Sound Set Roofing was recommended by a relative who said the owner, Jimmy had provided a genius solution to a roof issue they had, and does quality work. Our situation was a leak coming from the flashing area all around the chimney. Jimmy propsed to replace the flashing and a one foot portion of torch down roofing all around. This made sense and we hired them - the work the team did was excellent quality. They even provided before and after photos for our records. I cannot say enough great things about my experience with Jimmy and Sound Set Roofing. I originally used Jimmy when I had a leak in my roof about 3 yrs ago. He was referred to me by a co-worker who also had an excellent experience. I had contacted a few different roofing companies and none of them could find the leak. Jimmy was the only one who actually went into my attic and saw what was going on. He responded quickly, located the leak, and did a solid fix. I knew that my roof was aging and he said it had about another 3-5 years of life in it. Sure enough, 3 yrs later I had another leak in another location and I immediately called Jimmy who again came out quickly to repair. By now, Jimmy had already done roofing jobs for another one of my co-workers and a close friend who owns several properties- ALL had rave reviews. I just had them replace my entire roof. Jimmy and his team were absolutely terrific. We received several quotes for damage done to our skylights during the bomb cyclone at the end of 2024. Jimmy not only addressed the skylight issues, he is the one and only contractor who noticed "squish" under our metal roof, indicating water damage to the wood below. His team was professional, prompt, and the communication was excellent. One of our skylights required a custom fit, so his crew came out to water proof it until the glass came in. We have already decided we will use Sound Set Roofing when we have the funds to replace all our skylights. I would wholeheartedly recommend Jimmy and Sound Set Roofing. We were so impressed from start to finish. It is worth noting that he also provided detailed pictures of the work from start to finish to allow us to submit repairs to our homeowners insurance!

My townhouse roof started leaking right before Christmas 2024, I was in an urgent need to find a roof contractor. Because of the November bomb cyclone, roof contractors were super busy. After talking to Jimmy Ramos, the owner of Sound Set roofing, he came over to meet me in four days within his busy schedule, inspected my roof, took many photos, and showed me the roof condition, convinced me a new roof was needed. He also put a temporary patch on the leaking spot right away for free. Within a week, Jimmy provided a detailed estimate for a new roof replacement. After reviewing three quotes I got, I decided to go with Sound Set Roofing not only because of their competitive price, but also Jimmy's responsiveness in communication whenever I had questions. Even though I was originally told I might have to wait until early February 2025 due to their work load, I felt the most comfortable with Jimmy's professional manner. We needed a roof replacement for our newly purchased home and we are so glad we went with Sound Set Roofing. As first time homeowners, we did a lot of research on types of roofs and roofing companies, but still felt overwhelmed by the options and expenses.

We received 4 quotes from big to small companies and Jimmy, the owner of Sound Set Roofing, was the most hands on contractor we met with, from drawing pictures to help us visualize the new venting system, to patiently explaining the step by step process multiple times. His bid was competitive and time frame was reasonable (beware of companies that guarantee next day 1 day roof replacements). Unlike other companies, there was no upfront deposit required, we paid on the first day of work and after completion.

We especially appreciated that Jimmy was the only contractor that went into the attic to feel the plywood to give a better estimate of the damage and number of sheets needed to be replaced and walked around the roof to feel the shingles and chimney (other companies took a peek from the attic access panel and used drones to take pictures).

During the project, Jimmy sent updated pictures showing us the condition of the old roof and each step of the way (plywood, underlayment, etc). Plywood was put on our deck to protect it. After the work each day, the crew cleaned up the space nicely.

We went with Malarkey Vistas shingles and the quality of work is outstanding (Sound Set Roofing is certified by Malarkey). Sound Set Roofing is licensed, insured, and bonded, and provides a 20 year workmanship guarantee, so while we don't think we will be calling them any time soon, we know they take pride in their work. I used Soundset roofing to replace a roof mounted skylight. Jimmy and his team were very responsive, professional, and were even able to accommodate a a tight schedule.

Sound set roofing did a roof install on my in-laws house. We inquired for an estimate and within a short amount of time Jimmy came out, took the time to explain everything they would do and got us an estimate later that day. After we signed and picked our color, they started the work, and did it on Weather permitting days got it done fast and did a very good job extremely satisfied.

Jimmy and his crew have done multiple roofing jobs in my neighborhood, so when it was time for my roof replacement, I knew who to contact.
His estimate was well below other companies' quotes, even for the exact same materials and labor.
Some big positives from my experience:
Very responsive to email contact. Very quick to provide multiple quotes and options.
Very flexible when asking for clarifications on the scope of work, noting what exactly is being installed, how that translates to the wind and useful life ratings, and the warranty options.
His favorable pricing even allowed me to have room in my budget to install two solar tubes.
When the work was completed, the final charge matched the estimate exactly, which was very much appreciated.
His crew was very hard working, showed up when they said they would be there, protected my roof each night in case of rain or snow, cleaned up after each day, and at the end of the job. They even provided an extra service of painting plywood panels which I am extremely grateful for!
On other work with contractors, there have been examples of lack of communication and understanding of scopes of work with the estimator/office and the field workers. That did not happen with Jimmy, another huge positive for him.

