LEAST responsive company I have ever dealt with. They never even provided an estimate for my patio.???

We could not have had a more positive experience getting a full fortified roof. My husband was initially turned off to the somewhat salesman presentation; however, the overall experience was exceptional. They were less expensive than a number of others, but not the cheapest and we definitely are happy with the results. There was a Southern employee (Vadim) who was at our home overseeing the entire process. He was a pleasure to work with and our very particular neighbor even complimented their work and cleanliness. In May 2024 we replaced 5 windows in our home and got 3 quotes. Southern Home Improvement had the best quote by $1,300.00 that was pretty impressive.
The estimator gave us the quote on the spot and provided a detailed explanation of the windows which were the same quality as the other two contractors. When they installed the 5 windows it took less than 3 hours. The installation and clean up was great photos attached.

the workmen were very good at their jobs and quickly finished their work. The first part of the job was changing out the 3 support columns on my front porch and they look beautiful. the second part of the job a few days later was to change all of the windows. The salesman who helped me pick out the type of windows I wanted and showed me I type of window I hadn't thought about and I love them. I've gotten so many compliments on the changes . In August of 2021, like many of us, Hurricane IDA caused damage to my home. My insurance company sent a small check, but not enough. The roofing inspector told me I needed a whole new roof, gutters and patio cover, but of course the money they sent me wasn't going to pull that off. I called Southern Home Improvement about the repairs I needed, they literally took the ball and ran with it. SHI worked up complete estimates for my roofing, gutters and patio cover replacements and sent them directly to my insurance company as the contracting company to perform the work. They used the latest material costs and labor analysis to complete the projects post hurricane. My insurance company sent the necessary additional funds to complete these replacements. All I paid was the agreed deductible. In April of this year, we decided to replace all 30 original windows in our home and install a new front entry door. We bid the work out to 3 or 4 different local companies. SHI once again stole the show and came in several thousands of dollars less than the next nearest bid. The entry door alone (same brand, features, and color) was a tremendous savings compared to another dealer. We just had these renovations completed by SHI, their crews showed up timely and were extremely professional, and cleaned up thoroughly throughout the two day process. The attention to detail was spot on. My wife and I could not be any happier with all of these completed projects. Southern Home Improvement is definitely the company to call for your home improvement projects, from George in sales to James and his team at the Slidell office, they are terrific people to work with and I highly recommend.

Southern Home Improvements Installed my roof a couple of years back. The attic vent/fan went bad. They responded within the week and had it replaced quickly. Took about an hour. They've done other home improvements for me and are a great value. They stand by their work.

We had our windows and siding replaced. Quickest job I’ve ever seen. One day for windows and 4 days for siding. The company and employees were so easy to work with. There were no problems whatsoever. Southern Home Improvement, worked with us to replace damaged siding caused by Ida from 2021. They worked very hard to help us match the outdated 15 year old siding, the color and style is a very close match. The crew was courteous, professional, on time and excellent at their job. I would not hesitate to have them work on my house again, even though they had extra work replacing more boards than anticipated they still completed their work in three days.
This is the second project that they have done on my home, 12 years ago they built a patio Outback, excellent work! Local business, looking out for their neighbors.

My Uncle recommended this company, as they had done his roof and windows. So I signed the contract in April for a new roof and new gutters. My roof was replaced in May of 2022. It only took one day, and I was happy with their work. About a 3 months later they came to replace the gutters and found termite damage. They said they could give me a quote for the damage. That’s the last time I heard for them. Mind you, I paid for the entire project upfront thru my insurance company. After awhile I called again and the lady that answered the phone said whoever I needed to talk to was in a meeting and would call me back. Never heard from anyone. Fast forward to January I called and told the receptionist just come finish the job. I wasn’t waiting another month, just do it and I’ll find someone else to fix the termite damage. They made me sign a waiver with the words “just do it” and they weren’t liable if anything was damaged further. Finally today 2/8/23 they came and finished replacing my gutters. I would not recommend.

During hurricane Vadim did my insurance claim from start to finish. I had no issues, he got more for my claim and completed all the work. I only had to pay my deductible and he made sure the rest was covered by the insurance. I will use them every time. They are local and I feel safe that I can walk in an office an speak to them when I don't understand something.

