Bergens Roofing did an amazing job on our fortified roof. They made the entire process easy and our new roof looks amazing and it was completed in 1 day!

We have a metal roof with a leak that two other roofing companies attempted to repair with no success. Bergens came out and fixed the problem. We had a strong rain and no leaks!!! We highly recommend Bergens Roofing!

Bergen's roofing process is a five stars but their communication between departments, specifically between roofing crew, the team leader, and the billing department is awful. It appears that they don't talk to each other. Everything is automated. thus, I received a bill before the job was completed and a worker unscrewed a gate hinge rather than give me a few minutes to unlock the gate. I followed the procedure given by the salesman. He straightened out the situation after it occurred. Bottom line -- the automation system needs some additional steps. I love my roof and the company's work system -- hard workers, long hours, careful and good cleanup.

Let me start with we have a steep roof, and this is why we called out experts for quotes to repair our roof.

I went on this company’s website and noticed that they repaired steeper rooftop than mine, so I knew it wouldn’t be a problem for this company.

I must say I was very disappointed with the treatment that I received from this company. From the moment the young man laid eyes on me I was treated disrespectfully.

He told me the men in his company aren’t mountain sheep. I knew they weren’t mountain sheep but it appears they must not have been roofers either!!

I don’t think the roof that was the problem. I believe it was the skin that I was in. What a shame!!!

I politely told him thank you and sent him on his way. I called out Storm Guard Roofing, and the loose shingles were replaced the next day.

I wouldn’t recommend this company if they were the last roofing company in business!!!!!!

I called for a small job and Bergens was knocking at my door within 2 days. We are deep into the woods of West St Tammany and north of Covington but that didn’t phase the great workers of Bergens. They quickly got up on my extremely high pitched roof just to deal with the small job and did a wonderful job that saved me so much money that helps in these high inflation times. Jesse and his team of workers were spot on with everything they did for us. We were getting work completed from the April Tornado ️. They specialized in completing many different things for us, such as: Roofing, windows, trim work, flooring, paint, etc.
The communication between the workers and us were always great. Very professional and courteous in everything that they did for us. The work was completed in a much faster pace than we were expecting.

Awful experience. After many painstaking negotiations. Finally signed a contract. Then without permission or communication, the sales representative lead a group of workers through a closed gate into my backyard, then left them to go find a bathroom.again all unbenoenst to me. I was sick. My husband was not home. Our intire back of our house is Windows. So as I went to my kitchen to get medicine, I see a group of strangers walking around my yard. It was terrifying. To say the least I was not happy. I had my shoes on to run across the street to my neighbor. Then the rep showed back up to inform me he had sent a text informing me they were coming. Again, no permission. I was not happy cordial or pleased. I was scared. I then asked if in the future we could have confirmation when they would be coming before the job started and officially become a construction job. And in addition, maybe an introduction to the people before they went through a closed gate to just appear in my yard. 45 minutes later , we were informed that the workers felt uncomfortable so the company was cancelling our signed contract. There are boundaries and respect of ones home. This company has none. Be very aware of this. We are looking into legal action as they have coast us 3 months of time and effort. Be very Leary of this company. Their signed contracts mean nothing!! And breaking and entering seem to be a norm for them. I will also be sending this to the BBB AND ANY ALL SOCIAL MEDIA.

I contracted Bergens to replace the roof on my house recently. We had severe damage caused by a storm back in April. Since then, I have been dealing with various contractors for different projects. Of all those contractors, Bergens was the best and easiest to work with. They gave me frequent updates on documentation, scheduling, and any other details. I truly appreciate great communication. As for the work, I couldn't be happier. A crew member dropped off a dumpster on a Thursday and the roof replacement began the next morning. I woke up at 6:30 AM that Friday and they were already well underway. The crew was completely done by late Sunday afternoon. The entire process took three days. The crew was polite and professional. Bergens even had other supervisors drop by from time to time to inspect their progress. After the work was done, I was never harassed for payment. I only received occasional reminders. I cannot overstate my satisfaction with Bergens. If you need roof repair or replacement, I highly recommend them!

Great company. Did an excellent job on installing my new fortified roof. Completed it ahead of schedule ( 1day) and cleaned up nails and debris. Highly recommend if you are thinking about a new roof. Price was also very competitive.

