Shelterwood Construction

We live in the first home built by Shelterwood. In 2018 it was selected as the best passive house of the year in North America by the Passive House Institute. This recognition is a well-earned testament to the quality of work of the Shelterwood team and the commitment of Shelterwood to environmentally responsible construction.

We couldn't be happier living in this dream-come-true house. It's full of light, warmth and fresh air. As I write this it is one degree outside, and you'd never know it inside. It's 69 now. With the sun out today, I know that the sun streaming through the large south facing windows will heat the house up to a toasty 78. I'll be in a T- shirt.

In addition to building to the highest standards, the pros at Shelterwood are wonderful collaborators. They worked from the beginning with my wife and I and the architect, bringing their skills and insights into the design process itself, thoughtfully dealing with the inevitable little surprises that arise during a complex project, and more generally being a delight to work with.