My husband and I contacted SHI to give us an estimate for installing a screen porch on 5-11-2022. Michael said we would have the estimate by the weekend. We still have not received the estimate and we have called numerous times. One excuse - Michael was on vacation. Another excuse was we would have it by the end of the next day and if not, he would call us back. Still waiting.... We found another business and they are extremely eager to do the work and very professional We have been a very good customer of SHI over the years but we will never do business with them again. Extremely disappointed!!!

I have been waiting almost a year for this company to replace a vinyl strip under one of the windows that they installed on my house. I called them a dozen times and sent them pictures. Every time I call they tell me that someone will contact me to set up an appointment and they never do. Now I'm getting water damage on my house because they will not take ten minutes out of their day to do a repair on an existing customer's house. They will take your money and go away after the initial insallation.

Adding to the review I wrote two months ago. It has now been 7 months, and today the office finally admitted that the materials have not yet been delivered. I am to the point of wanting to ask for a refund. This company came highly recommended from a neighbor and other friends. I would love to write about the work, but I have been waiting for almost 5 months. I met with the associate on February 22nd. At that time I contracted a screened and covered patio, my down payment was deposited at the beginning of March. The structure would also alleviate the build up of water on the patio and provide a place to store a portable generator that is currently being stored at another location. It was explained that the timeline could be pushed into June. Knowing from recent windows and bath renovations, 4 months was not unreasonable. As we entered the 4th month, I called the office for a possible date. I was then told 5 to 6 months, and the associate would have someone call me. Several weeks passed, so I again contacted the office last week. I am still waiting to hear. I realize the pandemic has created unusual circumstances, but better communication would be helpful.

I had a patio build today and was very disappointed. The patio covers only 1/4 of the slap 12ft.in length. IT LOOKS very awkward .I requested to the Manger if anything could be done to correct.it.and make an adjustment to it before they complete it. I was told by the manager this could not be done because I signed a contract with them and I had to accept it as is..Mr James the manager also said that I would have to pay for this awkward looking patio first then I could purchase another patio. The contractor s who were erected the patio said that I could add a extention to top coveri ng and he would get another salesperson to come and see me. After I called southern improvement to see if this could be done,MR James the manager told me he wasn't going to do it. So iam paying five thousand for a patio they look like he'll. Ithink that I was taken advantage of because iam a senior citizen 72 years old.I told Mr James I was counting on the professionalism of his salesman to direct me in the right direction when I purchase the patio. But I was wrong.

My husband and I have recommended this place to two other people because we were happy with their services...until now. My husband called on January 15th because our patio covering has started to leak. He had no response and called again last week and was told someone would call that evening. Still have had no return call. Very disappointed with customer service. So now I have a leaky patio covering.

I did not purchase anything from Southern Home Improvement and neither did the previous owner. They installed windows for the owner before that in 2010.

The windows were leaking when I bought the house, and, even though the warranty had been expired for 7 years and two owners, they came out twice, free of charge, to reseal them. Phenomenal customer service.

I had a HORRIBLE experience! I paid for the work that was done to my house, and it took 2 months for them to deposit the check. When I called the office to tell them about what happened, the secretary was very rude and said that the accountant had to take off. She made it seems like it was my fault that it took so long.

We recently had all of our windows replaced by Southern Home Improvement and we could not be happier. James was super helpful from beginning to end. The install was quick, incredibly tidy and the installers were nice and professional. My windows were ready in the time I was quoted and we can feel an immediate difference in the energy efficiency. We don’t even have any window treatments up and the west facing windows don’t get hot. We just might leave it that way as the windows are beautiful.

I have been waiting for 6 months to get a call from the estimator about a project for my house that we have initially reviewed after the visit. A woman said she emailed this guy twice and I still haven't received a phone call. Maybe because I didn't accept a job to be done that was almost thirty thousand dollars.

Fine quality craftsmen, took their time and did a fabulous job on my home in Money Hill. I cannot express how satisfied I am with words alone. Would highly recommend them and they WILL be doing my next project whatever that is.