I was very pleased with the timeliness of appointments (they gave a one hour window as opposed to half a day). Jason was thorough and listened to my concerns in deciding whether whole roof versus strategic repair. The workers who did the work were polite, hardworking, and did extra cleaning when the contracted job was complete. The supervisor, Miree, was extremely focused on having the work done well.

Bergens is the best! I had a roof leak due to the poor work done by another company when I had my roof replaced after Hurricane Ida.
Decided not to use that company again. My son-in-law just had his roof replaced and fortified by Bergens and had nothing but good things to say, so I gave them a call. Jesse came out within an hour, gave me a very fair bid and said he could have someone out that afternoon to fix it.
The work was done in less than 4 hours, and they took the time to show me what was done wrong and what they did to fix it. They left my house, and you would never have known they were there! Jesse is the best!! I had an issue with a leak due to my chimney flashing and other roofing damage. After weeks of searching for the best roofing company, I decided to call Bergens. Jesse came out within the hour to assess the problem. He showed me pictures of issues, gave me a great, reasonable quote, and came back with his crew within a few days to complete the repairs. He and his crew were very professional, cleaned up the work area, and showed me pictures of the completed work. He gave me thorough explanations of what was done. I highly recommend Bergens and they are people you can trust…I will be calling them for all my future roofing needs.

We had a careless neighbor cutting down trees on the lot next to our house and one fell on the roof right above my baby’s nursery! Jesse and his team got out here and finished the job in under 4 days. They replaced the whole corner of the roof and even had to do interior work. They put down floor protection and covered everything in the room before doing the spackling and sanding to the ceiling. They cleaned up after themselves. Drake came out for the quote, and arrived on time. I had lots of questions especially about fortified roofs during the quoting process, and Drake was quick to respond. He is clearly passionate about roofing and is well educated on the materials and processes.

A pine tree had fallen onto the house damaging the roof and ceiling. A few hours later a thunder storm passed trough and created water damage as well. The insurance company was immediately notified and they sent a crew to do mitigation and a contractor to inspect the damage and create an estimate on the cost of repairs. In the meantime, the tree was removed and a roofing company the tree service was familiar with put up a tarp to prevent further water damage.

Unfortunately, a few days later the rains came again and the tarp failed to keep water from entering the house. I looked up roofers in Slidell with an A+ rating in the Better Business Bureau's website and found Bergens Roofing. Within 15 minutes of contacting them, Jesse Bergens, founder and owner of the company since 1989, showed up at the door.

All I wanted was to have the tarp improved upon to prevent further leaks. I was at the time considering using the contractor from Baton Rouge the insurance company worked with to do the roof and interior repairs, but was not yet committed to a contract.

Jesse immediately saw deficiencies in the workmanship of the tarp and further inspection showed him where else the leaks came from. Shortly afterwards he had two of his crew, Luis and Martin, correct the problem.

While he was there, Jesse told me that his company does reconstruction as well as roofing and sold me on the merits of using a local contractor instead of an out of town company. I signed a contract with him and as long as the insurance deductible was met there would be no further expense on my part. That was on a Friday and by the following Monday the ball was rolling.

An estimator from Bergens came and determined there needed to be more repairs than what the estimator sent by the insurance company had calculated. Bergens worked with the insurance company in adjusting the estimate.

Roof repair was first, with the crew working hard well into the night to finish the job. Interior repairs follwed and was completed in a relatively short time, with crews even staying up to midnight working. All of the work was fitted into an already busy schedule and I am very grateful for that. What may have taken a month or more was done in about two and a half weeks. During part of the repair period we had to find alternate accomodations for a week and Jesse advocated for the insurance company paying the motel expenses by providing proof that the house was not suitable to stay in at that time. The insurance company agreed and reimbursed the expense.

With repairs done, one would not know that the house received significant tree and water damage. The Bergens crew have a great work ethic, going above and beyond what is expected.

In the future I hope to put a fortified roof on the house, for which Bergens is a licensed contractor and I will hire them when the time comes. I recommend this company for any roofing and reconstruction work in St. Tammany parish.