This is really a 15 star review ... 3 visits at 5 stars each. I'm very happy with the work Sound Set Roofing has done for me over the last 2 years. Their first visit was a water leak in my master bathroom. Same day visit, identified and diagnosed the issue, explained everything in detail and fixed the problem a few days later. 2nd visit came from an inspection request from our insurance company. Sound Set did a comprehensive evaluation of the entire roof, took numerous pictures and explained what needed to be fixed/updated. The work they did was that of artists. They blended new shingles in with a 16 year old roof invisibly! You really have to look hard, or have been there watching the work get done to see it. They delivered a complete inspection report, which was sent to and approved by my insurance company. Last week they added roofing to a workshop expansion and again, seamless. They even took the time to explain how they were able to improve that roof compared to the design of the original.

I highly recommend Sound Set Roofing for any roofing job, big or small.. You won't be disappointed!

Sounds set did a great job repairing our roof from some tree limbs that had punched through. Jimmy was one of the only folks in the area even willing to do repairs and, even though I was just a repair client, he and his crew showed up when they said they would, did exactly what they said they were going to do and left everything cleaner than they found it. I thought his pricing was very fair and his responsiveness was quick, even proactively calling when snow was in the forecast to let me know he may not be able to make it out rather than just not showing up. I fully recommend Sound Set for your roofing needs.

I would recommend this company to anyone who wants reliable, reasonable and just great work. I did 3 different quotes. Mr. Ramos actually showed me everything wrong with my skylights and found more a few more problems. The other 2 did nothing like that. One just panned the roof. The other came, checked my roof and then had to have a skylight specialist. I had already said I needed my Skylights replaced. Ridiculous!
Mr. Ramos with Sound Set fixed all the problems and sprinked zinc to get rid of my small amount of moss.

I asked Jimmy to check out a skylight issue. He identified a minor issue and just fixed it while he was up there. He then showed me pictures and explained what he did--at no charge. He was friendly and easy to deal with, and I will call him if I have skylight issues in future.

If you have problems with anything related to roof, Jimmy is the guy. We had a leaking roof related to skylights. I’ve got at least four or five quotes before Jimmy. But he was the only one who tried to solve the problem one by one. Others were trying to minimize the time and maximize the cost. Eventually Jimmy gave us about half of other quotes. He and his crews fixed the roof one day and we have no leaking roof anymore. Would definitely call him back whenever.

The old roof was 'builder grade' so this was a significant qaulity upgrade to our roof: synthetic membrane underlayments, ice/sheild membrane with metal valleys, Malarkey-Legacy shingles, conversion to ridge-vents, and new skylights with flashing were installed as well. Working with Sound Set Roofing was an excellent experience from the quote which came in lower than expected to to the care and professionalism shown by Jimmy and his employees. Quite a few of our neighbors had found leaks and damage when replacing their roofs so we were eager to get it done before the rainy winter season. We were able to schedule for early August, and it turned out there was pretty extensive damage, especially around the vents, so I’m glad we didn’t wait. Jimmy also replaced a gutter that was dented, attached a small gutter that had been left “hanging” by the original roofers, and added 3 downspouts to correct a design flaw where water from the upper level of the roof drained onto the lower levels and ran down the shingles causing excessive wear. I researched Malarkey shingles, and they sound perfect for the Seattle area, especially with the built in moss control! We chose the Vista AR in Black Oak and I love the way it looks! I’m confident this roof will last for decades and save us from costly repairs and maintenance. If I ever need another roofing project done, Jimmy and Sound Set Roofing would be my first choice without a doubt!

Jimmy and his small crew recently completed the replacement of our composite shingles, installation of a new sloped metal roof to replace a small flat roof, and some repairs to our cedar shingles that had been damaged over the years. Not only am I super happy with the end result, but I really appreciate how he does business – very professional, proactive, respectful and honest.

It started with the estimate. He set an appointment and showed up precisely on schedule (not true for all the estimates I got). Instead of just eyeballing it (as some did), he spent a good amount of time on the roof measuring and evaluating so he knew just what he was getting into, and so he could give me a solid – actually perfect - estimate of the cost (not true for all the estimates I got, which included ranges). He also offered suggestions and alternatives, including the metal hip roof replacement for our flat roof that we ultimately selected and looks great.

Then, as the historic rains in May delayed some jobs, he kept me proactively updated on when he expected they could being our project. I always felt like I knew exactly what the plan was. No guessing or wondering.

Then, the job began. I’ll have to admit I really like it when the person who quotes me is the same person climbing the ladder and doing the work. I feel like it says this is someone who has real skin the game. Jimmy and his crew were careful and respectful of our property and our neighbors, from keeping a tidy jobsite to being super careful not to block the sidewalk with his truck (which I encouraged him to do, but he preferred to inconvenience himself instead of others by parking down the street).

And in the end, I have a great new roof that makes it feel like a new house. Great work done with integrity. I highly recommend.

Sound Set is fantastic. Jimmy is very knowledgeable, responsive and honest. He came recommended from a developer friend and did not disappoint. His base quote was also slightly lower than the four others we got, but more importantly, he didn't nickel and dime us for thousands more like some of the others did with some additional things we wanted like putting in anchors and taking a chimney down. He was transparent with what the additional stuff would cost and involve. Clean up was done daily, his crew were professional and it was all done on time with frequent check-ins and communication from Jimmy. He used my neighbors driveway for a day and thanked them by inspecting their roof and took care of a small issue for free. I told all of my other neighbors about him. Too bad you only hire a roofer once.