Called Bergens on the recommendation of a customer who had recently had a roof replaced and said these were the people to call for my leaking skylight. Jesse, who started Bergens came to do the inspection, took photos to show me the cracked plastic dome of the skylight and called me to the edge of the roof to see that the post Katrina shingles were seriously deteriorating. He returned in two days with workers to seal the skylight temporarily. A day later, Drake, his son came out to assess the situation and provide a quote. He used a drone to take photos of the roof in its entirety, discovering in the process that that the shingles had other issues. He initiated a request to Owens Corning for possible reimbursement for issues with the old roof. We worked together to provide the samples and documentation needed and received a voucher to cover a substantial portion of the shingles for the new roof. We had documentation on the manufacturer of the custom made skylight which I ordered and had shipped to Bergens office. Once the skylight arrived the job was scheduled. They had a list of things that we should do around the yard and drive to facilitate efficient access and clean up for the installation. During the entire process everyone was professional and courteous, keeping appointments, making timely communications. When the job was completed the yard and garden areas were as they had been before the roofers started work that morning. Altogether it was a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommend Bergens Roofing and will use them for my future roofing needs.

We purchased our house during the summer and knew the roof was old but the inspection said we should get 5-6 more years out of it. Unfortunately, when we started getting rain later in the fall, we noticed leaks beginning to form in one of the bedrooms. This was right before Christmas so we called the first person we could get in touch with to try to get it fixed - long story short, we were overcharged and simply moved the water leaking into the ceiling to another place. We decided the only solution was to replace the roof and began seeking quotes. Bergen’s was actually the last appointment we had and I am glad we waited! Drake was very thorough in his evaluation and provided us information along the way. He is also the only company to talk to us about a “fortified” roof system, which was a “no brainer” for us. Bergen’s was able to come out 2 weeks later and replaced the roof in 1 day. Our experience from getting the quote to paying the invoice was very satisfactory and I would recommend Bergen’s to anyone seeking roof repair/replacement.

Then while here, they noticed another area that needed work and did it same day. They also blew our roof and repaired shingles they saw that needed fixing in addition to the project. We chose Bergens to install a new roof in March 2023. Our insurance company was leaving the state and it was difficult to get new policy quotes with the existing roof (no issues, plenty of life left). While the insurance companies' pricing incentivizes using the cheapest materials, we went with Bergens because:

*a real person showed up. When we requested a quote, the owner of the company came out and talked us through our options.

*their partnership with GAF. Louisiana wind and hail deductibles are now equal to named storm deductibles. GAF's enhanced roof warranty, while a higher cost for material, provides an overall better roof and the potential to avoid paying the deductible. Maybe we will never need it but it was an interesting option.

*Bergens is a local business providing an excellent product.

The roof installation went well. The material distributor made a mistake with our order and Bergens had the correct materials delivered and installed quickly. The office made scheduling, payments, and getting the warranty paperwork easy and painless.

The roof performed well through this hurricane season. The GAF materials look good on the house. Lots of other folks are in the same insurance predicament--we have been recommending Bergens Roofing to everyone. I hope not to need another roof for a long time but we will be calling Bergens when we do.

I was dealing with a leaking roof when I called Bergens. They called me right back and Jesse came out within an hour. After an assessment he gave me some options and i planned on going with a whole new roof. Several days later his son came out and reassessed the roof to do the job and honestly told me the repair would be better and he thought I could get another 3-5 years out my roof. So I went with the repair. 2 days later Jesse and his two guys came out and within a few hours my roof was repaired.
These guys are great, customer service is excellent, and they will definitely get my business recommendations.

What can I say! My family absolutely appreciates Bergen’s roofing. They went above and beyond for my Mothers home, we had a dry, rotten window seal that they not only replace but went the extra mile and fix the above window seal on the second story. There was a hole in the roof, you could literally see outside from in the house! They sealed off and protected the roof from water coming. My Pops after Katrina changed the garage into another family room for when the sibling comes to town for the holidays we miss you Pops! Anyway Jesse and his team saw what appeared to be a leak that turned out to be whenever it rained water was gushing in. They went in removed all of the rotten wood replaced it with heavy duty membrane and pressure treated wood and sealed of all areas so water would do anymore damage. I mean absolutely outstanding, just phenomenal job! I actually live in another state from my Mother, so he went the extra mile and sent me pictures from start to finish for my records. Jesse and his team really looked out for my Mother and we greatly appreciate his expertise and ability to get the job done! Reach out to them for all your roofing needs! Super company!

I called this morning and explained to the receptionist that I was part of the fortified roof program and I explained to her that I had a bad install that I had already contacted the fortified roof program and they told me to get some additional bids the receptionist continued to ask me the same question over and over, and I finally told her that I had explained it to her three times. She began to yell and scream, and was very condescending and had an extremely smart mouth on her. My last sentence to her was tell your boss that he just lost a $15,000 roof installation

After having lots of overnight rain I noticed water coming through my soffits on the back porch. I called Bergens Roofing on a Saturday morning thinking I wouldn’t see or hear from anyone till Monday. That Saturday afternoon Jesse came out and looked at my roof. He was very knowledgeable and told me my roof was fine and just needed some gutter cleaning. He didn’t try to sell me on needing costly repairs. I will definitely be using these guys in the future due to their honesty and willingness to show up on a Saturday.

When the roofing company I had scheduled to repair a leak in my roof was a no-show I called Bergens. It was 4 pm and with the impending bad weather forecasted I was in panic mode. Bergen's did a great job on my roof. They shut themselves apart by actually walking the roof rather than just flying a drone. They were able to set expectations and give me a more realistic price for what the job would be. They sent me countless hundreds of pictures as the job develop and it was always a foreman there that I could speak with should I have questions. It was a very large roof and they were putting much in and out in 2 days. The job was done very well and they cleaned up properly. Would highly recommend them!!

After researching the business, reading the reviews and meeting with Drake, I expected good service. I was not disappointed. Thank you Drake, Jason and the roof workers, you did a good job.

From start to finish we were very happy with everything. I wasn't being sold anything just given a wealth of information. They were able to also complete some soffit and fascia work at a very reasonable price. They even replaced a deck board that was rotten without us asking them. My experience with Bergens goes back a while when Jesse was still running things. Jesse installed a new roof on my home in Lacombe around a year before Katrina hit. Although we flooded and had a lot of other damage - our Bergens roof faired well. Good construction and attention to detail. It also took 28' ladders to access. My wife and I built a new home during 2007 in Abita Springs. You guessed it - we went with Bergens for our roof. I've had it inspected a couple of times after hail/wind events and all good even when other homes in the area had to get new roofs. I will definitely be contacting them when I need a new roof.

Bergens roofing was a wonderful company to work with, as I was getting a full roof replaced. For the estimate, Drake came out to the house, did a full inspection, then sat down and went over the 2 estimates in detail, explaining every possible option and what would be done. Very friendly and professional. I was able to schedule right away and everything went as planned. Details were provided ahead of time explaining the process and time frames. Workers were great and did an excellent job. The cleanup after the job was excellent, and given the amount of nails that came off the roof during demo, 20,000+, very few were left behind after the clean up. Jason the project manager called me the day before and met with me the morning the job started. When job was complete, Jason then did an inspection. Drake, Jason, and Bergens were always available for a phone call or text , with a quick response. You cannot go wrong with Bergens, highly recommended.

They were very neat, great quality was great even though it was record heat even for Louisiana. Very professional took pictures of damage before and after for insurance purposes. I am more than satisfied, would recommend to anyone.

If you want the best, go to Bergens Roofing. We verified that Bergens was licensed and sufficiently insured in both general liability and workers' comp, and Drake came out and physically inspected the roof and used a drone to view and take pictures before giving us options. We chose to install a high quality GAF roof with full waterproofing and are happy we did! Of the four quotes we got, only Bergens offered the option to get full waterproofing and the enhanced warranty which you only qualify for when installed by a GAF certified roofer. The crew was very hard working and the project manager, Jason, was very responsive to our questions and concerns. On a personal note, if you have dogs, make sure to check and close your gates once crew leaves. It may even be best to board them until job is complete. Bergen's Roofing is an excellent Company. Upon our first Physical visit, we walked our home for roof inspection and went into attic for further inspection. He explained everything he saw as we walked together during the Initial visit. All questions that I asked were answered and provided full understaning of the conversation details.
